Best place ever! They are the sweetest people and the food is always amazing. Mole sauce is really good. They are great about making dishes vegetarian/vegan.

I enjoyed my dinner here, including enchiladas with their amazing mole sauce, shrimp with tequila-mango sauce, chilaquiles, and yummy margaritas. Waitress was especially nice and very helpful in explaining some of the items on the menu. The restaurant had a nice, homey atmosphere as well. I would definitely come back to try some of their other dishes.

This is a review on their delivery service, and food. On 5⁄5 at 8:01 I ordered food from the restaurant on under the impression it would take 30 – 45 minutes to deliver as indicated. I planned my evening around this timing. Food did not show up until 1 hr 30 min later, and plans were ruined as my husband and I were grumpy, starving, and wasted 30 minutes trying to contact the restaurant. No one at the restaurant had the respect to contacted us to let us know the food was running late, and when we tried calling the phone number listed(347) 855‑2668)), the phone rang and rang with no answer… I kept trying for a total of 30 minutes with no answer. As you can imagine, this was very frustrating while hungry! When the food finally arrived 1 hour 30 minutes after placing the order, it was smashed, soggy, and cold(see pictures). Terrible food, terrible communication by the restaurant, and terrible delivery service. First and last time ordering here.

Had the veg. burrito and margarita. The veg. burrito came smothered with red and green chile sauce(like in New Mexico!). Margarita had more tequila than sweet soury syrup crap that you get at most place. The walk here from the ferry stop is a little shady in night, few people approached us asking for a «dollar» and making comments.

3.5 stars, round up. My boyfriend and I have been to Fiesta Poblana a couple of times. Fiesta Poblana is very unpretenditious and has a relaxed ambiance. We particularly enjoy the cocktails. It is too bad they no longer serve their piña margaritas or piña coladas in an actual pineapple. :/ The food here is meh. The rice and beans lacks seasoning. I’ve sampled most dishes and highly recommend the Salmon in Chipotle Sauce… it is outstanding! Other than that, the food here is a hit or miss. There is definitely room for improvement, but we will be back.

Great food and drinks! Recommend for Texmex in Staten Island. Their hibiscus margarita and steak quesadillas are delicious. Reminded me of my favorite place in Dallas.

I went after finding a check in deal on Unilocal 15% off. It was Friday at noon, and the restaurant was in walking distance from the apartment– I said what the hey. I am raised in NY, long island is much different from staten island though. I can only describe victory blvd as running the gammit on eclectic storefronts. There’s a cold stone and architectural firm on the same block that look out of place against the remainder of the mom’s and pops Mexican places, sri Lankan places, etc. None of the sidewalks are kept especially clean and the block is undergoing the start of gentrification. The outside of the restaurant could draw more attention to itself if spruced up. The inside has orange paint, chipped away in some portions by the chairs being backed up against the walls. The tables are cheap but the chairs are sturdy and comfortable. The décor is what you would expect of a traditional Mexican place, with tvs to watch if wanted. I walked in and there were two people working by the register. Reggaeton was playing at a moderate level. I asked if I could sit, and the lady said yes. I was promptly served, ordered a michelada(authentic and delicious with modelo as my beer of choice). I ordered salad with avocado(the salad was shredded, nothing outstanding, the avocado was good, some tomatoes that were on their last legs). I ordered the shrimp with garlic and white wine sauce and yellow rice as per the waitress’ recommendation. The portion was just enough(medium sized shrimp with tail on, and 1 cup of rice). There was plenty of chopped garlic however the dish lacked enough salt and did not have much depth. It tasted of literally the two ingredients mentioned. I asked for hot sauce and was brought a trio: red sauce, green cilantro sauce and one with fresh jalapenos and onions. This added a new element to the dish and complimented the food very nicely along with some additional salt and pepper. The rice was bland. I think I will try some of the other recommendations I read on other Unilocal reviews next time. I loved that all quesadillas, enchiladas and flautas had the option to add shrimp– which actually is hard to find in other Mexican places in this area. I will try this place out on a weekend night to see how the ambience changes from the day to night. No complaints about the waitress/owner? except the vibe was that the two were hoping to get some work done before lunch time started and I was an unexpected guest even though they open at 1130am. oh! Tres leches cake was TODIEFOR. Got shrimp flautas for my friend waiting at the apartment which he said were absolutely delicious.

