Their burritos are the most horrible burrito I ever eaten. Breakfast, super no matter what kind I get its just awful no flavor at all. I’d rather go into food4less get a big package of frozen burritos and go home and Nike or bake them. I’ve been at this location many times during different hours, I drive by it on my way home from work from anywhere between 10pm and 8 am and I’ve been to it at lunch time… From now on tacos or quesadillas(chicken one! Carna Asada is always hard to eat because of the hard fat pieces)

The food is so good ! There is not much open 24 hours. I used to go to marias in modesto. This is way better. I like the burritos a lot. The best Mexican food is always in the ghetto I usually get dinner and a show here.

This place is good, but very inconsistent. One day you can order a breakfast burrito and it’s a legit size, the next day it looks like a Taco Bell burrito. On one occasion I ordered breakfast burritos for work and two of them had pieces of plastic from the tongs in them. When I returned them they neither apologized or offered to remake them.

I’ve really come to like this place! Enchiladas are bomb! They taste spicier on Wilson WY than on Hammer! It’s all good! Menudo real good too!

I TOOK A FEWSTARSAWAYBECAUSE… like people mentioned, as soon as I walked into the pace it felt like a sauna, I couldn’t believe that it was hotter inside than out and the door had been open. So I came here because it was closer than the other one on West Lane. I wanted to introduce the person I brought to the awesome breakfast burritos I just found out about. The place does have a odd odor. The plan was to eat out, but when we arrived, I was scared to park the car anywhere, the area looked that bad. Now maybe if they fixed there area up it would feel more welcoming. Then again, maybe they prefer people to use the drive through. It wasn’t my car so, they assured me it was fine to park and eat in. Compared to the one on Hammer/West Lane, this one has wonderful customer service, The guy was always smiling and friendly. Instead of calling out a number, he actually brought our food to us. It was very unexpected. Would not recommend there churros. I like mine with sugar and cinnamon, but this had on cinnamon and the sugar crystals were huge, I like them finely granulated(before they turn to powder and that they don’t have a crunch). The salsa here is awesome, for the day and time we went, I preferred their pico de gallo, it had more tomatoes unlike Hammer that seemed to be overwhelmed with onion(and I like onion). They have anther one that is like this, but a salsa and more green. It is my favorite. I am picky with what use for my chips, but even though it had more chili’s than tomatoes, you can’t tell. It’s perfect in flavor. Both places seem to taste the same to me. Now the salsa bar is like ½ the size, missing a few things and only one or two salsa’s. I ordered the same breakfast burrito as I got last time from Hammer Lane. I preferred the one at hammer lane. First off, I couldn’t tell the first time that the potatoes were fries. Whoever is cooking at this one needs to know to cook the fries crispy and to dice them up. This time it tastes like old soggy potatoes instead of crispy, crunchy ones. Sadly, I couldn’t enjoy a single bite, I forced myself to eat it. They did listen though about my bacon being extra crispy unlike Hammer. My favorite part about this place is you can grab your own chips and that means each of us can have our own instead of fighting over one plate. The plus side, their burritos are humongous. From what I remember and seen, this one had 6 agua frescas and Hammer only 3. Next time, I’ll stick to the drive through and specify how I want my burrito and it will be all good. Their tea and agua frescas aren’t freshly made. I Stuck to the water which didn’t have a awful taste.

I’ve had a few burritos which were very good but I mostly go to pick up some carne asada fries with bacon always really good and hits the spot. Inside is good as well I usually go after work that’s why I tend to use the drive thru instead of eating in.

I got the chicken burrito and it was literally the worst burrito of my life and I eat a lot of burritos :(it was literally just a bunch of gross chicken rolled up into a tortilla. Like only chicken… I was at least expecting some beans cheese and rice maybe some salsa but nope. It was just the chicken and the grease dripped out all over me and into my car :(I’m sad I wasted 6 $ on it I threw it away and starved on my way back to Modesto. The workers were nice though.

