Arthur Murray Dance Studio

My girlfriend had told me before how she had wanted to learn how to ballroom dance, so I had bought a 2 week package off of groupon for her and I. While waiting for our instructor (Victoria) to teach our 45 min private lesson we saw another couple start their lesson. Our instructor was a little abrasive and seemed like she just wanted it to be over. Our lesson lasted 25 minutes, the other couple went the full 45. The second lesson lasted longer but still not the full time. Group lessons were where I felt I learned the most, the only problem is you switch partners after every attempt. I understand why, but some nights there are large groups and you only get to dance with the person you came with twice which kinda sucks. At a glance, lessons seem a bit pricey, but are in line with other hobby lessons. Shout out to J. Lo (Jamie), she was the best instructor we had!

My husband and I have been interested in taking dance lessons for quite a while now, so when I saw a great deal offered on Groupon, I couldn’t resist. The Groupon entitled us to two private lessons, unlimited group lessons (during the week (s) of your private lessons) and two dance parties. We met with our dance instructor, Andrea, for our two private lessons and we both had a ball!!! She is amazing. Funny and sassy… she made it so much fun for us! Sadly, we haven’t been able to make the group lessons or dance parties because we live quite a distance away and my husband’s work hours are insane.
We would very much like to continue our lessons, but the cost of the private lessons is a little more than we can afford at the moment. I imagine the group lessons may be a bit more affordable so we’re going to look into that! Ask for Andrea (pronounced Andre-​a), she’s a delight!!!

This adventure started with me planning to take my girlfriend for dance lessons for Valentine’s Day. We went into and met with the owner, filled out a form about our background and then any questions. We got placed with Jeff, he was patient and fun especially since we had no clue what we’re were doings. The entire staff was great, they asked if this was something we wanted to continue and we said we would think about it for the future! But we love this place I would recommend it, dance is fun and so is this place.

I cannot say enough good about Arthur Murray Sterling Heights. The trainers will work at the requisite speed to get you started, everyone learns at different speeds. Both I individual lessons and group lessons are fabulous. After being there awhile, both the staff and the regulars make you feel like family, you feel that you belong. We plan to keep up the lessons!

I had decided to let this bad business go about its own bad business but they flt compelled to argue my assessment. Note it took more than 6 months for this sack of horror studio to get enough reviews into their «positive» filter.
Art Murray treated my wife and I horribly in our interview. They tried to coerce us into taking lessons for more than we wanted. They guilt tripped us when their overbearing dance expert couldn’t come to grips with the fact that she had pathetic sales ability.
Go ahead & ask these (sarcasm) pro’s to teach you things. Just don’t expect them to care if you actually know what you want. They will tell you what you want & will pay for.
FYI — YouTube instructional videos ar way more pleasant than this company’s staff.
