I’m going to keep this simple. Service was good… food was bland and place is loud. I don’t know how they stay open.

I don’t know how long ago it was that Elvis Duran said this place was fantastic but he might want to retract his endorsement. First off I would like to say our waiter was fantastic. That is why I gave one star. That was the only good thing about this place. We ordered the hot antipasto it sounded delicious! We waited way too long, but at the time we figured good food takes a while to prepare. We got a plate of what looked like slop. A mound of fried zucchini sticks soaked in some kind of sauce with mushrooms with a few sad looking pieces of seafood underneath. It was extremely wet and was not worth the $ 18. Not worth $ 2. Then the entrees came out after waiting extremely long again. I ordered the angle hair pasta with clams, calamari and shrimp. What I got was a bowl of the cooking water for the pasta with some food in it. I took one bite of shrimp and decided I did not want to spend the remainder of my evening in the er due to food poisoning so that was it for me. The seafood was RUBBERY, OLD, and had a bad taste. That was the only flavor the dish had. I tried some of the pasta but it was just wet noodles and not worth it. My husband had a steak which he said tasted like a salt lick. I could see his blood pressure rising bc of the excessive amount of salt they ruined this steak with. The meal was $ 100. It was horrible. We went bc Docks used to be amazing. Packed out the door. I guess we should have realized that we should have gone elsewhere since it was almost empty at 6 pm on a Saturday night. Terrible experience.

I’m only giving the star because our waiter was attentive and nice. First off chairs were wobbly we had to move furniture so we didnt go through the chairs. Then we order. We get a sampler $ 19 for fried zucchini sticks in a mushroom red sauce pretty much there was eggplant rollatini was eh and bland also I had gotten a lobster Bisque soup it was so thick and creamy and heavy. So dinner comes I get the $ 29NY strip steak it was beyond salty my blood pressure is through the roof right now prob. And my wife she ordered a pasta and sea food in oil. It came out it looked like soup there was so much water looked like they didn’t drain the pasta and she took one bite of the calamari and said NOPE! She said it was old and rubbery and tasted funny Also no free refills on soda … Strange ! So all in all $ 100 for a crappy meal.

I recently went to Dock’s with my family. It was a wonderful experience. Hope was our waitress and she was wonderful. It was our first time visiting and I had heard nothing but great things about their chicken parm so we had to try it. It went above and beyond our expectations. The portions were large enough where everyone had leftovers, plus since it happened to be a Tuesday, they were Buy One, Get One Free! It was a steal. We had the wasabi calamari(DELICIOUS) and the fried zucchini(crispy and perfect). The tilapia oreganata and grilled chicken over arugula salad was great as well. No disappointments. Perfect dinner. I can’t wait to go back, especially on a Tuesday. I would recommend it to anyone. Elvis Duran was right too!

I came here after it was advertised on Elvis Duran’s morning show on z100 and groupon. I’m sad to say that I was extremely disappointed. I came here on Sunday evening at 6:30PM. There were a lot of empty tables, but we had to wait an hour for our food. We were given a lot of bread and refilled but the bread tasted like white wonder bread. The chicken parm was too salty and number 12 was too creamy and bland. We also go the linguine rosa clam which were decent. Overall, I will not return and definitely not worth the price even with the $ 40 groupon used.

Bad doesn’t begin to describe it. We got there at 1pm yesterday and it took 10 minutes for the waiter to put bread and butter on the table but he didn’t give us plates or knives. It was 10 more minutes before he came to take our orders. He was apologetic saying they got«slammed» with everybody coming in at once. There were 14 people in the place, including us, on a Thursday afternoon. If that’s «slammed» I can’t imagine how they would handle a busy Friday or Saturday night. It took another 20 mins for our appetizers to come. My stuffed clams were burned and I got a bowl of lobster bisque but again wasn’t given a spoon. Halfway through the appetizers the waiter came and asked if we were ready for our entrees, so after waiting 40 mins for appetizers he’s trying to push the entrees on us. I would never go there again and wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody else.

I recently went to eat at Docks Clam bar With Family and must Say the food was very good and the resturant Very comfortable, I will give this place the 5 stars it deserves. I got a chance to meet the cook Bennito to thank him on such a great meal and must say he was extremely humble and deserving of a compliment for the dishes he cooked for us. The place has great A/C also, looking forward to return again. Great food, Great cook and the server was also nice. +++++

We stopped in last Sunday for a lazy lunch, and order a few appetizers and some cocktails which were fine. But despite the dinning room being nearly empty our entries took so long to arrive that we finally ordered them to go.

Save your money and go somewhere else. Over the years the quality of their food has diminished. This is so sad because this used to be one of the best restaurants on the south shore

Reservations at 7:30 I’m writing this review at 10:00 and I’m still waiting for my dinner. I haven’t left because I’m with friends I haven’t seen in a while. I’ll never come back here.

