V & J Soriano

The catering from here was excellent. First off Rosalie was extremely pleasant and helpful in placing my order. The delivery service was on-​time although I live on the other side of the island. The set up was all done very professionally. The food was delicious. Ordered trays of penne vodka, meatballs, grilled shrimp with bacon over yellow rice (Delicious!), assorted grilled vegetables and the cold antipasto. The food was very fresh. Highly recommend! I am so glad to have found a good caterer.

Love this place! Everything is always fresh and delicious. The people that work here are always so friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t go to any other pork store!

Go here from time to time went tonight and got some sandwiches made when I got to the deli counter one of the workers looked at me and was eating and picking his teeth all while wearing gloves when someone finally told him to help me I had to ask to change his gloves. Then I got a chicken cutlet on a roll with lettuce and mayo he asked me 4 times as he was making it what was on it. He couldn’t remember 3 ingredients. Then I ordered another sandwich chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato and mozzarella when I got home it was chicken with lettuce, tomato and mayo no mozzarella. I had to scrape the mayo off wtf. Also got a cucumber and tomato salad and I found a hair on it. I think it’s safe to say I will never get food from them ever again

The fresh mozzarella is flavorless and hard; perhaps the worst I’ve ever had. It is inedible and should not be sold to the public. The meats in the meat aisle are often gray/​green and just look old. The deli stuff is hit or miss for me. Some of it is OK and some of not so OK. Im perplexed by the 4 star reviews. Place is really not that good.

Food is very good and fresh. My only issue is sometimes the help behind the deli counter are more interested in talking to each other than assisting the customers.

Love this place! Catered for Mom’s Day Brunch and the food was sooo good. This is a great deal! There is a coupon in the weekly marketeer for 1.00 off per person and I ordered for 25 people.
Staff is very friendly, very helpful. You get a lot of food. My favorite was the broccoli oreganata — big hit at the party!
If you’ve never been before, they have a Sunday meatball special too!

Really love this place, I have ordered here for parties many times and the chicken sandwhich hero is my family’s favorite.. I also love all the deli specials. The hot roast beef sandwhich is so good as well as the roast beef hero. Yummy fresh cold cuts and very nice friendly staff and owner. Great customer service.

I LOVE Soriannos. I’ve been going here for years and years and years and I have never had a problem with anyone or anything, everyone is so friendly. But I went there he other day and had my first terrible experience in years. I had work in the morning and didn’t eat anything so I went in to get a bagel. It was only $ 2.00 so when I went up to the register to pay I only had my credit card. The cashier said with an extremely nasty attitude shaking her head, «you don’t have two dollars?!» And I replied «no, sorry I only have my card» and she asked someone for an approval and they said it was okay. I always buy things for low amounts there with my card and I have never had a problem before. Then after she rang me up, she didn’t say «have a good day» or «bye» or anything, just complete silence. I was sooooo disappointed. Maybe she needs training on working with the public.

Overall a good deli that has all the standard things you would need. Their homemade stuff is very good.
However, the Italian hero is excellent. Best on SI.

My husband discovered this awesome deli a few months ago. I think he said they won some kind of sandwich contest. If that’s true, they definitely deserve it! We sometimes go there for lunch on Saturdays to get sandwiches, which are HUGE. We normally eat one half for lunch and another for dinner, but we once ate them in one sitting (around 1:30 on Saturday afternoon) and we weren’t hungry again until the next morning. My favorite is «the Italian»…it’s listed on the Boar’s Head sign right above the counter. Obviously these aren’t good for you, so we don’t do this often, but they’re a real treat when we allow ourselves to have them. The staff is also super friendly. I called in my order once (they encourage you to call or text it in) and the woman who took my order called me back twice to make sure she was making the right sandwich. I really appreciated that she did that rather than let me get a wrong order. Their prices are also very reasonable, particularly their catering prices for three– to six-​foot heroes. I’ll definitely be using them for my block party.

Great Italian pork store. Everything is fresh and homemade. We’ve catered from here before and we are always in here every week for something. I like their cold cut combos (#7 is my favorite — provolone, ham cappy, mortadella, & salami). We always get our grated cheese here. They have fresh bread from Royal Crown.

There has been noticeable improvements, the main reason for my upping them to a third star. Grocery items are being dusted which is a blessing. The freezers don’t look neglected and and the meats are always well stocked no matter what time of day I walk in. The meat is good quality too. Better than anything you’d get at Pathmark these days. Oh and the vodka sauce still rocks.

When Soriano’s first opened, I was a huge fan. A couple of months down the road, I was unhappy with their selection and food quality.
Recently, Soriano’s has been advertised by radio and in the Staten Island Advance. I went in a couple of times and all was good.
In August we decided to cater from Soriano’s for my daughter’s first birthday party. I’m so glad we tried them out. The food was fresh and very good. There was also plenty of it. They provided paper goods and cocktail rice balls and rolls with the order. We also used a 15% off coupon from the Marketeer which was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend Soriano’s for catering! We will be using them again for sure.
