Overall they did as for Star at least most the time they would get a five. The price is it good the food is quality and its usually pretty fresh. We love their blueberry and banana muffins. We also get ice cream cake especially for birthdays

According to «every day almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes»; yet, Countryside’s Safeway does not reduce the price for day– old or stale food.

Okay so let me clarify here: the baked goods are typical Safeway quality — not bad. My review is specifically focused on the management and hours of operation. Where I come from, bakers generally get to work early enough in the wee hours of the morning to prepare, knead, and have dough in the oven and loaves of fresh bread ready for sale by 6 am through 10 am during the typical morning(read«breakfast’) rush. At Safeway, the only thing you’ll find rushing between 6am — 10 am is the air conditioner that blasts over your face as soon as you walk through the double glass doors. Otherwise, there’s that stale day old bread still sitting there from the night before available still for FULL price. But wait, be sure to arrive before 1030 or those stale loaves will be taken away by a bakery employee. Want fresh bread? You’ll have to wait, «Ma’am», until 11 am for the fresh baked loaves to be ready. Sigh. Maybe it’s a culture thing, but isn’t bread something we all want first thing in the morning too?
