Amazing Vietnamese food! Went here based on Unilocal reviews & it did not disappoint! Dinner for 2 with an appetizer for $ 20 is a steal. Great quality of meat and all veggies were fresh!

The staff are friendly and the food is amazing. The phở with grilled pork chops are amazing. Make sure you are hungry because it is a lot of food for a great price. Recommend to anyone who likes phở.

Delicious Vietnamese food with excellent service. Owners are welcoming and dishes are served quickly for a great price. This is always my go to choice when I’m craving a savory and hearty meal in the winter. I usually order the rice vermicelli with 2 grilled pork chops or phở beef noodle soup with fresh basil. I must say, I don’t know what they use to marinate the pork chops but it is simply AMAZING every time.

After dining at Phở Rainbow for the first time I can honestly say that it’s a crime that this place isn’t packed every night. Incredibly fresh food and a very personable staff that likes to engage with their customers and talk about the menu, and makes recommendations for folks who have never experienced Vietnamese food before. The mindset at Phở as described by our waiter is to keep the menu small and make what’s on the menu the best it can be. Usually, we patronize Phở Mac on Rchmond Ave. and though it’s pronunciation is «fa» we like to call it «faux» because it’s just a cuter name. Sorry, got a bit sidetracked… We started with what we usually order at Phở Mac: crispy squid, spring rolls, then our phở. Crispy Squid: battered and coated with salt and pepper this had to be the most tender squid I’ve had in my life. absolutely fresh, not in the least bit chewy and filled with flavor. Spring Rolls: admittedly, these were not my favorite, I prefer the ones at phở Mac, but my GF strongly disagreed. they were fresh, the dipping sauce was great but it wasn’t my taste. Not a negative(my GF has a much more evolved palette than I do), just not for me. Phở: she had phở with brisket, I had the beef noodle soup with shredded pork on the side. both were fantastic! we only had tea and water, and at the end our meal came out to $ 29 before tip. Definitely worth the trip, less than 50 feet from the new dorp train station stop. highly recommended.

Decided to take the scenic route back to Bucks from JFK and explore Staten Island. I really enjoyed the drive and realized that SI is much bigger than I imagined with urban, suburban, and historic locales. When my hunger alarm went off I found myself in the vicinity of Phở Rainbow, and followed the Unilocal directions to New Dorp. Found a place to park across the street along the railroad tracks, and went in. The shop has about ten tables and was clean and bright. The service was provided by two friendly women who appeared to be Chinese. They promptly brought over a pot of tea and a menu. A wide screen HDTV provided the rest of the entertainment. Perhaps, I should have gone with the Phở given the colorful name of the house, but I was feeling more adventurous in keeping with my exploration of the Island, so ordered the Com Thit Nurong Lap Xurong Apla(White Rice under Grilled Sliced Pork, Chinese Sausage, and Fried Egg). It arrived after a few minutes and looked good on an overflowing plate. There was plenty of BBQ styled pork that had a very good flavor. The Chinese Sausage was segmented and grilled, sharing some of the smoky taste of the pork. The Fried Egg was cooked too long and was thus a distinct piece of the combination as opposed to melding with everything else with oozing egg yolk. There was more Broken Rice than I could consume. While I was satisfied when I walked back to my car, my impression was that I had probably missed the star of the show here(phở), and had settled on something fairly mundane. It was okay, but did not instill a desire to return to try more dishes. If I found myself in this neck of the woods again, I would not avoid Phở Rainbow, but neither would I rush back for more.

As long as you know what to order this place is great! Grilled pork sandwich is probably they best thing they have, although I am still trying different things on the menu. I’ve tried the classic pork roll twice, and maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s gross. Besides that, friendly staff, clean place, and plenty of seating inside. If you’re looking for a nice change of pace from the usual New Dorp Italian food, check out this place!

The food here is actually not so bad. I used to have to drive to Phở Mac or out to Brooklyn for some phở, but thankfully I just discovered this place recently so when I’m craving some phở, I can just drive down the block for some! This place is good, I just favor Phở Mac more. The service there was better than it was here. I just hope they brush up on that, then I would’ve gave this place 5 stars. 4 stars for pretty decent Viet food tho!

Friendly service, great food. You can say this place is «phở-nomenal»! Vietnamese food done right. They don’t skimp on portion sizes and they always do their best to serve you. If you’ve never had Vietnamese food, always always ALWAYS go for the phở!(Hint hint: it should be #1 on the menu!)

After an enthusiastic and unprompted recommendation of a friend, I took myself and Ms Passive Aggressive to New Dorp to try out Phở Rainbow. Delicious ! What the restaurant lacks in décor, it makes up with huge portions of delicious food. We both had the grilled chicken Phở after starting with the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. I Have a thing about vietnamese Spring Rolls, and I’ve had them all over the world, these spring rolls top the list of the best I’ve ever had. Hands down. The phở was above standard, and the grilled chicken was probably at least 2x of a larger portion than one might expect for the price. The service was prompt and friendly, it is right near a train station and the only complaint I can muster, is that I did not know of this place sooner.

Yes. DELICIOUS. I love their springrolls here. Its just like Brooklyn’s! So from what I heard for all my fellow asians, in 8th ave bk, if you guys know where gia lam is on 54th, remember how there was 2 viet places next to each other? This is the one that was next to it that closed down. No wonder why it’s so good and authentic :) I come here atleast once every 2 weeks, my boyfriend loves it. :) highly recommended! i prefer this over phở mac hands down.

Yea for another Vietnamese spot in Staten Island! Friend and I ordered Phở, the spring rolls, tea with milk and a pork chop. Both of us were really happy with what I ordered. The phở here is better than Phở Mac,(the other Vietnamese spot here on the Island). The spring rolls had a little too much of the clear noodles in the filling, but still pretty good. Pork chop was also good. Nothing that I wouldn’t order again.

Tried this place 3 weeks ago because I was trying to find a phở place in the area. The phở here is amazing within 3 weeks this is my 4th time back. I tried the calamari today and really tender makes you realize other places over cook their calamari you will see the difference when you try it here. I stick with the beef phở which is amazing every time I get it. Got it for pick up last time and very impressed that they packed everything separate even the noodles are separate from the broth. This place knows what it’s doing and whoever wrote bad reviews should really I believe try it again!

This place has the best grilled pork chop up and down the east coast. The pork is so tasty and tender with the right amount of fat. The beef cube and fried rice was amazing!!! You can taste the«wok hei» of the beef and the fried rice had just the right consistency. We had the Vietnamese rice roll called bun cuon. Not many Vietnamese restaurants make this anymore. They do a fantastic job at Phở Rainbow! The crispy spring roll is fried to perfection. Best Vietnamese food in Staten Island!

Happy that they opened Vietnamese at New Dorp which is very convenient to me. The place is clean and cozy. Service is excellent! For the food I always order their pork chop which is so good and also their spring rolls. Their squids are a lil bit too salty for me.

Only been opened for a couple of months, an Authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the boondocks. It’s located near north Staten Island, in the middle of nowhere. But surprisingly, it’s getting the word out. I love the high quality beef cube entrée and hot simmering #1 beef noodle. The appetizer for the summer roll was amazing, the skin was soft and fresh. Great customer service. There were more than enough staff to get attention and service. Will definitely come back.

Came here on a rainy and chilly Thursday with high hopes to warm up with some phở. I ordered the #2 and was disappointed. The broth lacked flavor and it just tasted bland. This is a new restaurant so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again in the future. On the positive, the staff and service is friendly. Update 12÷3÷2015: I been coming here once a month for the past year and the food has improved a lot. The Phở is good(not the best I had) but the rice dishes is what shines here. Grilled chicken and pork is my favorite. The portions are very generous and good bang for the buck. Springs rolls are also very good. With that said, they get an extra 2 stars!

I was very excited to see another Vietnamese restaurant opened in Staten Island and I was sadly disappointed. I ordered the #1 soup bowl, which was okay. The broth was clearly missing something and tasted overly salty. The spring rolls were a pure horror, they were DRIPPING in oil, sloppy and way over powered with badly seasoned pork. Personally for the size of them I do think they are overly priced. I give it the benefit of the doubt because it did just open and ill try them again in a few months so hopefully they will improve.
