Il Sogno

We were going out to eat and some friends took us to Il Sogno. I enjoyed it so much I have been back three more times. I have had fish and steak, each time has been enjoyable. The service was good and the staff friendly.

My wife and I went to dinner this evening. we have been regular diners there since the restaurant opened and have always enjoyed the food. While the crowd has always been a good fellows type tonight was the last straw. Rude obnoxious people who have no consideration for fellow diners. If you request a special table with plenty of notice don’t expect to get it. The owner gave us some lame excuse that he need the table and put in between to large table of which we could not even hear ourselves. while the food was ok the place is not what it was.
We actually had to move our table because the people next to us were on top of us while they were standing and talking to friends. This place is no longer a fine dining spot.
There is better on Staten Island try Bochelli on Hylan Blvd if you want good food and a better element of people.
My wife said we should have gone there-​she was right. The one thing is we will NEVER go there again.

Very good service & the food was good too. I have been there on Saturday evenings & enjoyed the entertainment. Usually a singer or two with music behind them too. A little pricey.

EHH! Just okay and not worth the money. Service and reception are poor and actually uninviting. Setting is cold and impersonal. Staff completely turned us off. Food was nothing to brag about.

I shouldn’t have to say more than I ordered the swordfish as a special and it was raw. Instead of giving me a new plate, they cooked it again and added a new mashed potatoe. Really??? It’s fish which takes a few minutes in a half empty restaurant and do you have more respect for the quality of your food or a little respect for the customer and their health. Chicken is harder to cook. I also see someone left a comment about the staff being rude. I think it’s because they’re not the brightest and lack common sense. Just call the restaurant and normally if you speak to anyone other the woman hostess, you’ll have a difficult time getting an answer. To add to the night the photographer takes a picture and then says $ 15 please. I should have taken one of him and said $ 25 please lol

I used to be a regular. However, not any more as the business has gone down. It’s not what it used to be and I heard this feeling expressed by many I know. Frequent changes in chefs have seen the food drop off, portions smaller, prices fluctuate it seems depending upon night and waiter, noise level is too high and forgot about parties as you can book a year in advance and on day get put into room thirty minutes late, and then rushed out on time to get others in. It’s sad, it used to be a top spot, but their priorities have changed and I can’t in good faith recommend it anymore.

Went here for Mothers Day, a party of four. The food was good service a little slow and had to ask for bread, which came out of the microwave. So that means rubber bread. The menu was fixed at $ 55 per person. Fair enough. The drink prices where very high. I can deal with that also. What turned me off to this place was when I received the check which was $ 398.55. Now I don’t mind spending $ for good food but the fact that they added on $ 63 for a tip on a party of four is ridiculous. I always tip heavy when it is warranted but to add A 20% tip automatically on a table of four is wrong. Check your bill when you go here. The food was good but pricy but I knew that before I went. The inflated tip pisses me off. If it wasn’t Mothers Day something would have been said.

Went there for the first time and was very impressed. We came after the time for the price fix dinner and they gladly agreed to allow us to order from that menu. Food was tasty and the service was great. The staff was so attentive, too. The live music added a nice extra. All of the food was cooked to perfection.
Can’t wait to go back.

Went there this weekend with family for a birthday celebration. I loved the atmosphere. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food quality was really out of this world. It was my first time there but I already am putting this on my new favorites list. I had an amazing broccoli rabe appetizer, a wonderful beef wellington and an incredible dessert. I even loved the frangelico cappucino. Really great place for family or date night.

Nothing but the best at il sogno. One of my top favorites on the island. The Fusilli alla sogno is my FAVORITE dish. The food is excellent, drinks are great & service outstanding. This goes for both having dinner here, as well as a party. Sometimes with big groups the service lacks but that is NOT the case here. I booked my engagement dinner party for about 35 people at a restaurant in NJ on the beach in Long Branch (see other reviews lol) and last minute had to cancel. Il sogno came to the rescue just 2 weeks in advance. It was a great evening with the private room. All my guests loved the food. They give so much– which of course is a great thing! All my guests left FULLL & most importantly pleased. My fiancé & I started going here because we knew Pedro, the owner, from other restaurants he worked at and he really is the best. A genuine person who looks out for the best interests of his customers. He deserves the best with all his success in the restaurant. Many restaurant owners should take notes from him. The hospitality you feel at a restaurant is just as important as how good the food is. They have entertainment which is nice, more so for an older crowd though. But it’s great either way. The night of my engagement dinner, people in the restaurant part were up dancing as it got later into the evening. But if you’re not into that at a restaurant its ok you can just sit in the other room. The outside area is in the parking lot but it is set up very nicely ever since they redid that lot. I am excited to go back already. A must try! Five stars well deserved.

Great meal. My friend and I dined off the prix fixe menu and the amount of food they gave you was incredible. Everything was delicious. The staff was very professional and attentive, particularly Anna. The owner walked around greeting everyone. I would definitely go back.

Went here for lunch (7) of us. Food was great and so was the staff.

This italian jewel use to be the location of Angelina’s. But owner Pedro has kept this hot spot and fabulous place to bring a special someone on a romantic date, or have a party for your son or daughter’s first communion or christianing, Either way this restaurant is a must go to!!!
