Probably one of the worst breakfasts I’ve had. Sausage was clearly frozen patties that they microwaved. Eggs had no flavor, not even salt & pepper could help them. Toast was ok, but not great. Didn’t even finish what I ordered. Plenty of better places near by!

Staff arguing, Brown an serve sausage, yeah tha t s right the frozen kind, best bacon, it’s thick sliced, comparable to Fletchers. that give this place a five star I don’t think so, mom’s told me it was a great place to eat, she obviously needs to get out of stayton.

Stopped for lunch on a recent road trip. Delicious burger. Tillamook cheese and incredible bacon. Nice grilled flavor. The house made chips are crunchy and not greasy. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He even told us how to get to the nearby covered bridge and lovely city park.

Loved my breakfast visit. The omelette was cooked so well, not dry or burnt & looks like it was cooked on a clean griddle.

Good food and expected prices. Service is a bit lacking in quality but it’s what you expect from a café. Will go back though

Been going here since I was a kid, but the service and quality I feel has decreased. I used to love there biscuits and gravy but that is mediocre at best now. Mac and cheese is just Kraft made, nothing special for kids.

So after my last horrific experience here where the owner was absolutely rude, my sister wanted to come eat here and use a groupon. I told her I wasn’t going to give them a dime of my money so a groupon was right up my alley and a great way to give this place just one more try. We walked in and a friendly waiter told us «sit where ever you’d like.» We looked around for an open table and six of the seven were dirty. The clean one was for a large group. There was an additional room of tables so we picked the smallest one in there and sat down. Five minutes later the waiter came to tell is we couldn’t sit there.(Didn’t you tell us to sit where ever we wanted to?) He moved us to a new table and offered us drinks. My sister ordered coffee with cream and he failed to set the table with any silverware. We ended us having to ask for the utensils so she could stir her coffee. My sister and I ordered the same thing, an omelette with bacon, cheese and avocado, and when they arrived the size difference between hers and mine was more than noticeable. They looked like a kids version vs and adult version. The flavor of the omelette and hash browns were extremely bland. The biscuit was really good and the jam they served with it was pretty good, too. We also ordered the cinnamon rolls which were okay, but not something I’d ever order if I ever walked in to that restaurant again — but something tells me that was the last time. Thanks covered bridge for once again reminding me why in the last two years I have told numerous people about my experience and turned people down on invitations to come into your establishment. You certainly didn’t fail at not impressing me, so good on ya, mate!

My friends have all been talking about this restaurant so I bought a Groupon and headed out there for breakfast. Let me just list the issues: * We waited about 35 minutes for out food. * The waitress was not responsive, asked for condiments and never received them * Pancakes were paper thin and ended up ordering more which took 30 minutes to get because«the burnt the first ones». They must not have cleaned the grill because the second ones tasted burnt also *Hashbrowns were cold in the middle and burnt on the outside. * friend ordered a menu item, they didn’t have it. She then ordered a special, they didn’t have it. She settled on a veggie omelet that when she received it the vegetables were not cooked and it looked like a salad between two layers of eggs. *Wifi Hotspot that they advertise was not working so I could not use Groupon anyway. It was a horrible experience and I will be calling Groupon for a refund! On a positive note: the busgirls were great! Always refilling drinks and bringing things as needed.

Well this place gets 2 stars because the food is actually pretty darn good. i’ve mentioned before that i’m a chicken fried steak freak, and they make it really well. But, the service SUUUUUUCKS!!! I sure hope the waitress doesn’t need her tips to survive. because she doesn’t earn them. it was a hassle to get someone to refill my coffee, our waters were never refilled. after we got our food the waitress never came back to the table except to drop off the bill. then it took forever to have anyone take my money. will i go back? i don’t know. i like the food but is it worth the terrible service? probably not.

The one star, for the food. The service, Terrible, terrible, terrible. Did I say terrible. One you lady came to our table and asked for our drink order. My wife ordered coffee, I ordered coffee and water. What we got, nothing. Another waitress came and I was’t paying attention, so my wife ordered us each a coffee, which we did receive. A short time after, another waitress came by and I asked her for a water, she said, «sure thing.» Then got a napkin for another patron and continued cleaning tables. While waiting for our food, another waitress came by and topped off the coffee. When our waitress brought our food, I asked again for water, and once again it never came. After getting our food, no one visited our table until five minutes after we finished eating, and asked us if we wanted coffee.

We waited over 1HR for our food. Coffee came once. Never again. Waitress only worked on the other side of the room. Had to yell to get any service. Cant give a good rating. And when we finally did get our food. Cold! Yuk. Never again! We don’t recommend.

This is another small town restaurant with great food & service. I had an omelette that was super tasty. They use Tillamook cheese, which is the best. They serve good coffee & they don’t let your cup get empty. I strongly recommend this place.

The portions are big and usually decent tasting. The potatoes are hit or miss. Service is a little slow and lacks attention to detail. Be prepared to ask several times for OJ or a glass of water. This moring they were blasting Christian rock on the radio. I won’t digress into a music review, but I also will not be returning anytime soon.

This small-town café(and pretty much the rest of Stayton) reminds me of my midwestern hometown, in all the best ways. The Covered Bridge serves solid, simple american breakfasts. Good ingredients and well-prepared, but nothing fancy, no hedonistic twists on old classics, no Stumptown coffee. Just locals and the occasional tourist eating well.

If you ever want to get off the beaten track and find yourself in Stayton be sure to stop by for some wonderful small town charm. Walls are covered with Covered Bridge art. Menu full of American breakfast and lunch classics. Bacon in my BLT was delic’.

Another tasty breakfast at the Covered Bridge Café. Small town charm, good food and nice people, what more could you want. I always enjoy eating here. Not fancy but hometown feel. Would have got a 5 star but the coffee didn’t keep coming… they were busy though. :-]

Down home cooking and large(VERYLARGE) portions! If you have a small appetite, the Covered Bridge Café in Stayton is not for you, however, if you don’t mind taking a bit home with you, you will not be disappointed. My partner and I eat here at least twice a month, usually on Sunday mornings for breakfast.(If you go for breakfast on Sunday, be sure to get there before 10 a.m. otherwise you will have a wait due to the many church services in the area letting out.) As has been previously stated by another reviewer, just come in and grab a table, there is no one to seat you. Once seated the wait staff will bring you menus, water and your setup. The menu is extensive and all items are available all day, but they excel in their omelets. My partner seems to always gravitate to their Bell Ringer and can never finish it. Each omelet comes with toast of your choice, hashbrowns, a meat. What more can you ask for from a country breakfast. On our last visit, I tried their Corned Beef Hash, and was pleasantly pleased to find that it was all home made and not from a Sysco can! The meal was perfectly cooked, and served piping hot! Price point for this restaurant is amazingly low for the amount and quality of the food, and you will not find a better bargain anywhere! If you are in Stayton and need a great breakfast or lunch, try the Covered Bridge Café!

Covered Bridge Café is a favorite among the locals in Stayton. Tourists wait at the door waiting to be seated whereas the locals just come in and grab themselves a table. If you arrive at Covered Bridge café just come in and sit yourself down. The staff doesn’t seem to mind. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is informal and comfortable. The food is traditional American Café and is very wholesome. Covered Bridge Café excels at breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Dressed up baked potatoes are also offered. On my last visit to Covered Bridge Café it was only open for breakfast and lunch. An excellent experience is to eat at Covered Bridge Café and then go on down the street to see the Stayton-Jordan Covered Bridge. Oregon at it’s very best!
