This is the best for out-of-towners. Great beer specials and super friendly staff.

Nobody does sweet pepper bacon like EJs. Ridiculously tasty.

What a cool place! Loved the gift shop to kill time prior to getting a table and the fries and burgers were out of this world. We even went back the following day for one of the best milkshakes ever!

Blah! Come for the experience, not the food. On a busy Saturday afternoon our party of six had an average time. They were understaffed and or service suffered from it. It’s nice to shop in the store while you’re waiting for a table. I don’t know the significance or history of the place and maybe that’s the thrill. Get the burger and fry and don’t expect much else.

I think you come here for the experience rather than the food. It’s very large and holds a lot of people. I didn’t go to college here, so I can’t speak for it as a bar scene location, but in daylight the food is alright. The chili was kind of awful but that was redeemed by the loaded cheese fries my group split. I also am a fan of the color changing cup, but I’m kinda a sucker for those

Food was sooo good! Our table had southwest blackened chicken salad, rib eye steak sandwich the Fowl Thing ! We all agree we’d order the same again! Cutest clothes shop too! We went about 1:00 in the afternoon, wasn’t too crowded & got our food pretty quick! Clean place & service was good ! No complaints from our party of four!

Came through here on our way back from Fort Worth, and I will say that I don’t regret it. Wait was about 20 minutes, which isn’t too bad because they were packed. As we waited we browsed through the store and bought some shirts. and the store isn’t overpriced like you think they would be. The food was good. Not great, not terrible, but good. Took them awhile to get the food out, but they were busy so I’ll give it to them… Now those fries though. they were probably some of the best I’ve ever had. and I’ve had a lot of fries. I had the chicken sandwich with the pineapple on it. and it was good. The chicken wasn’t dry. For a college town tourist place this one gets the win, and if I’m ever back in town I’ll definitely stop again!

A staple for Stillwater, OK. I recommend Joe’s to everyone. Elm St. Fowl Thing, is a great chicken sandwich with sweet peppered bacon. Big enough to share, because you will want to start out with an order or two of sweet peppered bacon cheese fries. Great selection of beer and drinks. If you are in town for a college football game, stop by. Eat, drink, and then shop for yourself or a friend in the connected Joe’s Clothes.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. I got a burger that had a good quality taste with baked beans with a good flavor. Defintely a great hangout spot with lots of event going on from the little calendar I got to see.

Great college bar. Had the chicken sandwich and was actually really good. Can see that place being a blast on OSU game day. Looks like a big tourist attraction now so can see it getting a little over crowded.

I guess the first question you gotta ask yourself is why did you come here. And the answer would start with, «it’s an iconic institution affiliated with a great school and a very supportive community». The restaurant is loud, charismatic, and fun. This isn’t a place you go for a quiet burger in the corner. Would I come here often … Probably not. But as s visiting parent of a OSU student it’s great to get caught up in the energy of the school and community. Ok. Enough of this. How about the food. The cheese fries with the sweet bacon are Awe-some. For $ 7 bucks they will be eaten with gusto. Bam … There gone:( I also had a burger with chips. The bread was so soggy with grease that I dumped it. The meat quality was good though. My daughter had the pulled pork which was very good and my wife had a salad(she said it was ok. If your into that salad kinda thing). I’ve also had the chicken before and in hindsight, I wish I would have ordered that instead. Oh well … As for seating. Good luck. Ask to join others at a table and meet new people or just wait by a table for those to leave. The staff was friendly and very hard working. They are all students working through school so tip well.

What happened to Eskimo Joe’s?!? It has become a tourist«trap». Gone are the days of suffering through a chef salad to enjoy the ambience. Now it is tricky to enjoy the ambience at all. I’m usually excessively positive but this is sad. Fix it, Stan. This is the staple. Not Mexico Joe’s, not Mojo’s, THIS! 3 stars because I could order a drink quick from the bar… but only because 8 people are here… for 3 open bars.

Finally made it. Annoyed at the start. I tried the blue cheese burger and was disappointed with how little blue cheese was included for the price. I was also unimpressed overall with the flavor and substance of the burger. You can’t upgrade meal fries to cheese or chili cheese. Why would I want to buy a separate order of fries and get fries with my meal. Horrible policy. Heard numerous customers ask for option while we were there. I would have paid an upgrade but wasn’t given option. I reuse to order a separate set of fries as did others. Wife’s SW chicken salad was disappointing. Said chicken was well seasoned but that a McDonalds salad is usually better… The worst part was that for the price, I actually left hungry. That is so unusual in Oklahoma. Sorry, we wont be back…

After hearing multiple people talk about this place, and seeing the shirts like everywhere in Stillwater and Tulsa, I decided to give Eskimo Joes a whirl. The menu has a little bit of everything and it has to be famous for a reason… right?! We dined with a group of 5 on a Tuesday night around 6:15pm. I was pretty shocked as they had ample parking(at multiple lots) but it was actually hard to find parking! When we walked in, they said it was going to be a wait of about 15 minutes(I guess I can handle that). We browsed the store but were seated much more quickly than expected. We chose to sit outside, which is actually up on the roof and kind of nice. There are all sorts of levels to sit, drink and eat, its a pretty big place. Most areas have tvs for sports as well. Our server greeted us pretty quickly, but everything else was relatively slow. We ordered right away– I guess they are KNOWN for thier cheese fries, as there are like 10 varieties on the menu. I did not indulge, but my group did and they seemed to like them. I had the buffalo chicken dinner, it was ok. I would say its decent bar food at best. The prices are insanely cheap, both for food and drinks. 60 dollar tab for 5 people for dinner… cheap! If you are in Stillwater and want to check out the local college scene, I think this is a good place to do it.

