Enzo & Tino’s Bake Shop

I am taking time out of my busy day to write about my experience this past Sunday (January 31, 2016) at Enzo & Tino’s Bake Shop, in hopes that no one else has to go through the same annoying events. I had a friend visiting Staten Island for the weekend and was excited to share a traditional Italian Sunday dinner with my family. What Sunday dinner is complete without some delicious pastries from an authentic Staten Island bakery to finish off the meal? I looked Enzo & Tino’s up on Google maps before heading over and it said their hours were until 6pm on Sunday, being it was 5:12pm when I arrived at the store, I had MORE than enough time; or so you would think. I got out of my car and the bakery door was open; there was a brunette young lady sweeping up who immediately yelled out in a rude manner «We’re closed!» I said it says until 6pm online and she pointed to the door which did say that the hours were until 5pm on Sunday. Fair enough but there are 2 issues here. First, what kind of response is that to a customer wiling to pay hard earned $ for your product & second as a business owner make sure your hours of operation are correct on the Internet. People depend on that information! I tried to ignore her rudeness & asked the young lady if she would like some more business and her response was «Hurry Up» I immediately said «no thank you, have great night!» What an embarrassment and terrible representation of our borough, which often gets a reputation that its residences have terrible attitudes; do you wonder why? My friend was completely mortified as was I. Being a business owner myself, I would like to know about employees behaving in this manner in order to improve my customer service and grow my business. I was a frequent visitor to Enzo & Tino’s and I do think they have a decent product and some good food for the most part which is why I have generously given 2 stars. However; this may have been the final straw.

We went there for the first time yesterday and got the roast beast and the big bleu. Both were DELICIOUS. We can’t wait to try out more. We’re going next weekend to try out their breakfast. The french toast looked good! Also, the guy at the front was very sweet. Overall great experience. I highly recommend!

So happy a place like this opened up in my neighborhood. Awesome 7 layer cookies and other desserts/​pies/​cakes. They also have pizza recommend the square slices and can whip you up a fresh breakfast sandwich. They also make really good Italian sandwiches plenty of options on the menu or you can make your own. Good spot will be back many more times!

Have only had the peanut butter jelly donut from here but I’ll definitely be back to try their other selections!

The food is delicious. So different then every other sandwich place on this island (besides johns deli of course) and the staff is super attentive and very nice — so I don’t really know what these other reviews are talking about maybe you just caught them on a bad day. Definitely a must try

Love everything I’ve eaten here… Like are you kidding me… peanut butter and jelly cronuts HEAVEN!!! Hero’s are big and delicious… pizza is excellent… Ate there atleast 10 times and satisfaction every time. Highly recommended

Great hole in the wall! Amazing sandwiches with fresh baked bread! Sandwiches will feed two!

Went in on July 5^th based on a recommendation. Walked into a store with no employees there, waited about 5 minutes while I looked at the sandwich options, and then a woman (employee or owner I assume) came into the doorway between the store front and the kitchen, stood there with her hand on her hip, and said «What do you want?» in an oddly anxious/​angry voice. My jaw literally dropped at the attitude that was given to me. I walked out.
This is not to say the food is bad, in fact I’ve heard decent things, and for all I know this woman was having a terrible day, we all do and I get that. But in any event, this is a service industry and to be treated like that as someone who wanted to give a store some business is just frustrating.
This isn’t a purposeless review; I truly can’t help but think that if this is way a customer is treated to their face, then how is the food treated when I can’t see it. There are too many places that do things right to bother with this sort of stuff.

Currently my favorite sandwich shop on the island. We had the Enzo, Gobbler and I took a Roast Beast to go. Every sandwich was incredible. My favorite was the Enzo.
We also had the Toasty Bacon Fluffernutter which tasted really good but was way too dense for a dessert. It felt like I ate a whole other meal.
The staff was really pleasant and helped suggest something for my two year old to eat.
I love this place!
I’m curious how this place stacks up to Defontes which just opened up in the north shore.

I haven’t heard of this place until I received their menu in the mail. Their creative menu items were enticing enough for me to take a trip there the next day. Very well worth it!
The first time I went for lunch which I had The Gobbler. I think the cranberry mayo with the turkey is genius! It was a made perfectly and tasted delicious. Just two days later I went for breakfast, which I had the prosciutto, egg, and cheese (they also add arugula). The egg was beautifully cooked and runny. The only thing I would have liked was a little more prosciutto, which is practically the highlight of the dish.
All in all, this is a fantastic spot to grab breakfast or lunch. Between the humble staff and creative menu items, it makes up for a lovely experience.