Had lunch here on a Thursday in May. It’s in a Strip Mall so no views but they try to compensate with the Décor. Prices were quite reasonable. Staff is incredibly friendly & accommodating. Only 2 stars because the food should be better. The stuffed clams were chewy. The coconut Shrimp was good. The Manhattan Clam chowder tasted a few days old & clams were chewy. The broiled shrimp with my broiled oreganata topped lobster tail was over cooked and tiny. The lobster was a decent size but wasn’t a high quality tasting tail. The potato croquet was good, as were the fresh green beans. The fettuccini Alfredo was the right thickness but lacked flavor. The Italian bread was fresh; not heated but good. My companions weren’t overly thrilled with their dishes either. But the staff was so accommodating & wanted to make things right. Perhaps it was just an off day.

the food was amazingly good. It took a while for everything to come out, but it was so much worth the wait! Plus you know, it was fresh, not frozen. The server was super nice too! Was there for my birthday with family. Ive had chicken with potato and veggies(my pick for side). For appetizers we had mozzarella sticks, fried calamari and baked clams. Everything was really good. They don’t really have much desserts, but the one we has was very tasty :). My first time there, I am definitely coming back.

This place is excellent. The seafood is fresh. The oysters are always top notch and the pasta dishes are to die for. My advice is to get a few apps and then get a big bowl of pasta and a few meat balls with red sauce and enjoy. The staff is well trained and the bartenders pour great drinks. Some days there is karaōke. Apparently no patrons can actually sing that well.

we had the chicken parm and the veal parm. it was absolutely delicious! Friendly service. The place is a little loud, but could still keep conversation. The wait was a little lengthy but only because all the food is made from scratch. Would come back again!

The worst service ever. Waitress never refilled drinks, we waited for ever for the food, it was only warm because it wasn’t picked up when ready. Then she never offered coffee or desert and when we asked for the check, it took 25 minutes for her to bring it. Now for the food, the only dish that was decent was the fried calamari. However the sauce was thick tomato paste that tasted burnt. Baked clams were overcooked and the lobster bisque soup tasted like it was made last week. What a disgrace. Their famous chicken Elvis parm was warm, lousy sauce and the side of linguini had the same lousy sauce as the calamari. My son and friend had the prime rib Thursday special. Overcooked meat but certainly better than that lousy chicken parm. This place is terrible and the service and food is better in my local pizzeria.

We had a meal that were polar opposites of quality and value. On the one hand, if you’re in the mood for an awesome chicken parm dinner, Dock’s is the place for you. A generous portion of thick chicken with tasty sauce, and plenty of cheese. The seafood salad appetizer was tasty, with a great assortment of fish. On the downside, the scungilli salad appetizer was tender, but straight out of the can. There is a HUGE difference between fresh and canned scungilli. The fish dishes themselves were small in size, and unimaginatively prepared. I’d come back to Docks in a heartbeat for a seafood salad appetizer, and chicken parm dinner. For everything else… not so much.

Had my boyfriend’s surprise 30th bday dinner here last month. First off, Kim was really awesome in accommodating our party. She gave us a choice of the pre-fixe menu which was around $ 26 pp. She even personalized the menu as to who we were celebrating for, super cute! There was live entertainment, a young man with a big beautiful voice sang all through our stay. And assisted us with«Happy Birthday». Our servers were great, very personable. The bartender was quick. Being in the service industry for the last 12 years, I observe everything. Our party really enjoyed themselves, and their bellies were full! Regardless of what other Unilocalers have said, I will definitely visit again and soon! I’m craving the baked clams! YUM!

Nice place and seated quickly. Bar area. Waiter was very nice and helpful. Ordered the baked clams and baked mussels. REALLYGOOD! Ordered a pitcher of sangria, it was okay. Had crab cakes stuffed with lobster meat, the BF enjoyed it and he loves crab! I had the penne pasta with smoked mozzarella, BIGPLATE but it was so good and I love leftovers, thats the best. Prices are not bad at all neither. I would come back and try out more seafood and also some speciality drinks too. Lots of parking. Food takes a while to come out.

Recently had the opportunity to go back to one of my favorite Italian restaurants on Staten Island. Got to say that the food is amazing, the staff colorful and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who loves to eat! Dock’s is a home run!

Let’s get the cons out of the way first. This place can get LOUD on entertainment nights or just when it is packed out. Also even though the wait staff is extremely nice and willing to jump through hoops for you they can be slow. Now let’s get to the good stuff! Everytime I come here I need, not want, need to get their lobster bisque. I have never once received a cup or a bowl without huge chucks of lobster meat in them, last time it was the whole claw! Their fried calamarie is crazy good, and if you can get the wasabi or buffalo one just do it. Also don’t ignore their nightly specials that are also ever changing. Their seasonal salads are great. A main stay on their specials is the chicken parm with three different sauces. If I could order the chicken parm with vodka sauce as a main meal i would, it’s so creamy. If you like clams this is your place. Have them raw, backed, whatever, they are delicious. They’re pasta menu is great I have basically tried almost every single one and have not been disappointed once. Okay, maybe once and a blue moon, but that’s when the lady chef is not working the kitchen.