I had a terrible experience here yesterday! This is a favorite of mine for grabbing a beer, burger, and cheese fries, but their new policy on game day of «find a seat on your own» leaves 100’s hovering around tables which makes everyone uncomfortable and ruins the experience. Come on guys… thats just poor customer service! Have you been so successful for so long that you don’t give a shit about your patrons any longer? We’ll find another game day(and other days) option if this policy continues.

For 9 years everyone has told me that I must eat at Joe’s. The only thing to eat there is the fries! The cheese fries with bacon were awesome. I also ordered a hickory cheddar burger. We had waited 40 minutes for a table then waited at least that long for our food. I ordered my burger well done. It was Very pink. Yuck. The atmosphere was fun and nice but not worth the wait or the raw burger.

Eskimo Joes seems to be synonymous with Stillwater and since I’ve been coming to a lot of OSU baseball games, it was only a matter of time before I found myself here. With so many of these type places popping up in every town over the last 10 – 15 years, claiming to be original(although they all seem to have the same junk all over the walls, the claims of the best selection of beer, t-shirts for sale, and underwhelming pub style burgers) suffice it to say, I was skeptical. We weren’t really hungry as we were just killing time before the OSU game, so we decided to order some beer and cheese fries with bacon. These were probably the best cheese fries I could have imagined. The bacon, was some sort of heavenly sweet, meaty bacon that I couldn’t get enough of. Next thing I know we were all ordering entrees and more appetizers! I had a burger(with that heavenly bacon of course), and it was just what a pub burger should be, thick, juicy, and tasty. We were all more than a bit surprised at how much we enjoyed the food. There probably isn’t much I can say that would sway a person to try the famous Eskimo Joes, either its a place you’d try or it’s not. All I can personally say is we had a good time and the food was surprising good. This is what all those type of beer and burger sports bars should aspire to be. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. And while the 5 star rating may seem a little high. I couldn’t help rating it that high because my expectations were so overwhelmingly exceeded.

I came here with my coworker and our managers while we were in Stillwater, OK for a recruiting trip. My coworker had heard from her friend who goes to OSU that this was the place to go while in Stillwater. We heard this repeated from the various attendees at the career fair so we decided to eat here on a cold Thursday night. We arrived around 7pm and were told that there was about a 15 minute wait — which of course, we were willing to live with. While wandering back to the ladies room, we ran into the mascots of Eskimo Joe’s — it was quite a sight to see! We were actually seated fairly quickly(but close the door so it was a bit chilly!) and our waitress was quick to come by and make sure that we were taken care of. So, you can’t come here without ordering the fries, and we did. TWOORDERS: Sweet Peppered Bacon Cheese Fries and Black and Bleu Cheese Fries. OMG the amount of stuff on those guys was insane. By the time we finished our fries and our entrees showed up(burgers for all of us) we were all having trouble finishing our dinners. Excellent and fun experience. Service was speedy and unobtrusive(but again… fun!) and food was fresh and delicious. If you are ever in the area I seriously recommend trying this place!!!

I’ll come right out with it: I’m EXTREMELY biased. I worked here for 3 ½ years after college in the early nineties and it was an absolute blast. I made lifelong friends, put off real life for a few years, and even walked away with a profit sharing check! Joe’s looks way different from my days… they’ve moved and updated the bathrooms, added an elevator to the second floor, enlarged the clothing store, and –finally!- added a rooftop deck. I worked there right after«the dome» replaced the outdoor beer garden, so we would sit out in the back parking lot with pitchers of beer and talk about how much we wanted an outdoor deck above the clothing store. The food is mostly the same. The blackened chicken sandwich is delicious — I recommend cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickle, grilled onions, and plenty of orange marmalade sauce and mayo. There are a ton more sides available… in my day if you didn’t want fries your options were baked beans, pasta salad, or cottage cheese. Now they have cole slaw, applesauce, and green beans. I generally always get the blackened chicken with a side salad, but sometimes I have to go with an LJ, aka Little Joe, with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. This is a great option if you’re going to get the world famous cheese fries, which are quite filling. If you’re not into the spicy, go with the Fowl Thing, which is marinated in a teriaki style sauce. Either type of chicken is also available on their yummy house salad. And of course, there is the classic Joe’s Special — a burger you can customize exactly how you want it, or a Joe’s Dog. I ate at Joe’s nearly every day for 3 years and I never got tired of the food. Some of the items on the menu(the Chef’s Pasta and Chicken Chili pasta salads) were actually created by employees while I worked there. We would get bored and come up with crazy combinations, a few of which ended up on the menu. I worked there right as some expansion of the beers and menu started. There are a variety of beers available now, but when I first started, the Silver Bullet was the only one available on tap. So go for lunch, or go at night for the live music. There is always something going on at Joe’s, and it’s insane on OSU game days. If you find yourself in Stillwater aka God’s Country a visit to Joe’s is an absolute must!
