Sometimes, actually often, it doesn’t take much to make an experience memorable. The subtleties make for great stories because something small and seemingly insignificant, can be foretelling of something big and important. Case in point, The Vision Gallery, the place I came to after another place on the island left a «be-back-in-10mins» post-it on their storefront door. What did I need? A small simple thing for my sunglasses — a tiny screw on the nose ridge that holds the lenses in the frame. The gentleman managing the store(James, I think) greeted me with a smile and asked me to wait as he was servicing another customer. But only 3 short minutes later, he took my sunglasses, told me he’ll try to find a fitting screw, and in another short minute I was on my way to see life in comfortably tinted colors. I wasn’t charged anything for the service that took a blink of an eye to complete and required a tiny part to correct and that’s both, rare and refreshing. The modern world demands that good business be transacted through exchange of honest and engaging storytelling. My story is that I was taken care of the old-fashioned way, something I appreciate, find hard to forget, easy to remember, and likely to comeback to when I do have a real eyewear problem to deal with.

I Been using them quite some time now. James and his staff are wonderful. They know their stuff. Prices are reasonable. Parking is easy. They treat everybody who comes in like family. It’s just so nice. You don’t see that any where that often anymore. Update 10÷28÷15 went in for my 6:30 appt. Had my exam by Dr. Haber. Very thorough as usual answered all my questions. She is really nice. Proceeded to sit with James and pick out some frames. Got a nice pair of glasses with great crizal lenses. Top notch scratch, smudge resistance and best of all anti glare. Go in and let them show you the demo lens to see for your self. Got a sweet deal and gave me trial lenses because as usual I waited till I was down to one or two pairs. By the way, they carry a nice selection of sun glasses. They also have children’s glasses and ones for athletes.

Vision Gallery is a gem to find. I have been to several optometrists/optical shops in the past, but Vision Gallery is in a league of their own. My sister, who lives in Brooklyn, NY recommended me to them because I always complained that my eyeglasses were not always done right and I have to keep returning back to where I got them for re-adjustments. They have new style frames and impeccable service, and they take several insurance plans. James who attended to me is very professional and knowledgeable. He knows his stuff. He is meticulous in what he does. He makes sure that the frames fit the shape of my face and he gives his honest opinion, and not just trying to sell me the most expensive frames. He recommends frames from the low end to high end. He made sure that all my optical measurements are exactly centered. Vision Gallery is located in a strip mall that has very limited parking availability. There is no handicap accessible parking nor is the shop handicap accessible. I may live in Philadelphia, but I will travel all the way to Staten Island, NY for my eyeglasses because of the experience I have received. Thank you James and thank you also to The Vision Gallery.
