I just moved into staten island and the silver lake neighborhood last summer and didnt realize there was a dog park at first so as a dog owner you know how excited i was to see that there was one. Theres actually 3 runs all together but separated by gates: 1 large one where the large dogs usually go, middle small one where mainly people with aggressive or overly sensitive scared dogs go and the medium sized run where mainly smaller dogs go. You can go into any run you want it doesnt really matter it all depends on the dog but there are some usual owners who come frequently and complain about having their dog near other dogs because they are aggressive or are scared which is annoying and kind of ridiculous in my opinion. Con: occasionally you will have a owner complain and try to tell YOU to go into another run so they can hog up the large or medium sized one because their dog doesnt get along well with others smh. Pros: nice people there for the most part, a hangout spot for dog owners in the summer and spring evenings. Theres seating, bowls, toys and bags for people who.

I come here all the time with my babies Toby(Maltese) & Chew(shorkie), it is a great park open from 9am to 9pm I believe, and it is great when you want your pets to socialize, play, exercise and tire them out. My pups are small but they play with both big and small dogs and they have a doggy water fountain for them right outside the fence . It is a fenced In off-leash dog park with three different sections. I find it to be one of the best I have brought my dogs too.

I really liked this dog park the main reason is because its located in Silver Lake Park which is a beautiful park. This dog park is divided in three sections which is good to separate different size dogs. The park has a lot of grass which is nice for the dogs to sniff and play around. Its also a very large dog park. They have a pet water fountain outside the dog park area. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I notice that some of the dog owners were a little annoying about having their small dogs play with the big dogs or if the dogs would come up to them. People this is a dog park, if you don’t want strange dogs to come up to you then don’t come here and if you are concern about your small dog playing with larger breeds then move to the other side for smaller dogs. Apart from some over sensitive dog owners this park was great.

This is my favorite dog park on the island it’s very big there are three different areas for different dog sizes. There are always extra bags for dog waste, if you can’t find a bag in one of the gated areas there are two others to check. Personally I always carry my own why wouldn’t any respecting dog owner not? There are even Chairs to relax while you watch you fur baby. All the things in the park were from other pet owners who donated stuff for the park. Dog bowls and chairs and even the poop bags someone was complaining they didn’t have. There is even a dog water fountain. Which I never realized till recently. I live on the completely opposite side of the island and I will still Come to this park.

One of the bigger and by the looks of it heavily used dog runs I have found so far on Staten Island. Things it has going for it: — Good size runs — Separate large and small dog runs — Adequate fencing Things it has against it: — Dirt ground cover — No poop bags — No water — No double gate entry areas — Limited seating — Limited shade — No bathrooms for humans near run It has the size, just need to upgrade the entry areas, ground cover and bring in a dedicated water to both runs and this is a 3 star run in my opinion. Dog runs/parks I have been to so far:
