I had a great experience there. I have really curly hair and am quite afraid to let anyone cut it. Ms. Vivian was so kind and confident with my hair and it turned out great!!! It feels so healthy and it has the shape I needed! She was quick and very efficient. Needless to say I’m very satisfied!

This is the best salon around for ALL types of hair! The salon owner, Vivian P., is extremely versed and incredibly talented. Not only is she highly skilled, she truly cares about the health of your hair! Vivian imparts her wisdom and enlightens her clients about the current condition of their hair and, if needed, she shares her plans on restoring it. If you agree, she executes her plan with serious aplomb. Vivian only uses top-​notch products that are more gentle on the hair, promote growth and add moisture plus a nice luster. No more products that cause dry flakes to sit on the scalp! I used to travel to Washington, DC to get my hair properly washed and set, etc. I had such a cumbersome time finding a stylist in the «Dulles Corridor» that truly cared about my hair and me as a whole entity. I feel truly blessed to have found Urban Bleu — an incredible salon in Northern Virginia! You will be very happy with either Vivian or Aisha — they are exceedingly accomplished, versatile and caring. Moreover, at Urban Bleu, they are conscious of your time; therefore, they exude professionalism regarding appointments — usually, you are in and out before you know it! FYI: Vivian is the former owner of Mahogany Salon in Herndon, VA.

I wanted to like this place, believe me, I really did. The shop is clean and the staff are very friendly. But I never left with that «wow» feeling after my hair was done. This most recent time was the final straw for me. I went in for a trim and it was suggested that I add a piece to my hair for an angled bob look. The final product was cute, but something I could’ve done on my own and was ridiculously expensive. The cost for two tracks and 4 rows which were very small was a trumped up charge that I’m embarrassed to say I paid.
Embarrassingly enough the stylist noticed my surprise at the cost and tried to make up for it by knocking off a few dollars, but not enough to lessen the sting any. Without making a scene, I paid and left quietly, never to return.
In summary, nice enough people, good for hair care, but I’m not a fan of their lack of transparent pricing. It’s also my fault for not asking along the way, but lessons learned.
Update: 4 days later the tracks that were put in are slipping out, and I’m not rough on my hair at all. So to add insult to injury there’s even poor quality to the work that was done at said ridiculous price!

Very professional and efficient. The clientele isn’t there to lollygag, we have stuff to do. They get you in and out and do a fabulous job. Doesn’t matter whom you make your appointment with (Aisha, Vivian…), they will do a great job. They offer discounts on the slow days and are not like the normal hair salon where they talk on the phone and make you wait forever.
They offer products to purchase there in the store and offer the Phyto system of hair relaxer. The receptionist Kelly calls to make sure you are ready for your next appointment. Great system because sometimes you just forget!
It’s so hard to find a nice place like this and I’m so glad I received a referral. Only issue I have: it’s pretty far from my home. If they could move about 20 minutes closer to me I’d give them 6 stars!

I absolutely love this salon, I tell everyone about this place. I finally found a salon that is near me and does natural hair without taking ALL DAY. The stylist are extremely friendly and so professional. You can feel the good vibe as soon as you walk in. I see Randi but everyone there is good from looking at their work.

I am revising my earlier review as it is now obsolete. It applied to an earlier time. I am no longer a customer. I was asked to discontinue coming to this shop after asking, after a two hour wait for my appointment, when I would be served. The owner telephoned me at home and said I had embarrassed her in front of her customers and was not to come in again. I would prefer not to give the business any type of rating but, this system, by design, requires a rating. Please consider that my rating is in that regard.
