Espresso by The Bay

I had a Carmel latte and it was great. My husband had the vanilla Italian soda and I can say it was one of the best ones that I had around. Its also a cute little place close to the water.

Just got done with a workout and thought I’d hit up this little coffee shop I was always passing by. This, people this, is an amazing cup of coffee. I get a black Americano, so their is no sugar or cream to get in the way of the nutty, hint of sweet, rich flavor in this perfectly pulled espresso. Can’t wait to just throw back a shot of this stuff when I get the hankering. Highly recommend, if the Americano is this good, I’m sure the mixed/​specialty drinks are ridiculous. Oh and the people were super nice and fun too.

Without a doubt, this is the best coffee south of the pretentious coffee houses on Tacoma’s 6^th Avenue. Friendly, helpful barista and very cozy setting. Coffee from Olympia Coffee Roasting Co., ice cream from Olympic Mountain, sauces from Trop’s Chocolates in Gig Harbor and other local treats, as well. As of September 2015, open every weekday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and open at 8 a.m. on weekends.

Love the ice cream. So glad they are here. Makes waiting for the ferry that much better.

New management! Coffee is excellent and a great selection of alternative milks. Haven’t tried food yet but they do have pastries & sandwiches. They’ve done a lot of work on the outside seating area and it’s very nice & they even have a bowl of water for dogs :) not the fastest coffee but it’s always good!

The baristas are very friendly, they know what they’re doing & they do it with a passion. The pastries are fresh & delicious. They don’t do blended drinks which is a big let down. I wonder how much business they lose over it.

I enjoyed my first visit to this coffee shop. It’s manager, friendly, coffee was great. They have a solid WiFi signal. Priced moderately, the atmosphere very pleasant, and a good location just a minute from the ferry terminal.

Love the feeling I get in Steilacoom and then you get. A warm welcome and a delicious breakfast sandwich with your coffee… love it here!

This is a cute little coffee shop with a beautiful view of the Puget Sound. This area in Steilacoom is very quaint and cute. The coffee shop building used to be a gas station, which makes it look really cool. There is a drive thru window as well as a tiny seating area inside. There is also a gorgeous garden area outside the shop for sitting down and enjoying your drinks (the hot chocolate was a bit on the bland side though).
My friend asked to use their restroom and was given a key and directed to a bathroom outside and around the corner. Apparently, something was wrong with the lock or key. She asked the owners if there was a special trick to opening the bathroom and they responded with ‚“It’s just a lock.” So she tries again and still no luck. Returns the key to the owner and just decides to forget about it when a girl sitting down in the coffee shop pops up out of nowhere and very loudly says to us, «Oh my God, let me show you.» Snatches the key off the counter, storms out the door, and glares at my friend to follow her. My friend said she wasn’t interested anymore but followed her anyway. And guess what happened? THE DOOR WAS STUCK. Lol-​ing so hard. I don’t know who that girl was — an employee, the owners’ daughter (?) But she made a fool of herself. She should have approached the situation differently.
If it weren’t for the rude behavior and the fact that the owners’ could not be bothered to listen to my friend, this would have been a nice little place. Unfortunately, they did not leave a positive impression.

nice enough, but they are very expensive.

Had a few not so great coffees here… keep in mind they are new owners and sometimes it takes awhile to find your footing!