My friend recommended me to go to this place– they have a pretty interesting breakfast and lunch menu. I was happy to hear they serve breakfast all day too! I bought two sandwiches– the Enzo and sausage and peppers on a toasted hero. Their sandwiches are good to share with two people or if you’re really really hungry. Their portions are huge. I liked the Enzo, not too heavy on the meat, lots of shredded lettuce. It was perfect. The sausage peppers and rabe sandwich was just Ok. I would’ve liked more broccoli rabe and less sausage. I kept chewing the casing of the sausage with every bite, so I had to remove the it from each sausage before eating it. Bought some donuts from them as well. Cannoli cream filled, a Boston cream, and a PB&J. They even make their own version of the cronut. Can’t wait to go back and try it!

We have been ordering from Enzo and Tinos since they opened. At first the service and food was extraordinary, the past 5 times we ordered (we order weekly as we are a local business) the service have declined significantly. Earlier today, i called to place a lunch order for 6+ people like we do weekly and get a response from the woman on the phone «we don’t deliver today our driver called out, i have a customer» click and hung up on me. that is no way to treat a customer let alone someone who patronizes the establishment as much as i/​my company does. i will do what i can to make sure that no one that works in my office orders from this place until the clean their act up.
After reading other views i noticed it wasnt just my opinion that other people have the same experiences.

This place has totally gone down hill. From the food to the baked good and especially the service. Spent 15 minutes this week just for baked goods with no line there as the one frazzled girl struggled with everything from getting orders out of back to cash register. While I don’t know if it was an owner or delivery person was just standing there. on the. phone watching. her…for what this place is turning into they’re way overpriced. I won’t be going back. Owners are letting this place go to hell.

I have eaten in picked up and have had food delivered it was delicious all times. There macaroni and cheese ball potato croquets and the bruschetta balls are out of this world! The roast beef is a must try but I would suggest you split the sandwiches they are very big.

Packed up the kids for Saturday breakfast and got their at 10 to 9. Place was closed even though the hrs on the door said Saturday 8am to 9pm. Waited until 10 after nine and still not open even though there was an employee inside. Felt it was a bad omen so we left.
Hrs on Unilocal say open 7 am.
1 star for not keeping both sign on door and online info up to date.

Good sandwich but they are cheap with the meat. If you order prosciutto it barely has any in it. For $ 11.50 one would expect a great sandwich. Overpriced and under delivered.

Came here for some quick pastries early in the morning, it was good the pastries which was rainbow cookies and these like chocolate covered reeses pretzels. They were still bringing out fresh baked goods so I didn’t get to see much but to know everything was coming out from the back and it was all just out the oven is def. a good thing! I will come back and update this review when I get to try there menu and eat some of there food.

I went with the sweets. The PB&J doughnut was ok, the peanut butter was thick and the jelly came rushing out, so it was more of a ½ jelly, ½ peanut butter doughnut. The nutella doughnut was nothing special, the doughnut dough was comparable to dunkin donuts.
The chocolate croissant was flaky, but too dry. The dinner roll filled with canoli cream… I’d avoid that. The cream in mine tasted sour and disgusting.
The real highlight for me was the carrot cake. Nuts and raisins in a dense cake with not overly sweet cream cheese frosting. Awesome.
I guess I missed out not getting any bread or a sandwich.

I have been to E&T’s 5 times in the past week and a half. Tried just about every sandwich. Everything is consistent in taste, with multiple ingredients in all items, not once has one over powered another. Super fresh on all fronts and will CLEARLY separate them from others you have tried.
Staff– super friendly, went in at 7 and were more than happy to make 6 full sandwiches which had me going back for more. Only reason for 4 stars– wish they were open later.

I have to review this new business first!!! This place is amazing. Been coming here for 3 days in a row now. The girls that work here are exceptionally nice and sweet… Their pudgies were amazing beyond belief. I could not believe how fresh and how much filling they had inside.
Tried their breakfast sandwich this morning also. This was also sooo delish. Please check them out… Their pizza in the afternoon is wonderful also!!!
