Wadsworth Car Service

I was bartending a wedding at Ft Wadsworth on a Saturday night. I called… The security guard called. We BOTH called SEVERAL TIMES and the dispatcher first said the car was down the block… Then said at the gate… Needless to say, I was grateful that the security guard at Ft Wadsworth was kind enough to offer me a ride to the Ferry so I could at least get back to the city and catch a cab from there!

Nasty people. I’m stunned at the way they talked to me. I feel violated, you don’t treat customers like that. And on top of that, they can’t even accommodate a family of 4 people with a couple of suitcases. Told me to call in the morning, and now I’m scrambled to get where I need to go.

I ordered a rid to go to the ferry from southbeach/​arrochar and it was on time. However he said he needed to stop at the base to pick someone up. I figured it was on bay st which is on the way to the ferry anyway. He picked up someone who worked for the company. My guess she was a dispatcher. She was carrying something. She was going to birthday party and couldn’t be late. But here was the deal. I needed to catch a ferry for WORK PURPOSES! So I said I need to make it by 3pm can you make sure I get there and he said no problem.
Not only did he take his sweet time but the dispatcher girl who was very adamant about her destination was much more important than mine said things like its okay because this is a birthday. And I said well just please make it fast cause I cant be late and I need to catch the ferry because of work!!!
Now I am paying $ 15 plus to make it to a ferry. I was paying they should have let me off FIRST knowing I had to catch a boat. She was not late for her birthday party if anything she can walk in anytime.
Guess what I missed by boat. And i didn’t make it to work on my first day until 5pm. So you know how that turned out. It made me look very bad. There will not be a next time. Do not trust this car service they do what they want and don’t care. I never got my money back or an apology either.

Just waited an hour for car service whwn they said it would be 15 minutes. Use your legs instead, they are faster.

Horrible.
I know every car service has delays but for a $ 20 cab ride I waited 35mins.
Last night I called at 12:59pm for a cab. They said yeah no problem, 5−10mins. I called again at 1:16am, they said 2mins. By this time I’m standing outside in the rain, a female, alone. Called again around 1:30am only to get into an argument with the dispatcher who told me I called at 1am for a price check (false) and threatened to have him TURN AROUND and leave me stranded!!! He then proceeds to scream bloody murder and f-​bomb the hell outta the cabbie who (sounded drunk) I hear confessing ‘oh I don’t know WHERE IT IS exactly.’ Awesome! So, when he called the cab the first time and he was STILL LOST, they felt it completely ok to tell me they were down the block. The guy finally shows up at 1:35am and blames his dispatcher.
I could have taken an MTA bus but in fear of something happening to me I took a $ 20, hour long ordeal of a cab ride. Next time I’ll take my chances on the mean streets of Staten Island.
Don’t call these guys unless you have a lot of time, money and patience to deal with SICK attitude for a service you’re (over)paying for.

I’ve been using Wadsworth for many years now. I would say for the most part the drivers know me, and remember who I am. The dispatcher also for the most part knows me.
I have used them for everything from local errands to airport transport. They’re almost always attentive, respectful, and somewhat on time. (Please also allow for Cab time translations on time alloted for pick-​up.)
The only time I’ve ever truly had a problem with them was when I was picked up by a teenager, who stayed on his phone the entire time (illegal well driving in ny, unless you use a hands free. Which he was not.), and took me to another location other than the one I requested.
One of their best drivers is a very friendly driver named Adam. If I’m going on a long trip (airport run), I will always try to request him.
