Playgrounds these days are so much cooler than I remember them being when I was a kid. Briar Patch Park is no exception. My two year old and I had a most excellent time playing here this morning. Sorry if we woke up any neighbors with our squeals of glee. We will definitely be back!

First off… HAHAHAHA there’s a Unilocal for a playground. Secondly… HAHAHAHA I’m actually typing something about it. I remember when this playground was all wood. Aside from the splinters in my rump and being singed by the meta slides, I LOVEDIT. There were giant truck tires to play in and tons of underground(at least that was my perception when I was 7) tunnels. It sucks now. That’s why I give it one star.

Great scene, clean bathrooms(with changing stations!) quick access to the ice cream truck, and everything from slides, to swings. This place is perfect lil bebes to 10yr olds! We’ve looked for parks in the Herndon, Sterling area, and this one takes it by far as the best free family fun spot. I definitely recommend it for new parents in the area in search of an outdoor spot to take the kids.

This is a great park and a beautiful place to go for a stroll with the kids and the family.

This park is actually five playground sets wrapped around a tennis court, with picnic tables and a basketball court off to one side. Its usually busy, often times with poorly controlled children running over the littler ones. Maybe that helps teach the little ones to stand up for themselves, or parents restraint in not yelling at other people’s children. The equipment is very well maintained though, and I’ve never felt overly concerned about safety here.

I recently attended a toddler’s birthday party at this park and was extremely impressed! It’s basically 4 playgrounds next to each other with tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, basketball courts, and a covered picnic area. There might have been more if I walked away from the center of the facility but it was about 100 degrees so I didn’t… I don’t think I have ever seen so many slides and swings in one place — the playground equipment seems safe and sturdy and has way more«play features» than any other I’ve seen. One of the playgrounds looks like a train so that is especially appealing to young children. The facility was very clean, offered adequate shade, includes plenty of parking, and is open enough that it is easy to keep an eye on your children even if they wander away from you a little. I noticed port-a-potties nearby but didn’t see if there are real bathrooms on the facility. I saw two addresses for this, 1400 and 21660 N. Sterling, but it’s at the intersection of Sterling Blvd and E Frederick Dr.