Came here on a groupon deal during the summer. It’s not in a so great neighborhood, but who cares, best to come before the sun goes down… lol!!! The food is delicious, refreshing, authentic and service is awesome. Off to the food. The chilaquilles with eggs are awesome, just as great as you would get them in Mexico or Brooklyn. I had ordered a seafood dish and meat dish at another time. Both dishes were delectable and fingerlicking delicious. The service was so great. Our waitress at the few times we’ve been there were very helpful, kind and accommodating. We brought our 15 month old at the time, she’s in at a rambunctious stage, the workers were very nice, patient and kind to my little lovely terror. Their margaritas were delicious, not too strong or weak just right. Good price for drinks… not too crazy. Almost forgot, they’re tres Leche is soo delicious it would be the only thing I’d come back to eat there. I tried the crêpe dessert, the tres Leche was way better. Not too sweet, it was soo moist n right amount of goodness in there. You will enjoy your dish and the waitresses service. They are on top of their game.

Excellent Saturday night dinner ! This is our second time here and it won’t be the last. We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. The waitress was very attentive but not overbearing. Started with home made chips and salsa KILLER! Tonight’s special was pork ribs with green sauce rice and beans YUMMY. The dish had perfect amount of heat and so much flavor. We also ordered their tacos — tongue, pork and chicken(there are other options like salted meat and carne asada) perfectly portioned they can be either an appetizer or a main dish. Desert– although a little heavy for our liking was also good. Definitely a place to keep going back to just to try another item off their menu.

Came back again but this time was to dine in with a groupon deal! Amazed food and service! It was just too much food to eat! And so good! Especially the fresh guacamole and the spicy pork tacos!!! The pinapple margarita was so cute and delicious! Also had the option to eat the pineapple itself! Will be coming for more and definitely recommended!

It’s not often that when waiting for dinner you find yourself counselor to your waitstaff. There was something of a sweet desperation about her… something nice and very honest, and if she had kept the conversation to her thoughts about NYC generally, I don’t think I would have noticed. But the barbed comments about her coworker did start to wear. The food on the other hand(I had come in search of mole), was delicious. The mole itself neared on great. Perhaps even worth the counseling session. The rice and beans? meh, but in combo with the guacamole? Stellar. All in all, it seems like someone knows what they’re going when hiring cooking staff, but not so much when hiring wait staff.

A new place to order from! I’m so happy to have another option outside of pizza and chinese. Ordered the skirt steak. Ordered it medium rare and it was cooked exactly right. Came with a tequila cream sauce and mushrooms. $ 17.95 and brought to my door! Guacamole was just the right amount of spicy and fresh. Came with two big bags of fresh tortilla chips. Salsa was also delicious. My only complaint is that delivery took a while, but in fairness it was Friday night. You’re able to order directly through the Unilocal app too! They’ve also been on groupon for a while

I’m only giving this place 2 stars not based on food, but on service. Our waitress was either new, or she didn’t care. Took a while for anything to come out from the bar or the kitchen. The bus boy was really our only saving grace. Also, at the end of the meal, my husband split the check with our friend, but he got charged twice and our friend not at all. In regards to the food, it’s regular Mexican food. It’s good, don’t get me wrong. You will not be disappointed if you want Mexican, but I was looking for something a little more authentic. Go if you’re in the area, but I’m not sure I’ll be making the trip again.

