Jacquie’s Bridal

Jacquie was a pleasure to work with. She made the whole dress experience wonderful for my bridal party, my flowergirls and my mother. She was very helpful and accomodating to every need the whole time. Thank You so much Jacquie, Brides if youre looking for a great bridal shop, definitely try Jacquie!

This woman is a real trip. Everyone in my friend’s bridal party had an issue with her. She is judgmental & just plain rude. When I went for my 2^nd fitting (to get alterations) on my bridesmaid dress, she had it pinned way too tight to the point where I couldn’t breathe properly. I said «please take it out, this is too tight for me.» The woman rolled her eyes and snarkily remarked «Oh I guess some girls want to go for comfort & not what looks good.» I was DUMBFOUNDED. I said «It looks fine, now unpin me.» The nerve. I know other people who have had problems with her. She just isn’t a nice lady & shouldn’t be working in direct contact with people until she gets an attitude adjustment. In the meantime, hire a secretary or front desk clerk!

The customer service here is less than pleasing. The woman seems as though she has too much to do and can not keep up and more customers are just slowing her down. I brought my gown there for alterations at the end of Feb and by the middle of May I still hadn’t heard anything. I went to the shop and my dress was done, but not the belt. I tried on the dress and yeah $ 522.00 spent on alterations that were horrible. My brand new dress had snags everywhere, you can clearly see the cuts, she left pins in the dress, the shoulders and bust area were cut too small, and some of the loops for the buttons on the back where broken. When I asked her about all of this her response was, «That’s what happens with alterations». I’m still not sure what that means. So, long story short if you have five hundred bucks to waste I will gladly take it off your hands, but if you want to spend that money on quality alterations I would not recommend this place.

Surprisingly this was the best bridal experience I had on the island. I was hesitant because it’s a tiny store in the Nome plaza, but after two bad shops at the «fancier» bridal shops I was willing to try the opposite. Jacquie was so sweet, patient and helpful. She pulled so many dresses and suggested beautiful dresses that were different from what I was looking for to show me all styles. She is a seamstress so she is able to alter the dresses to make them custom. She has a lot of really nice Maggie Sottero dresses that I liked. Even though I wanted to support a local business I just didn’t have that feeling about any of the dresses. I highly recommend a simple island bride to look here.

I’ve interacted with Jacquie’s Bridal over the past few months to get a bridesmaids dress, and the experience has been overwhelmingly poor. I received one-​sentence e-​mails regarding important issues related to size and length of the dress, and when I responded with questions I received no response and would have to call them by phone. They told me I needed a dress that was 2 sizes bigger than my normal size, and assured me that sometimes the dresses run small. When I received the dress, it was comically large on me (I could slip in and out of it without un-​zipping). The woman, as usual, was extremely rude and short with me when I called her to ask about it – talking over me, not listening to what I was saying. I would not recommend using Jacquie’s Bridal for a bridal party.

I went in the store without appt for mother of the groom dress. The store is small with minimal selection. The lady there was just ok apathetic. She gave me four dresses to try on. When I was down to my underwear I noticed the security camera pointed over the door directly at the mirror. I am not positive what exactly was being recorded. I dressed and left.

Jacquie is extremely helpful and knows exactly what she is doing! Never encountered anyone nasty or grumpy.
I was late for an appointment and she stayed after hours to make sure everything was exactly what I wanted!!!

I went into Jacquie’s Bridal this past weekend to see if I could get an off the rack dress for my 30^th birthday. The selection was small and the woman who worked there was incredibly rude. She asked if she could help me and when I told her what I’m looking for, in a snobbish tone she said «we don’t carry sizes as big as yours» and proceeded to help another costumer that was in the store. She acted as though I was a waste of her time and not good enough to shop in her store.
