I noticed the place smells a little funky anytime I’ve come in here, but that could just be because I’m sensitive to smells. I haven’t tried their chicken, but this is my go-to spot for Pupusas Revueltas. They’re pretty cheap(about $ 1.50 each) and they’re delicious. Just make sure you call ahead for your order. They typically take about 10 – 15 minutes to cook Pupusas here.

The food was very good. The service was kind of slow but it was worth it at the end. The inside of the restaurant was clean. They had a nice tv to watch soccer for our entertainment.

First time trying Peruvian chicken, and I must say, it didn’t disappoint. For the budget-friendly prices at King Pollo and the large amount of food you get, I can’t believe this was my first time trying it. The restaurant itself was small and somewhat cluttered, but honestly for the price, it’s worth the try. I ended getting the ¼ chicken(white meat) combo. My two sides were spaghetti and the fried rice(healthy, I know…). My aunt got the ¼ chicken(dark meat) combo with fried rice and a salad. The chicken was flavorful and the rice was delicious! My spaghetti tasted like average spaghetti and the salad was quite normal as well. I also ordered the horchata drink, which was amazing. I would definitely recommend that. I’ll definitely be back to try the other menu items!

I love king pollo. But not this location. Place looks old, dirty, and outdated. I much prefer the one in Chantilly, which is newer, cleaner and the food is more fresh.

Our favorite Peruvian chicken restaurant. We always recommend this place to all of our friends. Chicken is so juicy and delicious. Plantains and fried rice goes perfect. We go here at least once a week.

My favorite Peruvian chicken place hands down. Chicken is juicy, they give out huge portions for sides, and they don’t charge you money for extra sauce. Who could ask for more?

Amazing food! The sauces are incredible and they are not at all stingy with the portions. I visit here nearly every time I come to Sterling.

Great food for a good price. Everyone gets the quarter chicken with two sides, but I love the chicken burrito bowl.

The portions are huge! So then I thought is this shit going bad?! So I smelled it, then nibbled it than drank the food! It’s delicious. It reminds me of when I had a Mexican-American roommate in the Marines. When he made carne asada, everyone had a reason to come hangout by the grill next to the barracks. Im still trying to finish my plate but I think I’m gonna have to take the rest to go.

I’ve had it with this place. On multiple occasions we’ve gone and been told that menu items are not available. It would be fine, except that it’s always such strange items that they’re out of. Today I was told that they are«out of burritos.» after attempting to order a burrito bowl(lettuce, meat and cheese???). They obviously don’t care about my business so I’ll no longer be giving it to them. The average food is NOT worth the hassle.

Sometimes good sometimes not so good. The quality of the chicken tends to vary. I have have some really good meals and some meals that were so bad I said I wouldn’t go back. If they work out the consistency thing it could be a gem.

I’ve had the chicken there once and it was about the same as a rotisserie chicken from any local grocery store. The sides are interesting. The spaghetti seems to have mayonnaise in the sauce. The plantains are delicious. I normally order the tacos and usually get an eye roll when I do. I guess it’s a little more work than preparing the chicken and sides. The place is pretty dirty and the kitchen doesn’t look very clean. I’ll be back since this is on rotation in my office lunch group.

Great portions for the price and excellent quality. A bunch of off duty pilots from Dulles airport live off this stuff. Make sure to try all the sauces with the chicken.

It’s ok. Nothing to rave about. The Brest meat gets a bit dry and hard to swallow. Frozen fries and red beans and rice. Simple, not too bad but not great.

5 stars. This gets 5 stars because for what it is, it does it excellently. This is a cafeteria style Peruvian chicken place that gets it right. It isn’t a $ 200/head white linen tablecloth, sit down shop with a snooty hostess stand. It’s a place that moves people through the lines quickly at lunch and gives you way more food than expected for the price. ¼ white or ½ chicken + yuca fries is really their specialty. There are also burritos, tacos, papusas and some other stuff. Never tried any of them. It’s not called King Burrito or King Taco. Yuca are always piping hot, fresh and perfectly crispy. With a couple of side sauces for dipping, and a sugar based(non-HFCS) drink, lunch can be had for like $ 8. This is not a big shop. Maybe 15 or 16 tables, and it does fill up. The mix of lunch crowds seems to be techie folks in the area and quite a few latinos who seem to really enjoy this place. Spanish is prevalent. Ordering in english is sometimes perilous, but be patient, they’ll get it. If you speak even a lick of spanish, use it, and make it easy for them to get it right the first time. You’ll want to go back… the pollo calls.

