I was a TCF customer for 10 years. TCF is like an abusive boyfriend. Seemed great at first but once you put all of your eggs in their basket they abuse you. They’ll be just nice enough at times to make you think that it will work out, but to no avail the problems repeat over and over until you finally muster up the courage to leave once and for all. After you’ve left you’ll look back and wonder why you didn’t do that sooner, and how much time(and money) you’ve wasted. Do yourself a favor and avoid this bank ATALL costs… unless of course you like being abused and taken advantage of.

Spare yourself the headache. Though the people behind the counter here are ok, the overall customer service experience at TCF is dismal. I’ve been waiting 2 months just to get my PIN so I can use my account. 2MONTHS! And SEVERALHOURS trying to sort the mess out with them. I predict TCF eventually gets run out of town by Wells Fargo if they don’t completely rethink how to respect a customer’s time and money. I personally plan on closing my account asap.(Then again, is it really an account if you can’t even use it?)
