I went to the Corner Bakery in Cascades this afternoon to order my favorite sandwich: ham on pretzel and the cold pasta salad. Although I ordered my food to go so I was not there for very long, I did take note of how cute the restaurant looked. The décor was inviting and cozy on this rainy day. I sat down and waited for my food. And waited. I waited for longer than usual so I assumed there must have been a reason as the restaurant was not full. I waited a little while longer at which time a woman(I presume it was the manager as she appeared to be the one in charge) came to me and explained that they had to make fresh the pasta salad that I had ordered and that was why it was taking so long. She apologized for my wait and offered me a drink to enjoy. A free drink AND fresh pasta salad! She was very professional and courteous. I believe that nobody can be perfect all the time, and neither can cafés. It is how the management and other employees react to situations that inevitably arise that make all the difference in the world. I thought it very generous to offer me a free drink for my wait. The apology was nice as well. Thank you for noticing that I had been sitting there a while and for rectifying the situation. Overall I had a nice experience while I was there, the employees were smiling and the food was great, as usual.

Just moved to the area and have never been to a Corner Bakery Café. Unfortunately, my recent visit will be my last. The place looked nice and everything, but the staff is completely clueless. My Dad and I ordered the same thing. It was some sort of scrambler. It was supposed to come with toast. My dad got unbuttered white toast and I got two slices of multi-grain bread that wasn’t even toasted or anything. Also, the potatoes that were supposed to come with ours were cold. My Mother never even got hers. She ordered a breakfast Panini. Finally, after my Dad and I were done eating our meals, they brought my Mom’s out. Haha the so called«Panini» was nothing but warm soggy buttered bread. It wasn’t pressed in a sandwich press at all and could not be picked up without falling apart. My Mom, quickly sent it back. The waitress was clueless as to why it would get sent back. So we sat there for a while longer waiting for them to properly grill a Panini. The whole time, the staff behind the counter was yelling at the single-handed cook lady to cook the Panini asap before anything else. The whole while the lady in the kitchen looked clueless. Really? How hard is it to cook a Panini? It’s just some scrambled eggs, a few slices of bacon, and cheese in between two pieces of grilled toast… Finally, she didn’t even want it anymore and asked for her money back. The staff then looked dumbfounded as to why she didn’t want to wait for another. Besides, this whole fiasco, I had one of their lemon bars. A lemon bar should be somewhat tart and make you pucker ever so slightly — Not this one. It wasn’t very lemony at all, too sweet, and tasted almost like a sweet egg filling, not lemon curd.

I think the food is solid and i will be back(i have been here a few times before). The only problem i have with it is that i think they over engineer their food. For example, i had a turkey sandwich thing… it was good, but it was a little complex. For example, the pretzel bread was too powerful and outdid the flavor of the sandwich…

Horrible: croissants, muffins, greasy omelettes. The muffins look bad and taste terrible. The only good thing about this location is the outdoor seating.

My husband and I went here to grab a cup of coffee. Even though Starbucks was right next door, I usually support local places. First off, we went in there at 3 p.m. and it was dead, yet it still took 10 minutes to get our coffee due to both workers up front dealing with upset customers on the phone for their catering business. When we did receive the coffees they both tasted like water. I asked another lady if she could remake mine, but it didn’t help, all I could taste was water. It was so bad I ended up going to Starbucks to order 2 more coffees. I didn’t even try the food, but after this experience I will never be back.

Fan. Tastic. I don’t get excited about coffee shops and bakeries often. I stopped by for a cup of coffee in an anti Starbucks mood and grabbed a couple of sweets. The lady working the counter was witty, friendly, and has a warm smile. After we ordered and got our coffee(which is fantastic) and were walking out she flagged us down. I had told her I’d never been there and was only interested in coffee, but she walked me back to the counter. A young man was waiting expectantly for her with a food container. I heard her tell him that they didn’t waste food, so in the future either cut it up for samples or give it to someone. She told me to try their chicken pomadori. I ate it in her car. Melted cheese, chicken, delicious bread and fresh basil leaves and juicy tomato… it was amazing. I’ll be back for lunch and I’ll be telling everyone I know about this place and that sandwich. Well played, ma’am.

Salad was mostly the white part of the lettuce, aka the part that’s not that nutritious. But the fact that it seemed wilted, like it had been sitting in a refrigerator for a couple days made it even worse. The guy misunderstood me, I thought it was communicated that yes I did want chicken, just no blue cheese. But I still got charged full price. I think I won’t eat here except for pastries and drinks…

My friends and I come here many times for lunch. Their tomato soup and Mom’s Turkey sandwich is quite tasty. Love that I can refill my drinks at my leisure. Love even more that they carry Caffeine Free Diet Coke! That’s hard to come.

