The staff was very rude and slow. They We’re only friendly to the regulars. Our waitress, which seemed like she was the owner or manager on, was especially rude and unfriendly. Never asked how our food was, when I said thank you several times she never said your welcome and would just walk away. We had to sit for several minutes to be seated and get our check. I wouldn’t bother going again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Love this place! Had maybe the most amazing breakfast ever– from the muffin, to the amazing omelet, homefries, and hash– everything was phenomenal. Great place, cheerful, clean, and great service! Awesome place! :)

Other than a bit of a wait(Sunday morning), the experience was great! They offer gluten free bread($.75) and will make French toast with it :-) Cozy atmosphere and many desserts for sale. Waitress was very knowledgable and accommodating.

This place is adorable on the outside. It’s tucked into a hill and was all decorated for autumn when we were there. Inside it’s like a small town diner and clearly a favorite with the locals; the wait staff knew half the people by name. We went on a Sunday around 9:30 and the wait was about 20 minutes, but there is coffee in the waiting lounge. The food itself was great — nice and simple, just like you’d expect from a diner but without all the grease. The ambience was cozy, friendly, and clean, and the decorations were just right. We highly recommend this place, particularly in the autumn and winter when you need a nice warm place to eat home-style cooking at its best.

Amazing find! Pumpkin muffin was the best I’ve ever had. You have to get the peanut butter and banana French toast! Such nice people and place !!

I don’t often review on Unilocal, but I feel compelled to warn people. This place has really bad service, with an unfriendly staff. I think they are probably civil to their regulars or folks from the town, and the breakfast is actually good. If you are visiting from somewhere do yourself a favor and don’t bother. They really should get some young happy people to work there and fire all those nasty ladies, who apparently don’t like their jobs and take it out on paying customers.

Had read all of the reviews about the service so was reluctant. Went on Labor Day and there was about a 30 minute wait. Once seated the service was New England friendly! I had the Florentine Omelet which was excellent. My son had the raspberry cream cheese french toast and my daughter the almond joy pancakes, both excellent as well. My wife had the coconut and pineapple pancake which didn’t have much flavor. Home fries were very good and the coffee average for a diner. All and all will certainly be back. Wish I had room for pie or a muffin, they both looked excellent.

Always great! Omelettes, pancakes, French toast available in different varieties and they’re always good. The staff is especially friendly and accommodating– they always take the time to make small talk with my mom who has Alzheimer’s. The building and décor gives a warm country feeling. Homemade bread, scones, muffins, and pies are always a treat to try and, of course, the coffee picks me up.

This place was a pleasant find after hiking Wachusset Mountain. The service isn’t anything to write home about, but the French toast made with homemade oatmeal bread is the reason for this 4-star review. Make a stop here if you’re in the area – it’s worth it!

Decent breakfast but a long wait to be seated and a long wait for the food. The servers didn’t go above and beyond thats for sure. The homefries are soft unlike most places that serve them crispy(I prefer crispy). And the directions here don’t actually match the location of the restaurant. Overall a meh…

Been by it many times, and the wife and I went to try it out for breakfast, and we were very satisfied with what we had.

We live in the area and have surveyed many of the breakfast spots. Always looking for someplace new to try, we stopped in. PRO: It’s local to us. Charming, New England’y exterior. CON: Squeezed into table that was inches from the couples on either side. There were other open tables and spots at the small counter but we were seated almost in the laps of two other couples. The food was good, however the home fries were underwhelming, appearing to be some pan-cooked cubed potatoes with some onions tossed in. Nothing special. Eggs were done very well, and the toast was good(but we paid extra to get their homemade bread). I’m not sure you should have to pay .75 extra for decent toast with breakfast. Major problem with this venue was the service — or lack thereof. We got the obligatory serving of coffee(it’s breakfast, right? Everyone gets coffee…) and after that, we didn’t see the waitress until our food arrived and then… poof… she was gone. I shouldn’t say gone, there were a number of waitstaff around, but they were more interested in the regular who stopped by with his kids. Not until we finally got our check did anyone ask if we wanted a refill of coffee. We tried to flag them down to no avail. If you’re a regular, perhaps the service is better. We are locals but won’t become regulars.

The Good: This is a gorgeous small breakfast place with a great menu. Whatever breakfast fare you’d like you will find it here. I had the Eggs Irish(It is St. Patty’s day afterall). The eggs were cooked perfectly, hash was great and the home fries were perfect. The Bad: I have no idea what brand of coffee they serve, but it is awful. The Ugly: The service was awful. The wait staff were disinterested in saying hello, eventually took beverage orders, waited almost 10 minutes for order to be taken and had to physically go find someone to get the check. Reason why the wait? Waitresses were busy complaining and also eating their own meal. I tip generously, not today though. This place would be a diamond in the rough if the staff actually showed an ounce of interest in the customers.

We stopped here after leaving Great Wolf Lodge. Finally, some REAL food after 2 days of pizza and junk. Not sure where the complaints of service came from. Our experience, while relatively brief, was very nice. We were seated fairly quickly, orders taken and food served fast. Waitress was very sweet, especially with the kids. My eggs benedict were perfect and I practically licked the plate clean. Pancakes are huge, but everyone enjoyed them. They have a crazy selection of pancakes, etc., btw. That’s about it. Good food, good service. We’d hit it again if/when we go back up there. The only«downside» I can see is that the place IS small, so I can imagine long wait times at certain times of the day.

Entered the main door and was rushed into the«waiting room» while we passed 3 open(and dirty) tables on the short walk over. Sat at a table and tried to order but the waitress was already helping 3 other tables. Seems a little understaffed. Left after around 25 minutes without any food.

I’ve tried this place a number of times over the past 5 years and have finally stopped as the service has been consistently slow and the food is only average. I’ll travel 8 extra miles to go to Lou Roc’s and get consistently great service with consistently great food. I’ve stopped going because it never got better.

Service was AWFUL!!! Waited 20 mins to be seated and over 35 for our food. She also forgot to put my order in so it was and other 10 for mine. My husband had the omelet and it was yummy and I had a burger. Nothing special. Our waitress was rude and never came to check on us. Had to ask a different waitress for things throughout our lunch. I have been here in the past and loved it, but today was a completely different experience. I will not be back!

Came upon this little gem while driving to VT for the weekend. We took the back roads from Framingham and by the time we arrived in Sterling we were ready for a quick stop for breakfast. The service is great! We felt very welcomed. The place is also very charming. They had games and books on a shelf, which you could use at your table. So while we waited for our food, which wasn’t that long, we played a game. However, the food was amazing! Their Florentine Benedict was so delicious as was their homemade bread. My fiancé ordered their oatmeal homemade bread and it was the best bread I’ve ever had!
