Just moved in down the street and swung in for a bite. Absolutely glad we did. We will come here often. Excellent quality of food and taste. Fresh, not frozen onion rings and pita bread. Coleslaw was delish. A must try.

I go there for the Fish and chips. The Fish was crunchy and tasty. The tartar sauce, I ask for extra. It’s small but sometimes good things come in small packages.

This place is my favorite place to get food in Sterling Hts. I can’t go there without getting the beef barley soup. It is out of this world! Of course the sandwiches are delicious too(purple velvet is yummy). Actually, everything I’ve tried from here has been on point. The drive thru makes it so easy! All the workers there are friendly and the prices are great. Do yourself a favor and try it! Enjoy :) Soups, sandwiches, grilled chicken and coleslaw are a few of my favs.

I’ve been frequenting this establishment since it opened a few years ago. I have to say that’s it’s one of my favorite lunch locations in the area. The thing that drew me in to this restaurant was that it was a really old Taco Bell location that I also used to come to. I was interested to see how they adapted the fast food layout to an incredible sandwich shop. So, the foods. The selection is incredible. Don’t feel like you have to try everything, because I certainly haven’t made a dent in the monstrous menu. My personal favorite is the chicken strip pita(#26). The quantity of chicken is enough to make Fat Albert say«hey, hey, hey!». The pita overflows with delicious grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The pita sandwich is delicious. I recommend a little ranch on top, but it can get pretty messy. Another favorite of mine is the Tin Roof sandwich, which consists of stacked ham and turkey with slaw on rye bread. It’s a great combination of flavors… plus you get a metric f#@k-ton(I’m pretty sure that’s a scientific measurement) of meats stacked nice and high. Since the sandies are pretty massive, I wouldn’t recommend getting the fries unless you’re superman-saves-the-world hungry. The fries are great, though. If you’re having lunch with company, get ‘em and share ‘em. What the House of Reuben brings to the table isn’t necessarily unique. They serve up pretty standard sandwiches and other tasty treats. I really love this place because it’s small. You will get great service every time you come here. The food flies out of the kitchen like the Flash on speed. The food is always consistent. It is delicious. The servings are big. You will never leave here unsatisfied. If you enjoy a good Reuben or anything else that you might chew in sandwich form, come here. Enjoy the old memories of Taco Bell when they used to make the food behind a wall so the customers couldn’t see what truly goes on in a fast food kitchen. When House of Reuben remodeled, they opened up the wall to the kitchen… don’t worry. ~ strik9

BIG sandwich. At the end of the meal, I was wishing I would have shared instead of eating the whole thing. But I did. No regrets. Had the house reuben with thousand island instead of their specialty mustard. The thousand island was meh, but the sandwich was very good. Fries and slaw were tasty. Service prompt. Bill was $ 10. I will definitely return.

Wonderful Rubens!!! Don’t hesitate to buy one! The only downside is that they don’t always travel well with takeout. It can be sloppy.

Food is always so good here especially the Reuben’s … The help is great. You won’t be disappointed with all the soups there either. Can’t wait to go back

I was excited to try this place after a friend of mine recommended it to me. I rarely eat deli meats and I was craving a good corned beef. This was not the place for me. Bad on so many levels. It was way too dry and the corned beef seemed to be low quality or old or something. There are a lot better options in the area with a better quality product.

Not the best Reuben I’ve had, but it was good, filling. Wait staff was quick. The kraut needs more flavor. The jar of pickles on the table was a nice feature.

Good place to come if you like rubens. Get the house ruben or purple velvet with fries and you will not be disappointed. Mix pastrami and corn beef to change is up as well.

Absolutely love this place! A very quaint restaurant with a wonderful staff! The sandwiches are mouth watering. My favorite sandwich off the menu is the #1 lamplighter, corned beef with Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Russian dressing. Amazing! Soups are always homemade and fresh and the bonus, a bucket of fresh dill pickles on each table. I have had most of everything on the menu and I can honestly say you cannot go wrong with this place.

I love the rubens here – the sandwiches are huge, and I love the jar of pickles on the tables, it’s a nice break from rolls or bread as the appetizer.

My uncle recommended this place to me and I was severely disappointed. I was told the onion rings were thin and the fries were good. Both appeared to come out of bags from the freezer, clearly not made fresh. The onion rings were thick and big pieces of onion came out. It was disgusting. I could’ve made the fries at home better with the same bag of frozen fries, no seasoning, not even salt. I’ve never had pastrami ever and my uncle knows I hate fatty meat, maybe he was playing a joke on me because it was half fat. I couldn’t believe how fatty it was, so much that I had to order something else. I ended up getting corned beef, it was okay but nothing to write home about. The only shining star of this place was our waitress but she wasn’t enough to entice me back ever.

Great place for corned beef or Reuben sandwiches, cozy, very clean and friendly. It’s a very well converted old Taco Bell that doesn’t feel like a Taco Bell anymore they’ve redone the place very well

A small diner that has some of the best deli sandwiches I have found. Their pastrami reuben — yummy. Not a place to go for a low cal, low carb diet lol. Fries are fresh. Great dills on the table await you. Definitely would recommend! Small parking lot so be prepared.

Not the best service around but the food there sit half bad. I’ve had some bad times with a Rubens there but I’ve had really good times there. That’s why I have to give them 3 stars. They need to update the place, still looks like an old Taco Bell that is run down.

Total fan of this gem. I just feel happy after leaving here. There’s two things I love, onion rolls and pastrami. I’ve been seeking a great combo of those two, and found it here. Years past before it changed owners then closed, my fav deli made a killer grilled pastrami /grilled onion roll sammich. I’ve been around town. Some places warm the meat and wont grill the bread. Some add the cheese off grill, and it never melts. House of Reuben doesn’t do that lame stuff. Couple times now I’ve enjoyed the Purple Velvet #6($ 6.00 orig/$ 7.40 king size). It’s on menu as Hot Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Coleslaw &1000 Island Dressing on Grilled Rye. I swap out the Rye for Onion Roll at $ 0.25(OMG cheap upgrade!), and asked for it to be grilled. I had onion rings as well the first time, but they were marginal at best. The crust on their Pastrami, amazing. The Pastrami is just all over the place, I have to try to tame it. Give this place a shot, and you’re taste buds will get a pick me up. Pickles at the table, pro move!

I had a hankering for a Hot Grilled Pastrami for over 2 weeks, and I pass H.O.R. 4 times a day, well Tuesday was that day, that my schedule allowed my long overdue visit. I called ahead from Big Beaver & Utica Road & when I arrived at 12:18 it was ready Grilled Pastrami on an onion roll w/cheddar $ 6.50 Got 2 meals out of it.
