My new favorite place! Absolutely delicious food. Delivery time was a little over an hour, which I didn’t mind. I was delighted when the food arrived fresh & hot, which is rare when ordering delivery. I chose the chicken tika masala. It definitely exceeded my expectations. The sauce was very flavorful, hints of sweetness & spices in each bite. It came with a side of white long grain rice. I also ordered garlic naan. Unfortunately it was a bit soggy, but it was good, especially when dipped in the tika masala sauce. Last but not least, I ordered veggie samosa. OMG! So good. Had a nice crunch on the outside, and the filling was bursting with flavor. Overall I very much enjoyed my experience & I will definitely be ordering from here again.

I’m here for the Kerala Parathas! Had them with the chicken chettinad and they were yum!!! Not a fan of their chicken 65 though.

Frozen naan? Really? That’s what they served us with Indian entrée. they don’t have tandoori or clay oven. We ordered malai kofta and it was good but have doubts Abt it being frozen as well. Service is good bec they were honest Abt what they served. Just for service I am rating 2 else I would not even rate it..

Ordered chicken hakka noodles, goat biriyani and hydrebadi chicken curry. Curry just seemed to be gravy that was just overdone with masalas and the hakka noodle didnt seem like how hakka noodles should be. It was just drenched in sambal olek. Goat biriyani was pretty good. The interior isnt bad I feel like the place has potential. Its just that most indian spots arent consistent with their recipes.

I was craving Indian food and randomly chose Red Chillies since it was the nearest Indian restaurant. I’m so happy with my decision. The service was outstanding, restaurant very clean, and the food divine. The prices are really great. We ordered multiple dishes and plenty of naan, along with carryout, and it was all under $ 50! I will definitely be coming back again.

I came in here expecting your typical Indian food lunch buffet. When I walked in, I thought I would be disappointed as there was no buffet. Was I wrong! I ordered the chicken curry and it was the best I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding, unbelievable. This is the first Unilocal review I’ve made, and I’ve used Unilocal for years. I am taking the time to write this because it’s THAT good. I ordered naan to go along with it. The portion of rice, dish and naan were generous and filling. The service was great, I felt truly waited on. The gentleman was extremely polite. Very clean restaurant, including very clean bathroom. When I got the bill I was surprised that it was only $ 10. What a deal, I’ll be stopping here anytime I drive down this street! Definitely a must if you like Indian food.

We love Indian food, but have found the choices in central/northern Macomb county limited at best. We tried Red Chilies yesterday. It’s about one mile South of Utica on Van Dyke. The food and service were excellent. We both had a sampler plate with six or seven items. The waiter was very patient with the many questions we had about the extensive, unfamiliar ciusine. We certainly plan a return visit to try the Fish Kerela which was recommended by the waiter. Great find !!!

We are avid consumers of Indian food and visited Red Chillies for the 1st time tonight. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. It came piping hot and quite flavorful. We ordered Chicken 65, which we love, and it was by far the best we’ve had yet. We then had Chicken Mappas and Lamb Kadai, both has exceptional taste. The staff was very attentive and nice. This will probably be our new favorite Indian restaurant. It fulfills our hunt for a new favorite as our prior place is under new management. We definitily recommend this place to go and enjoy.

I have only eaten at 3 different Indian restaurants in my life so my comparison level is small. Saying that… I had dinner here and it was GREAT. I loved it. The Chicken Saag was perfectly spiced and tender. Served with rice and that made it even better. My friend had the Paneer tikka Masala and the cheese cubes melted like butter. We started with fabulous Veg Samosa’s …Not greasy, plenty of filling and perfectly seasoned and browned. * The service and staff were very pleasant but overall it was disjointed. And as pointed out in other reviews, the language barrier is challenging. So be prepared for a DELICIOUS meal that you need to be patient with. And don’t forget to ask for ice with your water.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed ordering large portions for family and friends who come over to our house. We’ve ordered noodles, biriyani, and chicken curry and have enjoyed the unique taste with an Indo-Chinese twist, the right amount of spices without it being too hot. Probably my favorite Indian restaurant and at a good location by M-59 and Van Dyke.