Let me preface this review by saying that if I was only rating this restaurant on quality of their food alone, then it would likely be a strong 4 star contender. But my review is of the restaurant as a whole and so I had to drop its rating due to its customer service. As I mentioned above, King Pollo has some incredibly tasty food. I love their chicken and my go-to sides are usually the fried rice and macaroni/cheese. Aside from the chicken, I’ve had their bistec a la pobre, carnes asada, and pupusas. The bistec a la pobre is delicious. The carnes asada are usually pretty good(although the last time I got it, it was really salty). And the pupusas are decent, if you know what you’re ordering. My last statement is a jab at the customer service here. If you’ve ever ordered pupusas before, you know that it’s supposed to come with the cabbage slaw side. At King Pollo, I’ve found that if you’re not a seasoned foodie who knows exactly what you want, you tend to get shortchanged. A couple times, King Pollo has left off the cabbage side and only given it to me and my friends when we asked for it. Similarly, when we’ve ordered the carnes asada, it’s supposed to come with a tortilla, which we’ve also been shafted on in the past until we asked for it. As for the pupusas, a friend of mine prefers pork pupusas and asked the server if they make pork pupusas. The server enthusiastically said yes and so my friend ordered it, only to be given bean pupusas(again without cabbage slaw until he asked for it). If you’re not big on customer service and you don’t mind going back to the counter at King Pollo a couple times if they leave off parts of your dish, then I recommend it based on the quality of the food. And if you simply want Peruvian chicken done well, then yes I also encourage you to dine at KP. But if you get frustrated easily as my friend does when your plate isn’t exactly right… then you may find yourself slightly disgruntled at this establishment. ***Note, there is another King Pollo location in Chantilly, which I’ve also dined at. And their customer service is awesome.***

This place is amazing. The chicken is always just right and the sides they have are amazing. Try the Yuca with some of the mustard sauce with it. There are a few places like this around with the peruvian chicken, but this place is by far the best.

Ummm… how do I put this experience into words… Its the closest pollo a la brasa place to the besties house so you really want to love it so it can be your go to place. But sorry, I can’t. It’s just too much wrong with it. One, its dirty. No use in cleaning the tables with a cold congealed rag Mr. waiter man because that is going to do nothing. In fact, if my Mommy was here right now she would pop your hand and make you start all over cleaning all the tables for using cold water. Two. Why is your rotisserie chicken sitting on a tray under a heat lamp vs. on a hot pit spinning and turning into awesome chicken heaven? Should have walked out then… but nope. Three. The sides are all soggy and just sad. Should have know then… We grabbed a whole chicken, fried rice and green beans as the sides. Unfortunately, the chicken skin was so tough and overcooked it just couldn’t be digested. Which really sucks because the only reason anyone eats pollo a la brasa is because of the darn chicken skin. The green sauce was not flavorful at all and was just simply hot for no reason. From looking at the other reviews, maybe someone just messed up on this particular batch. The yellow sauce was bland and definitely not worth the extra calories from the mayo. The rice was very disappointing. It must have been like Uncle Ben’s or something. Everyone knows authentic restaurants use basmati and jasmine rice or some higher quality. It gave it a bland and weird texture. The seasoning blend was OK for average consumption but as someone who eats this at least once a week, I want better. The green beans we just soggy and weepy looking and just Eww. Needless to say, $ 30 later, we ended up just chucking the stuff and ordering pizzas for everyone.

This is a hole in the wall place and their lunch deal here is awesome. Peruvian chicken ¼ for $ 5, ½ chicken for $ 7. U get two sides with that too. Sometimes when I wanna change it up I get the Carne Guisada, delicious. Great food for a great price.
