Food good, but I think they changed from previous owner, called fortune garden, but would recommend to go

Yes! its as good as it gets! WONDERFUL from start to end! We(17 people!) came here for Chinese New Year(landed on a monday so we got the 2 for $ 45 special, so that was even better!). It was truly a nice way to celebrate CNY with a modern feel. The service was amazing! I jokingly was asking«Who is Jac Mao?» and the waiter says«Well I’m Jac and my dad is Mao. So Jac Mao». OMG the owner was serving us! Very humble and enjoyed serving us for this special occasion. Everything came our nice, hot, and fresh! The appetizers were yummy, the entrees were all so good(we all put our dishes together in the middle to make it family style lol). Dessert was awesome and don’t forget a free bottle of wine for every 2 people with this special they had. I came home so full with leftovers. As a chinese-american, this food is beyond«basic». It was pretty good! Definitely would come again!

great service paired with great food… paired with a great DEAL!(mon — wed special!!!) Came here with a large group for dinner so the special was amazing & really gives you a little bit of everything. All the food that came to the table was delicious and hot. We especially loved both the soy glazed and the buffalo(asian) style wings, they were crispy and very flavorful– a definite must try! Entrees were tasty and not too oily(which you tend to find with chinese food) TIP: we pre-ordered the crispy chicken — perfectly cooked super tasty even the white meat — authentic Chinese flavors throughout. Plus you cant beat the great customer service at this joint — you get a family feel here and it was a pleasure to have dinner here!

So I been living on this island for over 15years an I passed this location over a million times. So sad bc this place is huge an shocking enough very good Chineese food. I was totally shocked. As entering the décor was cool nothing fancy I was feeling the tv projectors(2) an the staff was over loaded with not that many tables so you know my water never went past a half a glass an they kept asking if I wanted more Mai tai lOl um no I’m not trying to get drunk thank you. Appetizers came out very fast an steaming hot, but my main dishes took a while but when did arrive I was blown away for it being so good ESP for Staten Island you don’t really eat good Chineese food out here. Server wasn’t one of my favorites but the runners an bussers did there things. My glass was always filled an my table was always cleaned of unused Plates etc. Also a bit over priced Not a place where I’d be like I have to go an come back it’s a must, but it’s decent.

I came here on a recommendation from a friend, but all I can say is JUSTOKAY. It’s your basic Chinese food restaurant, with slightly better than average décor, but with average food. The food itself was a little bland, but the presentation was nice. Customer service was excellent, and I never felt like my water glass got to below 1⁄3 full because they were always walking by. I might come back here, but I wouldn’t make a special trip for it. We ordered seafood soup(too hot), singapore mei fun(too bland), seafood eggroll(okay), shrimp dumplings(better than average). If I do return, I’d try different dishes and maybe my perception will change.

The food and service here is excellent! We had the shredded General Tso’s chicken, shrimp with xo sauce and Mongolian Beef. The portions were huge and made from choice meat. I always order General Tso’s when I order Chinese and this was by far the best I’ve tried. The shrimps were huge and cooked perfectly. We didn’t have to wait long for our food either and the owner and waiters were very friendly. I will definitely be back soon!

Best Chinese food on Staten Island. The place is always clean and they deliver the food quickly so when you receiver it it’s still hot.

A extra nice night at Jac’s tonight. As always food was excellent and tasty beverages too. But the big surprise was to see a long time favorite entertainer guitar and singer Arturo Vera(remember Carmans?) sitting up front strumming away. Hope he sticks around and some of his followers find him here.

I order from them a lot, but the noodles are always stale so this time I decided to call them about it. They denied it and blew me off right away. They didn’t even consider my complaint and were very arrogant and condescending about it. So much for helping the customer. What a poor attitude about the whole thing. Very disappointing, but not surprising. They really thing who the hell they are.

Jac Mao Chinese Cuisine is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend that you give them the opportunity to serve you, whether you dine in, or take out. Their food is impeccable. The staff, in restaurant dining, as well as, takeout are quite professional. Easy to reach in the Dongan Hills section of Staten Island; and there is on site parking. Tell Jac that John Siracusa recommended that you dine at his fine restaurant. Enjoy. They also have a really nice bar, and TV.

Since Fortune Garden left I am not a fan anymore. Prices Are higher and food is not as good. Front desk is not friendly, it’s obvious they only cared about getting my $ instead was rude and a turn off… I miss Fortune Garden

I went here last weekend with my husband and daughter for dinner after work, greeted right away, service was excellent, waiter was very attentive, pretty interior, menu was very varied, which was wonderful. I chose a new special the crispy Mongolian beef. What a great choice, such good flavor, my husband got the sesame chicken, very good too. My daughter got the rainbow chicken, very tasty. We also had wonton and egg drop soup, delicious. The. Noodles they give you right away when you sit down are probably the best I’ve had. We also had the pork belly sliders served on a Chinese bun. Really great flavor. Overall I think this is the best chinese food I’ve had in a very long time. Will be going back soon.

Fantastic!!! I love great Chinese food and this is one of those places! The waiters are dressed in suits and they are attentive to the customer and their needs. Their sesame chicken is awesome and their Grand-Mariner shrimp is worth every bite! For those with ceiliac problems they offer gluten free options! Just ask the waiter.

Great service and amazing authentic Chinese food. Dumplings, scallion pancakes were on point. Sesame chicken was okay. Would be better if it was more crispy. Otherwise will def order again

If the noodles are good then I know I’ll like the food — usually, and it was so true in this case. From beginning to end we were very pleased with everything. Greeted, seated and accommodated perfectly. Food is fresh, hot and very tasty. Egg roll was super yummy. Very attentive service, and I absolutely loved the warm cleaning cloth after the meal. And the best surprise at the end were those crispy«chocolate» fortune cookies! What?

We can say that we have been in a quest for good Chinese food for a long time. This place has certainly met our every expectation from our first greet at the door by their manager. We were very lucky to meet and also be seated by an excellent waiter name Kenny. Mr. Kenny introduced great recommendations and also compliments for the dishes we had. The food was excellent. The service excellent. We will certainly be back and are very glad my love has found this place. We highly recommend it, after all great dishes, table cloth professional service, very good prices. I usually don’t indulge in deserts but Kenny managed to make a great recommendation when it cane to that as well. Make it a place you must come to as well. Happy Restauranting!

Really like this place. Have never really eaten in a Chinese restaurant before, so Jac Mao was a good place to start. To begin, the service was professional. Drink orders were taken and delivered automatically, and dishes were cleared off systematically. The décor is a bit dated, and the boots are kind of far from the table, so I had to remove one star. But it is in no means a deal breaker. Had the wanton in brown sauce, the steamed shrimp dumplings, the Pork Lo mein, the beef & broccoli, and the three peppered chicken. I have to say that we loved everything we ordered. Everything was well seasoned and not the kind of greasy you get from your standard takeout order. I am not from SI, so I can’t compare Jac Mao to other Chinese restaurants nearby. I will say, however, that it’s probably the best Chinese food that I’ve had. In short — seems authentic, fresh, and tasty. Would return.