Tried Red Chilies after having it bookmarked for a while. I was trying to figure out what to eat on a rare free night, and decided that Indian sounded good. The location itself is pretty small and kind of an odd set of décor, like the ‘80s were coming back. But you’re not here for the décor, you’re here for the food. Be warned in advance that there is a language barrier. The young guy that took my order required a lot of pointing and repeating, and he seemed to be the best at English. They do need to work on this and on setting up the tables. I got a pitcher of water with no ice, and when I asked for ice it was a real production number. They have the Bollywood tunes turned up a bit loud, so that probably didn’t help. That and the other table of 40-somethings that talked about beer pong for the whole hour I was there(I wish I’m kidding, but I’m not). At one point the female of the group said«It’s like quidditch with beer.» I’m serious, someone really uttered this thought — it may be the single stupidest thing ever said. I started off with some hot and sour soup, which was sort of like the Thai version, but with some twists. I’m not sure of all of the kinds of meat in it, there were some chunks of things that I couldn’t quite identify. You know what? It didn’t matter… this stuff was awesome. Oh, yeah, and hot as hell without being just about heat — the flavor was amazing, pretty much the best soup of its kind I’ve ever had. So good, in fact, that I ordered some to go. It was that good. For my meal I got the chicken Biryani. The portion size was very large, and the flavors were very good. I also got some na’an, which was good but a bit soggy. I ended up taking the Biryani home and it was just as good the next time. Lots of layers of flavor and a good amount of protein. I did wish it had a bit more sauce, but that is a minor issue. The server said that on the weekends they have an amazing fish curry prepared by the chef(who has 25 years of experience, you will hear this fact several times during your meal, I did). I look forward to trying that and some other goodies here. You’re not here for anything other than the food, and you will not be disappointed.

Not a fan but will try again. Got a couple apps– both tasted exactly the same. Very very salty. Super small portions of naan. One order is like ½ piece of naan. Prices were cheap. Would’ve liked to see a chicken tikka on menu(not masala) as sometimes I don’t want all the sauces. I’m comparing to Rangoli and Rangoli is much better.

Like the spicyness of the curry. The egg curry, puttu were good. I wish they gave kadala curry along with the puttu.

Awesome and just Awesome!!! There are no words for the Sadya that we had here !! specially to see the delight on the faces of the Non Keralite friends after sampling this delicacy just made my day!!! We had to wait for a bit to be served, but the wait was worth it. The food was simply yummy and my friends and myself we really had a yummy time having it! Keep up the good work and we will be definitely coming in the again!

The food was good, but the experience was disjointed. They were caught off guard when we walked in. There was no music playing and they had to play with the lights. At one point we were sitting in the dark. This type of stuff happens when you open a new restaurant or do anything for the first time. Hopefully after a few awkward experiences they will get things straightened out. The Aloo Palak and the Navratan Korma were good dishes and we happy with them.

Really, really nice food… it confirms my suspicion that the best food is almost always found in strip malls. Went there with a group, and it was all good: okra masala, palak paneer, medu vada, biryani, and more.(Gobi manjoorian? A new one for me.) Subtle flavors, friendly service, and very fairly priced.

So good! Delicious food! Those in the know in our group commented that the food is more southern Indian. Service was great, food wasn’t overly spicy, flavors were amazing. Lots of vegetarian choices too. So much food– fed 7 people and had enough carry out for lunch tomorrow too. Highly recommend. Don’t be fooled by the strip mall– it’s fantastic!

So, let me start off by saying i love indian food. When i saw that Red Chillies was the new addition to this plaza at 19 and van dyke, i was psyched! This space had been a sushi, middle eastern, and seafood joint, all closed down. I hope this place lasts, because it is divine. Although small, they make use of the space very well. The décor was beautiful and the bathrooms clean –very important! Our waiter was very nice and professional. My fiancé and i ordered the chicken tikka masala, the veggie puffs, and plain/garlic naan. Everything was delicious. The vegg puffs were so flaky and soft, with the right amount of kick. Probably my favorite part of the meal haha. The naan was awesome! Not bland like some other places, this naan was full of flavor. When the masala came out, i admit myself abit disappointed. The portions was a tad on the smaller side but to my surprise it was enough for the both. They will be seeing me again.
