This place doesn’t have all the wines, but it has the right ones. Everyone that works here has a passion for wine. The staff will help you pick the right bottle, or leave you alone to browse. Wine tastings on Fridays are a plus. They actually open some pretty decent bottles. Buy a bottle as a gift and they will make it «gifty» for you.

Jean’s is a great wine shop — very friendly, helpful people. They spend their time with you helping you pick out the perfect bottle if you’re not sure exactly what you want. Their selection is excellent, with all different price points.
There’s a lot of regular clients who you’ll see if you start to go there — recognizing faces in a store is a good sign, in my mind. The cat is also a great incentive for visiting :)

A great cozy little wine shop, with a very nice selection of wines at various price points. I especially enjoy shopping here when Jean is working, but her staff is also just as courteous and knowledgeable. Recently I read an article about hard apple sparkling ciders and checked just about everywhere, as I wanted to get a taste. Jean’s had a nice bottle that I enjoyed basically for the fun of trying.

Excellent selection of wines, and very knowledgeable staff, especially Michael — who gives me the best recommendations. Nice range of prices, and even have a good «value» rack with some decent picks. Only problem is that I always end up walking out with more wine than I planned on buying! ;-)

If you’re not sure what to get just ask — these folks all really know their stuff. The free tastings every Friday are also a great way to get acquainted with Wine if you’re a novice and the selection of other liquors is quite good.

Visited Jean’s shop a few weeks ago looking for something to bring to a holiday dinner party…
I found out she had a good selection of spirits as well as an excellent selection of inexpensive, mid-​quality wines. Her selection is partial to Italian wines, but this _​is_​Staten Island after all. She suggested 2 bottles and I ended up taking 3 with me. All were decent and reasonably priced. The other customers all seemed like regulars which is always a positive indicator.
She inherited the cat when she purchased the shop from the previous owners. Gotta love small businesses. What happens to cats during corporate takeovers?

Great little wine store, used to be a liquor store, but now they’re riding the wave of rising wine popularity in the States.
The guy on staff when I went definitely knows his stuff. Go here and get the wine you need, or didn’t even know you needed. Walked away with a great bottle of value priced white Bordeaux. Honeyed steel in a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc-​cum-​Semillon. Niceeeee…
