My husband threw me a surprise birthday party in their lounge. I was very pleased. I found the food and service to be very good. The food served family style was well prepared and beautifully presented. We had 30 –40 people and all complimented the food. The staff continued to bring a variety of dishes out throughout the evening. We ended with deserts, coffee and tea. The staff was excellent, very attentive and prompt From 8: pm on we had live music at no additional cost. My guests took full advantage and danced the night away to a variety of tunes.

Horrible experience with the owner during lunch. If I could give this place below 0 I would but to put something they barely get 1. The owner is a complete moron !!! Stay away from this place. It will be closed within a year because of the lack of customer service skills by the owner. Any establishment should tailor to their customers, but unfortunately this place caters to itself and the owner.

This place has so much potential but yet again management or the lack there of can’t ruin a place. We got the groupon that clearly states $ 100 of food and 4 glasses of wine for $ 60.(Mind you the description in the original groupon pre purchase was slightly different. Awesome yes??? So we thought. I made the reservation, got my girls together to dine. We were the ONLY4 ppl there on Sunday afternoon. We informed the server of the groupon, she screen shot it with her phone and we were on to ordering. We ordered bunch items to share, all were tasty. We even joked about how we were going to rave on Unilocal about the place. When the check came, the wine(4 glasses), total of $ 36 was not taken off. To anyone whom speaks proper English, it is clear what the offer meant. The wholesale of the wine to the restaurant could have not been more than $ 10. The server went back and forth with Management via phone a couple times and even was embarrassed. One of the ladies asked to speak to him via phone(unprofessional) and he still wanted us to pay for the wine. Bad business Sir. The money is not the issue, it is the ethics. We can afford bottles if we wanted but he chose to fight about it and therefore has lost all of our business… Which is a lot considering 2 of us are Islanders and we all like to dine out with our family and friends. I even came here once before and enjoyed it. Moral of the story: It is not the customers fault you don’t word or understand descriptions, you need to do right by the customer and know that it will make you more Money in the future.

No… Food was ok but overpriced, Russians using a Mediterranean cuisine and name and no one speaks English? I don’t think so, kinda of racial to me not to hire a wait staff that actually speaks English… I give it 2 stars for the décor where did the funding come from? Hmmmm Btw: I’m 100% Greek…

It was possibly the worst service I have ever had. Waiters were oblivious to everything, absolutely no hospitality from the very minute my family and I stepped in the place. Saturday night and it was EMPTY… we should have ran out the door! Our cesar salad appetizer had a 5 inch black hair in it, followed by the over cooked filet mignon and brined veal chop. In addition to the terrible food, atmosphere and service, we were there for 2 hours!!! I’ll never go back!

Stay far far FAR away from Troy Restaurant!!! Here are the reasons: 1. The waiter was very nice and accommodating but, he gave us three different menus and kept apologizing that he gave us the wrong one. The restaurant is only 4 weeks old or so and they have 3 different menus already??? 2. When we asked if there were specials they said no, we are too new to have specials 3. The restaurant is called Troy(you would think Greek or Mediterranean) but it is Russian based 4. We were a table of 9…4 people got their food together, then the other 410 minutes later and the last person got her food after the rest of us were already done 5. I ordered an appetizer called Spanish Empanadilla: explanation was a turnover filled with goat cheese… I got a lump of goat cheese on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. I said this isn’t an empanadilla… the waiter said what did you expect? I said, an empanadilla is a pastry or turnover like it says in the menu filled with whatever you want to put in it… chicken, beef, goat cheese, whatever. 6. The coffee came out without milk or sugar or spoons and they said the milk was coming for several minutes… and then when it did come out it was in a gravy boat! 7. They took 4 dishes off the bill because it wasn’t what the ladies ordered at all, which was nice. 8. A cup of cappuccino was $ 7. The prices for entrees started at $ 26 and went up from there. 9. Don’t order the pasta with scallops because it came in a server pasta bowl with a pound of pasta in it unless you are going to share it, but, it had no taste. 10. They had a TV screen with photos randomly appearing on it… photos of the movie Troy with Brad Pitt and then when the photos finished, copies of the PDF’s of the owner’s taxes and Order of Protection floating on the screen!!!

Troy’s menu features a mix of Mediterranean and Russian dishes; you’ll find appetizers ranging from hummus to fried potatoes with mushrooms and onions. My favorite appetizer was the seared tuna steak with salad. The tuna was cooked perfectly; it had a nice sear while still maintaining a degree of rawness which allowed me to appreciate the tuna. I had the chance to sample a few entrees. I enjoyed the seafood pot in a white wine sauce the most. This dish also included crawfish and scallops in addition to the usual mussels, clams, and shrimp. The sauce demonstrated a nice balance between creaminess and lightness. The presentation of this dish was quite interesting; it was served in a huge iron-like bowl which captured the historical sentiment of Ancient Greece the restaurant seeks to embody. All in all, Troy has a great atmosphere. It’s very pleasant for an evening of dancing and feasting. The service is attentive and does a good job of bringing out dishes when your party is seated(as opposed to just dropping off your food while you’re dancing). My biggest takeaway is in regards to the portions and plating: everything is huge!

Total wait of time another Russian place with the same pretentious but very mediocre food. Very overpriced, either under or over seasoned. Tacky décor loud Russian music on weekends

We liked Troy. The empire of taste. We got the German short ribs and the baby back. The sauce was homemade. Very nice