We usually love Corner Bakery, but not this location. Restaurant is not maintained very well, not the cleanest. Just a few of the issues we’ve had: The ice tea dispenser has been empty(on more than 1 occasion) we’ve brought it to the employee’s attention(more than once during that same visit) and nothing was done. We both had the vegetable lentil soup(at the same time) one bowl came out very thick, chunky, the other bowl was a bowl of watery broth with little vegetables/lentils — you could not even tell it was the same soup. We’ve ordered salads(whole) very often the Spinach Sweet Crisp salad will arrive without all the ingredients — often without the sweet crisp, but the fruit varies too. Often the salad will be more the size of a half salad — though we’ve ordered the full size. Even their sandwiches are not consistent with other locations, sometimes in taste, but sometime you’ll get a pickle & chips, sometimes just a pickle, and on the last visit — no pickle only chips. We’ve dined here in the evening, and on more than one occasion the employee’s children are left unattended in the dining area. Our last dining experience, an employee had their 5 young children left unattended in the dining room. Drinking soda, playing on Ipads and cell phones, eating cookies, attempting to enter the kitchen, leaving messes at the soda station, and 3 of them in and out of the bathrooms(not sure they were using it). Now I don’t mean to be heartless, but it’s not the best situation for anyone — including the children. I think we’re done with this location.

I go here almost weekly and had to recently update this review. It seems management has changed and I have had to wait a LONG time on my food recently. One time up to one hour for my sandwich– I love their food and things always taste good but service has seemed to go downhill in the past 6 months or so.

I eat at Corner Bakery all the time downtown for breakfast or lunch. They’re usually clean, classy, delicious and speedy. Not here. This is a really old Corner Bakery in dire need of renovation. The inside is dank and dirty. But the employees and their efficiency is the worst part. They were rude about taking orders. Employees started cleaning right around people as they were eating. And it was SLOW. Took about 20 minutes after ordering to get two salads. Seriously? What was going on back there?! Worst of all is the fact that the salads were disgusting. What should’ve been delicious, healthful salads became pools of dressing. The dressing was OK, but there must have been about a full ¾ a cup on just one salad. Everything was soggy and overpowered. Straight up disgusting. I couldn’t even finish my salad. I guess now I know to order the dressing on the side(as I usually do), especially at this location where they don’t have the common sense to realize I ordered a salad, not a pool of vinaigrette.

I am a fan of their food for a long time. This is a chain so we know the standards and quality of food. That’s all good, the only thing I didn’t like so much about this particular location is that it’s too small and have way too many tables for its size. I guess it will be better once the weather gets warm and use the patio. Overall food is great and service is not bad.

A favorite romantic spot of my girl and I. Lovely weekend breakfast or brunch. They are pretty consistent on having great options for breakfast(really decadent french toast, cold oatmeal, etc.), served through lunch hours(at least on the weekend, only time I go) so «brunch» can be breakfast or lunch food. Their chopped salad is really great too. They have great teas, and pretty darned good coffee. The coffee is much better than Panera, for example, if perhaps not quite Starbucks or Caribou. There’s even a coffee rewards card! In warm weather, you can enjoy all of this in fresh air and sunshine. :)

The All American Scrambler with chicken sausage is the perfect post work-out meal. Have them add tomato and green onions for free and you have the perfect breakfast under 400 calories

I only do catering from here for company meetings and it’s one of the top favorites among my co-workers. The sandwiches and dessert are great! It’s definitely better than other sandwich shops.

Why the bad reviews? This place has killer sandwiches. Much better than Panera, IMO! Better than Atlanta Bread company too. I really like the bread here, and the fresh toppings. It’s my favorite place to get a sandwich, apart from Le Grand in Great Falls. Desserts… don’t mind if I do!

If we’re low on funds(like usual), but we want more than just fast food, we like to go to Corner Bakery. There is a good variety sandwiches — not anything close to Panera’s selection — I usually stick with the ham & havarti on pretzel bread. Tastes great, but kills the roof of the mouth! Hubby loves the Uptown Turkey sammy with asiago bread, The kids like their pastas, but I usually just save some $$ and make their pasta at home. Almost every order we take to-go gets messed up. Don’t know what it is that they can’t get it right. The sandwichese are consistent, but their side salad options are not. Try the roasted potato and bacon salad during seasonal months… SOGOOD!

I have to agree with the reviewer who commented on the dirtiness and staff hanging out aspects of this particular Corner Bakery location. In fact, the 3 loud employees who ate their larger portioned breakfast right next to us, got up and left once they were done without cleaning the table. Their crumbs were cleaned by the next customer. The first things that I noticed when I walked in here: 1) the unpleasant smell 2) more employees than customers 3) messy catering set-up right next to the pastry display. I’ve seen better, cleaner and friendlier Corner Bakeries. Not going back to this one.
