I visit the Stockton, CA this past Sat May 17th. I was going to the REI annual membership sale, which is in the same shopping complex, and saw someone holding a sign for a store closing at your store, fixtures included. I walked into the store and not a single greeting, no one asked me if I needed help nor a goodbye when I left. I even lingered at the jewelry area as I am going to a wedding in Hawaii in a couple of day and wanted something new to wear. It would have been ok if none of the sales-women said hi/bye/offer help to anyone, but it looks like I was not your target consumer group(middle aged white women) and thus I was ignore. I have money too! Should I have brought my fiancé’s grandma with me? She’s 100% Caucasian, her last name is ‘Smith’ if that helps. That will be the first and last time I will step into your store. Good luck with your bankruptcy liquidation.

I actually used the review from Teresa to get the courage to purchase on-line and it’s true, it’s true! You can return on-line purchases to the local store. Keep your receipt and this applies even to «clearance» items. I come here when I need a «special» separate for an occasion. Clothing is mainly dressy/casual;great choices for a weekend destination wedding, a trip to the wine country or if you need some casual dress up clothing for the«not your run of the mill» trips out to eat & Unilocal about it! I was especially captured by the fact that you get your own personal shopper that learns your name and brings you selections if those you chose don’t work out. Now remember, I’m used to the discount clothing store shopping experience where I can score deep discounts and covet great bargains… but still, there’s something to be said for«living like the other half»! I should also say that the clothing I’ve purchased has worn well, survived washings and is quality stuff!

I purchased some apparel online from Coldwater Creek specifically because the website stated returns could be done at a retail store or via post. Since there’s one here in town, I went ahead and purchased some items. Unfortunately, because I’m between sizes, they didn’t fit properly, and for one item the color wasn’t exactly what I wanted. So off I went with the items in their bags and the packing slip. I expected a nightmare to conduct the return because I use a Shop Safe number online to protect the original card number. No nightmare on Pacific Avenue — I was so wrong. The saleswoman(I forgot her name but she had pink breast cancer awareness ribbon on her name-tag) was cheery, helpful and when I informed her about the Shop Safe number replied«No worries.» She was right — no worries! She invited me to take a look around to see if I wanted to exchange anything, but also let me in on a tip: a 35% off sale happening this coming Thursday. What a gem! Most salespeople want you to purchase items at top-dollar, not at a discount. Unwittingly, I dragged the fiancé along and she invited him to have a seat in a cushy chair and read the newspaper! Talk about customer service! I am going back on the 35% off day and I’ve posted this review so that everyone knows they are the nicest salespeople in Stockton(and one of the nicest ever!). In addition, they have an extremely liberal return policy. The apparel is like a feminized Eddie Bauer meets professional bohemian chic. I’d say Coldwater Creek offers well made apparel for thirty-somethings and up, pretty but not pretentious, stylish without being trendy. Did I gush enough?