I enjoyed my meal and sangria here, but I wasn’t as completely blown away as I expected based on previous reviews. I had the shrimp with tequila-mango sauce. I enjoyed it, but there wasn’t anything very memorable about it. The sauce was a little on the sweet side for me, I would’ve like a little more heat. We also had the guacamole. Again, it was good but not spectacular. I had a glass of the red sangria and it was good. The service could’ve been better. Our waitress was a little aloof. We split the bill on two separate cards, and one of us ended up getting double charged while the other wasn’t charged at all. I’ll go back and give it another try. I am very interested in trying the coconut margarita!

I would have given Fiesta Poblana four stars if there were a couple of other marks met, but for now I have to give it three. I’ll start with the highlights of our experience: Service was friendly and warm– she has personality, and was willing to make recommendations and answer questions. Nice atmosphere– unpretentious yet clean and charming. Mole sauce– stellar. A hint of chocolatey flavor with a deep raisiny tone that was just delicious. I’ve had«mole» sauce at another local restaurant and it just pales in the flavorful goodness of Fiesta Poblana’s. It is solely the mole sauce that would have me consider bumping my review up to four stars. The«could be better“s: Guacamole– I wanted to like it, but it was extremely bland, as in, «no taste whatsoever». We even order the«medium» rather than the mild, and there was no taste. Now, I know avocado typically doesn’t have much of a taste to begin with, but if you’re not going to do your guac up so that it tantalizes the tastebuds, there is no point whatsoever in ingesting those calories! Refried beans– nothing«wrong» with them, but they also weren’t a shining part of the meal. No better or worse than those I’ve tasted at other restaurants. Well, maybe a step up from some. The chicken(on the bone) special was as bland as the guacamole. The verdict? I’d go back for another try, but because there are so many other restaurants I haven’t tried yet, I’m not very motivated to do so. If a friend selected the place for a meal, I would certainly be happy with the opportunity to try it again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way on my own to try it again… at least not until I’ve scratched a few others off my list first.

So many new restos opening up on the North Shore… what goes on?! Alas, Unilocal reviews brought us here and a sweet Unilocal deal helped us stay for dinner: We started off with a pitcher of sangria — delicious and filled to the brim with fruit. Not bad for $ 25. and props to the waiter for fishing every last pineapple chunk out of the pitcher when he saw me picking it out of my glass with my fingers #classy Fiesta Nachos were next… cheesy jalapeño topping with standard fixins, but out of this world with seasoned steak. For the entrée, I got the Camarones Hornitos, or jumbo shrimp with a tequila-mango sauce. The shrimp was standard, but the sauce was ridiculous… I wound up mushing all my rice and salad up into it so I could get every last drop. My friend got the Chilaquiles Nortenos, the authentic Mexican«breakfast» with fried eggs over steak which he really liked too. Dessert was the densest, most flavorful tres leches I’ve ever had in NYC. Almost good enough to justify parking on Jersey Street after 7pm on a weekend night. Almost. One star docked for the cacaphony of construction happening throughout the course of the meal. At one point the waiter was yelling over the sound of a chainsaw. At least they promise to be fully renovated by Cinco de Mayo. And for that, I shall return.

What a hidden gem! Don’t let the outside deceive you! Food, drinks, and service were all outstanding. The guacamole was made fresh to order. I had the chimechanga and it was hands down the best I have ever had. You can taste the fresh ingredients in each bite. The waitress was super friendly and made our dinner such a delight. I will definitely be going back here. This is my new favorite go-to spot!

When I heard that the(good) disbanded folks from Mama Mexico regrouped and were opening up a new place, I was stoked. Finding out it crossed the water from Manhattan to Staten Island was… disappointing(soo far away!). Walking into Fiesta Poblana reminded me of the first season of Star Trek TNG — it was still finding it’s way… but you knew it was going to be good. The restaurant was still incomplete but the essence was great. We had some guacamole, split some dishes. The guacamole was very good(and didn’t cost an arm and a leg) and the dishes were beautifully crafted. The décor was bright and lively… but no yet complete(you could still smell the fresh paint). The management was very attentive and hungry for feedback. I expect good things to come — which apparently may include booze and a live mariachi — and will definitely be back.
