Denny’s

This is diner food but it was well prepared here. My friend had a burger and I had the sirloin steak. He liked his burger. I liked my sirloin steak. I wanted to have the gluten-​free muffin with my meal but they were out. Our waitress very helpful and friendly. I would come here again. I like this area of town.

Great food but poor service. Waited for 20 minutes before they even asked what we would like to drink.

Updating to four stars. Four stars not for gourmet dining but four stars as a Denny’s. These guys have been trying hard recently and it’s time to acknowledge that.
This is my go-​to place for a decent and cheap breakfast. They’re open 24÷7÷365 so whenever the urge strikes I can eat breakfast. They offer a $ 2, $ 4, $ 6, and $ 8 menu. I order two of their $ 4 breakfasts.
This is what the two breakfast consist of:
Four eggs
Two strips of bacon or two sausage links
Two pancakes
Biscuits and gravy
Hashbrowns
Now that’s a lot of food for eight dollars. It satisfies my craving of having breakfast for dinner! I specify the way I want the eggs and bacon cooked and ask for extra butter and syrup for the pancakes and I get exactly what I ask for!
This particular Denny’s has been remodeled in the last couple of years… looks fresh and clean.
Kudos to the friendly and efficient staff!

Ever since they remodeled, this place sucks! Went there today for breakfast with my family, and the waitress didn’t seem to understand a simple order, so we reiterated it twice. Then it came wrong, and as we were telling her what was wrong she waved a hand and said she knew. «She knew?»
She returned one time, with the check, asking if all was well. I advised her all was not well, and along with getting ALL 4 ORDERS she delivered wrong, had forgotten the 5^th order. Get this — the food we did get was all COLD! I advised her to the missing take it off the check. After a 10 — minute wait, she returned the same check and said they’d take care of it at the register.
Another waitress at the register gave me the stinkeye and asked why I hadn’t noticed the problem when the waitress brought the order. I explained that we had tried — and she gave me attitude!
As I left, I bellowed, «This place sucks!» Looking at the scattered customers, I saw some nodding heads. The patrons know Denny’s Waterloo blows chunks. Avoid this craphole like the plague.

Stopped in for a late, late night meal. Tried the Grand Slamwich… OK, but nothing special. Service was good. This 24 hr facility is always a go-​to restaurant in a pinch. Being right off Highway 99… it is easy in and out.

Over all my visit was better than last time although my food was burned the employees were not rude

We walked in & a waitress walked right past us saying nothing. So we stood and waited like the sign says to «wait to be seated.» She went to help another table, then walked back looking at us confused and said «oh take a seat anywhere.» We did, and she took our drink order immediately. She walked away, and then came back to help the table behind us & another staff member asked if we had our drink orders taken, we said yes. The initial waitress heard her inquiry and passed our order onto her, then we heard that lady pass on our order to yet another staff member. It was not that busy, to relay our drink order 3 times, which wasn’t a difficult one (2 waters with lemon, hot tea, and a Shirley temple.) There were about ⁶⁄₇ other tables. We get our drinks, but she didn’t take our order or even ask if we were ready. So we close up all menus, set them at the edge of the table so they knew we were ready. Our meal came fairly quick. Didn’t like that we had to ask for everything 2 or 3 times like to get refills or to get boxes to go considering they were not busy at all. We ordered something that came with chips & salsa & wanted to take it to go so asked for a salsa in a to go container. We had already paid at this point, and we sat for awhile waiting for the salsa & we decided to get up and go to the counter and ask for it on our way out. She asked if we needed a bag, and I said no. Then jokingly told my husband on the way out, «didn’t want to what 5 minutes to get it.»
The staff really aren’t that friendly, the food, well my food, was as expected, Dennys. My husband didn’t like his sandwich. But it’s Dennys.
The place appeared clean and well kept.
Just not a welcoming environment, overall.

Okay like everyone else out there I have eaten a few hamburgers in my life. I have to confess that the last place I would have picked would be Denny’s. I mean come on, Denny’s the place with all the blue haired old folks? Yeah they have a decent breakfast, and you can find a Denny’s at dang near anywhere. I have eaten barbecue at Rendezvous in Memphis, prime rib at House of Prime Rib in the City and pastrami at Katz Deli in NYC, so I don’t mind going out of my way but… Denny’s? If you are looking for a milestone of a burger take my word for it, and order the double cheeseburger and fries. The burgers are huge, seasoned well, all the produce is fresh, and the fries are great (not greasy or too salty) and I’m not a fry guy. You get waited on by good folks, Free refills on the drinks, whats not to love. My favorite Burger is from Denny’s I dare you to try one.

