To me, there is still no better place on Staten Island to get fresh meat and everything that goes with it. Fresh pasta, meat and cheeses to make you drool. Stop by and pick up some great italian food

Everyone needs to stop complaining. Come to Brookyn where everything is way overpriced with little parking, you’ll be loving your little tomato then. I enjoy shopping here when I’m in Tottenville. Nice produce, frequent sales, nice cold cuts, olive oil, cheeses and Italian bread. It’s not a huge supermarket, but its more than adequate!

Nope. It’s not that hard to find decent produce and prepared food, so they’re not getting any stars for that. The guy who works the news stand really needs an attitude adjustment. I prefer to be able to accomplish more than one thing in a store I shop at, groceries and lotto and deli all in one is a good thing. If I can’t get one of those things done, I’ll go elsewhere. I wanted to cash in my scratch cards, then get some groceries and maybe another couple cards. I chose to do none of that because of the literal scowl on this d-bags face. He really is a miserable old mother. Top tomato, you lose business because of this guy.

I remember why I do not come here anymore. The cashiers are mean, and never say hello or thank you and God forbid they have a smile on their face. The stocker are always in their cell phones. The deli and fish guys are about the only one who have any customer service skills. Prepared food is good.

Top Tomato is always a quick shopping list stop for me. i can say the grocery section is fairly priced but anything off of a regular cold cuts, eggs, milk, and veggies can become pricey. This store is for the most part always stocked and busy allowing you to know the deli sections products are always moving. will continue my quick list at top tomato.

More like ROTTENTOMATO! Grand opening in Atlantic Highlands advertised lobster $ 4.99 lb, and«will steam for free». When I asked for 3 steamed lobsters he said they were $ 7.99 lb because they were already steamed. To get them for $ 4.99 I would have to get 3 live ones, have them weighed and then steamed so I said fine to do so. He said come back in 10 – 15 mins as folks were ahead of us. When I got home and opened the bag I noticed one of the lobsters only had one claw– well for $ 4.99 lb didn’t mind too much. However when we went to eat them, all three tails were mushy white nasty muck– not one was firm. All 3 were inedible and Im 99% sure all three were dead when they steamed them. I had noticed dead lobsters on the counter and assumed they were pulled out from the live ones NOT to be cooked and sold. I will never set foot in that place again which will be a much greater loss to their business then the $ 17 they bilked me out of for dead inedible lobster.

This review is based on their catering(yes, catering!) service. My workplace had a huge holiday party the other day and we needed a new place to get our hot food from. At about $ 10/person, Top Tomato gave us some really awesome, simple, hearty good food. I’m talking about down to earth blue-collar food, so don’t go thinking it’s filet mignon or anything. We had beef medallions in mushroom sauce, pepper steak, various pastas, roasted vegetables, stuffed eggplant, grilled chicken, chicken parm, and everyone’s hands down favorite item, breaded fried shrimp. Honestly, people couldn’t get enough of the shrimp, and I’m fairly certain it was just Italian seasoned breadcrumbs on butterflied shrimp. It was packed with immense flavor. All the beef dishes were incredibly tender! Not a single chewy piece out of the many, many portions I ate. Two thumbs up. The 5 star rating is not just for the tasty, simple food that appealed to the masses, but for the outstanding service we got. We dealt with Steve, who bent over backwards and went above and beyond for us. Because we had a huge party(~90 people) and bought additional food, he threw in some bread rolls, salad, and fruit. Oh, and plastic cutlery packets were included. He even fried a fish we bought, no extra charge! He did so perfectly, at that. That is legendary customer service, and I hope he gets some kind of commission. Need to know: When ordering for catering, do so 2 – 3 weeks in advance. 20% deposit is needed. You can rent food racks, sternos, table cloths, etc. The racks are essentially free, just put down a $ 10 deposit per piece and you get the deposit back when you return it. Thank you Steve, for being awesome and making the food at our party the biggest hit yet.

This store carries a wide variety of produce that is well-priced. I have found that it is best to use it the day of purchase, otherwise it begins to turn quickly. The meats are an excellent quality, I think this Top Tomato has the best meat out of all their other stores. Their breads are also very good. Go early on the weekends as the parking lot can get crazy busy.

My wife and I have gone to several differnt Top Tomato’s on the island, but this store ranks number 1 in many different areas. The store is the cleanest, the staff is friendly, the deli is always stocked. Going to this store is pleasant, and I couldnt say that for many places on this island.

This is the best Top Tomato on the Island in my opinion. It’s big & more orgainized than the other Top Tomato’s. The workers are nicer here & they work quick in the deli. They have good food. They are just in a very crowded area so their parking lot is always crazy. You just need to be patient.

I need to give Top Tomato on Page a bad rating. The day I went into here there was most likely a fly infestation in the WHOLESTORE! Flies kept landing on all of the items. Seriously? You don’t want to buy items with flies on them. The cleanliness is just lacking in this store. Go to a clean market, like Met.

i LOVE this place! Unfortunately I live much farther than I would like(think: many states away) and when I come back to visit Staten Island my parents live on the North Shore. No question, I make it to this Top Tomato everytime, despite there being a closer one to my house. The specialty foccacia with topping(chicken cutlet grilled or fried, eggplant, fresh mozzarella, and/or roasted red peppers) is pretty much my favorite thing ever. I make sure to go there and stock up on all different types so that I can freeze them and just reheat when I’m ready to eat and get sad about missing all the good food on staten island. They have great breads too(spinach, artichoke, or broccoli). I’m also a big fan of the rice balls, salads, and croquettes. basically, one of my favorite pick up and go places. ever.

I love this place. I really do. I discovered it just recently, when I was too lazy to head out to the supermarket. For once, my laziness paid off because I was pleasantly surprised. Top Tomato on Page Avenue is spacious and clean — they carry the freshest fruits and vegetables I have ever seen. They offer a wide variety as well… their presentation makes everything look really desirable. Their meats are excellent quality — not only do they look good in the store, but when they are cooked, they cook well. They have a small grocery area which is limited; however, I could easily pick up what I need there without resorting to a large supermarket. If you are inclined to spend more, they have a really nice offering of prepared foods. I would not say they are expensive, but they obviously cost more than if you were to buy all the ingredients and prepare it yourself. The best part? The prices are great! I was pleasantly surprised because I expected convenience store prices and instead discovered how competitive Top Tomato really is – I always walk out spending less than I would have spent if I had gone to a supermarket and ended up with more. Top Tomato has gained a new customer.
