The Blacksheep Tavern

Nice little pub with great burgers and pizza. Skip the nachos very disappointing. Staff was friendly and very attentive to our every need.

There are two aspects to the Black Sheep Tavern: the bar, and the take out. I have experience with the latter, not the former.
As far as the pizza, some of my friends love it, but it’s not my style. That said, it’s decent, better than frozen.
I’m prompted to write a review because of what happened recently. I called in an order for two pizzas, and waited the estimated 20 minutes before I went to pick them up. While paying, a woman from their bar section came in and took my pizza, to serve to someone in the bar area; I didn’t know it was my pizza until the takeout staff figured out what happened. They apologized, and said it would take about 7 minutes more, which I was okay with. But that 7 minutes turned into 20 minutes, and I didn’t know if they forgot my order. If I hadn’t paid for the pizza already, I would have walked out. Their staff caused the problem and they didn’t do anything to try and make the customer happy, such as offer a refund for that one pizza.
For the pizza, I’d give them three stars, but for the service, one star.

We usually come here when we’re in the area visiting family. This past weekend we had a particularly nice visit at the Black Sheep.
We were greeted and served drinks right away. When we met up with friends, we got a nice table outside. There were 5 of us, and drinks were never unattended to. For dinner, I ordered the Eggplant Sub. It was HUGE. I was surprised how good it was. Usually eggplant doesn’t have a lot of flavor, but this was delicious, not overly fried, with lots of cheese. It comes with fries AND onion rings. I could only finish half of it. Definitely a good price for a huge meal.
In the past, I’ve had the greek salad, mozzarella sticks, and other apps. Nice little place, with friendly service. You can’t go wrong with the prices, either!

Great take out, great pizza, big and really good, friendly little bar

The bar is good the pizza is bloody awful, flat, few toppings and the greasiest I have ever seen. Pools of it. If you gotta get the grease because you drank to much, this is your hole in the wall. Yuck.

I just get the pizza here and it’s been really great. All other pizzas in the area make me sick but their pizza is delicious. I am not a big fan of the atmosphere with all the TVs.

An update is needed I returned months later. This time experience was much better met a local very nice and even met the hip cool owner. The vibe was great and my business felt welcomed… Cool place to see live band.

I won a gift cert to this place, and decided to go there for drinks & dinner. I was underwhelmed. Its a typical sports bar, which I don’t usually frequent. I ordered a Guinness, and, well, it wasn’t poured properly. Now, this may seem like a small matter, but if you enjoy your beer, then its huge. Improperly poured killed the taste. That was my queue to leave. I still have $ 17 on a gift cert, and likely will never redeem it. It just isn’t my atmosphere. In fairness I HAVE heard that their food is decent, but didn’t get to experience any of it. The main area is crowded and small. The atmosphere is definitely geared toward the sports watching crowd, which I am not a part of. If that’s your thing, this bar may suit you well. As a tavern, its not really that, as there isn’t a separate area to simply sit and eat, without comingling. The staff were friendly enough-​we were greeted & served quickly, it was crowded, with only 2 people working. But, after we got our beers, it took 15 minutes for someone to come back. We used the gift cert for the 2 beers, then ate elsewhere. If sports bars & cheap beer is your thing, this place may work better for you. My tastes aren’t towards that, and my rating reflects this.

Ug! Worse hamburgers ever! No ambience at all!

Food and pizza is good, decent drinks, bands fine as well. Get’s packed early.

Great place. Need to get there early if you want a seat otherwise you will stand. TV’s cover most angles so you can watch the game from most anywhere.
The staff is always pleasant and handle, the sometimes large volume of people, professionally.
Recommend a combo of boneless Thai chicken and have them put it on a cheese pizza.

Great bar food! Excellent bone-​in wings, both wet and dry rubs. Pizza is also great, very nice NY style thing crust which is so hard to find in Mass for some reason. Great service and very friendly staff. The food was all reasonable and ther are plenty of TV’s to watch games etc. Good beer n pizza on a weekend afternoon place or for a quick bar food dinner. I will be back!

Spectacular service!!!
Everyone was sooo friendly, but never over bearing. The place serves basic bar food, nothing out of the ordinary. We had chicken wings and a salad. The wings were great & the salad very large. I took half of it home.
A blues band was playing while the Celtics were playing a Game 7. The band was great and there were there plenty of TV’s.
I will definitely be back. And I plan on trying the pizza. I heard it’s great!

Wow! The food is great! We had a burger that needed an elevator just to get to the top! Only kidding. The portions are very large and prices are VERY reasonable. Now, it wouldn’t help if you got a lot of so-​so food for a low price, however, that is not the case here. The burgers are outstanding, and the antipasto was very tasty. Didn’t even need ketchup or mustard for the burgers. The pizza looked marvelous, so we will have that next time. The wings are a must try, as friends had those.
The music is really good with a warm vibe from the patrons. The servers were very efficient, no empty plate or glass sat on the table too long, and it was full house busy. The owners mingle with the crowd and really care. Lastly, the bathrooms are small, but clean.
If you are wondering if you should go there for some drinks, music, or a bite to eat– just go.

Very cool fun place to hang out. Good music, keno, delicious nachos and pizza. Great atmosphere. Owner is awesome, always around and available.

My new favorite place! We ended up there to see a blues band we know about. Music is out on the deck. We’re sort of turning into Sunday regulars for the blues show w/​A Ton of Blues. With the special guests it’s like seeing a different (yet incredible) blues band every weekend.
The food is really good and the drinks are great too. It’s sort of a haul to get there for us but even that’s a real nice ride (We go on the street bike :-)

I go to Tuesday night Trivia at the Black Sheep — best trivia around. John gives excellent musical clues that require you to really dig deep to create connections and find your way to the answer.
The pizza here is delicious, as are the onion rings, but you can never go wrong with pizza, beer, and fried foods, so who am I kidding?!