My family and I ate dinner tonight at Denny’s on Waterloo Rd in Stockton. This is the closest location to our home and it is a freshly remodeled Dennys. I usually don’t complain because I enjoy eating here with my family but tonight I was throughly irritated. I chose the new Cali Avocado Skillet ($ 6.99), my husband chose the Tilapia Ranchero ($ 10.99), both of my kids ordered a kids entrée ($ 4.39/each). I also purchased 1 regular beverage ($ 2.29) and 2 of the Animal kids cups with lemonade ($ 2.19/each) for my son and daughter. Before we were done I ordered 3 kids Oreo shakes ($ 2.09/each) to-​go. I noticed on the kids menus that it states that «kids eat free at participating restaurants with a minimum $ 4.00 adult entrée purchase» I received my check and I got up to go pay. I asked the manager at the register if kids eat free and she said yes. Then she said «oh I can only take one of the kids meals off of your tab.» I asked why. She said «you only ordered 1 entrée over $ 7.99.» I said that’s not what the menu says. She said «we have it stated right here, it’s the rules.» She pointed to a little black and white paper sign at the register that said you had to purchase an entrée $ 7.99 or more. I showed her the menu and she said «well we have a sign on the window that says ‘Kids eat free details inside.’ I said «exactly and it said on the menu that it must be $ 4.00 or more.» She continued to argue with me. I said «it’s not that big of a deal.» I paid my tab… ($ 38.13) and left. It’s not the matter of the relatively small amount of the other $ 4.39 that is bothering me… It’s the discrepancy. The menu says nothing about restaurants having the right to set the price. They are handing out menus to customers that say one thing while they post a small sign at the register that says something else. It’s not right. I think next time we will eat across the street at Perkos. I guess they have to pay for that new remodel job they had done.

Worst Denny’s experience I’ve EVER had. We waited an hour for our food before getting up to leave. I went to pay for the coffee that they brought us 15 minutes after sitting down. As soon as I stepped up to pay for it they said «oh your order is right here.» I asked them to box it up because I wasn’t waiting any longer, told the lady how long we waited and she said «sorry guys» and walked away. I understand that you have to pay for something you order, but they didn’t even offer to take the coffee off the tab or comp our meal even though it took an hour. People that ordered after we ordered started getting their food before us, and we were a party of 2 people, who both ordered directly off the menu. No substitutions, no add ons. NOTHING. Absolutely ridiculous.

Today had a great breakfast at dennys met up with a friend and spent 5 hrs talking. The staff was so kind and dindt even get mad we were there for so long. Nice to know sharing time with loved ones is still valued. Thanks everyone at dennys for being great people.

This review star rate is based on my visits on sat and sun morn … Great service great food great prices … We’re regulars and it’s great … However my son has totally different experience here late night … The counter person has no clue of even what’s on the menu … She doesn’t speak English very well at all … Isn’t this Americas diner … I know America has lot of culture and nationalities … But as we all know America is an English speaking country and it’s quite difficult to order … He has been over charged … Orders wrong … Charging him 3 times for same item … And then can’t communicate the rectify the situation … Very frustrating … But we still like and frequent this restaurant often … Sat and sun morn wait staff rocks… although I miss the long counter before the remodel … But the Both upgrade is comfy

Worst Denny’s ever best bet is to go to the march ln locations or other in stockton this place definitely has the worst service for ie. waitress started giving me and my friends an attitude which wasnt acceptable on any level made us wait too long like I said you’ll see it

Called in an order to-​go. Got there and waited five minutes for them to finishy order because they didn’t have clam chowder soup… I got the $ 6 turkey sandwich with a soup. Chicken noodle soup was very good, it comes with a lot of chicken and the turkey sandwich was good as well for $ 6 what more can you ask for…

This place is open and its newly remodeled… Nice place more modern feel… Same menu same food as all the other dennys I gave it 4 starts cause its remodeled holla at yo boy!

Went in to have the t– bone and shrimp. Then we were told there was no shrimp. No Mac and cheese, no baked potatoes. So we were told by management that the meal would then only be 14.89 a plate,.We were charged full price of 18.00 then when we let the cashier know that the manager said 14.89 because of no sides were available. She proceeded to argue with us. That she would only give us that price that one time and that it was our fault. I was like really!!! How is it our fault that you don’t have most of the sides in your menu. Very rude. She definitely needs major customer service training. will not return here.

I would like to say this was one of the best Denny’s I have been to, but I can not say that. What I would like to say that this is not one of the worse places I have been to. The reason for that is due to the customer service the employees provided during my visit here.
They were able to take drink orders very fast, within a few minutes of me sitting down to look at the menu, plus any questions that I had were answered very fast and accurately. When the drinks arrived back, I was able to order, of course I order the exactly same meal doing to Denny’s.
I will have to say that the meal was placed in front of me, in a very fast night, but there was nothing special about the meal, the food was not very hot, so it had been waiting to be served for sometime, so because of that I will not be giving this place four or five stars, but they are just doing the minimum to get by.

The absolute worst diner I have been to. All the tables were dirty and it was drafty. My friend and I both ordered the Ultimate Skillet, his over medium and mine over easy with two extra eggs. The cook got the order wrong and put three eggs on each skillet and then cut out one egg from my friend’s skillet. There was barely any food on the skillets when they came to us and if it wasn’t for the Cholula it would not have been edible. Adding insult to injury, they made us wait five minutes just to pay and there were only six other customers in the placeThey just lost two customers and potentially many more. Note to the manager: hiring family that can’t cook will only serve you up misery. Go to Perko’s if you want good service and good food.

No refills, got my order wrong and tried to say she didn’t
took them 20 mins for them to bring us our drinks
which we never got refills for and the food was NASTY!