El Forastero on Wilson way in Stockton, California. Tip: Drive thru is open 24⁄7 and the dine closes at 10 p.m. Pro tip; Takes Atm/Credit Chubby tip: Has chips and salsa bar all you can eat for free. Well you have to buy something. I don’t think you can just walk in to get you chips & salsa on. Pimp Tip: Drunchies means munchies but you’re drunk. So Drunchies, get it? You know when we be sipping. The belly craves for food. Okay my little brother introduced me here a while back. This became our end of the night Drunchies spot. Inside it can get a bit hot, but they have a big fan to chill you out. Just like my last visit, but it was nice outside. So I decided to eat in the parking lot. The food is pretty good, it can add up really quick for the price. The service from the girls working here is top notch. Always smiling and super nice to me when I come in. I don’t get everything on the menu, pretty much the basics, tacos, burritos and nachos. But mainly burritos, they’re long duck dong. Plus they got hella juice. I love burritos that straight drip drop drip drop– all over the place. That’s why I post up mainly outside and eat. The Nachos are pretty good here and are packed pretty fat with meat. The tacos I only had once. I ordered the taco Sunday special. For $ 1.25 but they were fried. I really dont care for fried taco shells. But I’m not petty spaghetti taco eating loco. Knocking down a star because they were fried. It’s just my preference, you dig. Very date friendly here. You can get your S/O, Err-Thang on da menu. From tacos to tacos, make him/her smile. Sincerely VD

I love the breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, potatoes and cheese. So delicious! The closest thing I’ve had to the delicious breakfast tacos in Austin, Texas.

This one is even better than the one on Hammer, which is like literally my favorite place ever. We discovered it on Halloween, when we were lost trying to get to a party. Best thing ever. I don’t know what they do different, but whatever it is, it works.

this place is so good. I’ve tried the Forastero on hammer and West and they dont come close, the food here is much better. Its almost suprising they have the same name. The location isnt the best but the food is worth the drive.

Was just here ordering food in the morning. The food is always awesome and the customer service usually is but the woman at the register today for the drive thru was just rude. She barely let me get out my order and seemed like she had something better to do. Hopefully she is only there temporarily.

this review is ONLY about the girl at the front counter. first of all she didn’t greet us. she just walked up to the counter with a rude look on her face and never asked if we needed help or what she could get for us. needless to say we walked out and I took my business and money elsewhere. I feel sorry for her minimum wage making ass. she looked miserable. she should find a job somewhere else, possibly cleaning toilets, that way she doesn’t have to deal with people, cause her costumer service skills, suck. to the owner of El Froastero I suggest you hire someone else before you loose more business. by the way this happened today 7⁄17 so you know who you had working, it was about 4:30 when I was there. glad I left, I wasn’t there to ask for free food, I was gonna pay therefore I expect to at least be greeted and treated nicely. if you are expecting decent costumer service, you won’t find it here. thank you, that is all.

We’ve been eating at the Hammer Lane location for years. We stopped by the Wilson way location recently and wish we’d simply used the drive thru. The inside of the restaurant was hot with a television turned up so loud it made your head ring. There was a very unpleasant smell inside and the tables were dirty. The chairs and booths looked trashed. Ok ok. The food? I had the three rolled taco special… It was fine. My dining partner had two beef tacos. He said they were fine. The free chips and salsa were good. My iced tea tasted very watery. This place has decent food but needs a makeover inside. The two stars are for okay food… but until they add a/c inside and a decent dining space. stick to the drive-thru.

Great food, and the drive through is open 24 – 7! Love the chimichungas here. They are more like a wet burrito but they are my favorite!

I’m going to be nice here, because for being located off Wilson Way, this place makes some bomb food. I haven’t gained enough courage to go inside, just because when it used to be a KFC, my grandma’s car window was broken in that parking lot. So I always zip through the drive-thru. The staff have been nothing but nice to communicate with. I order my staple, Bean & Cheese burrito. It is huge and worth the money. My mom had a mini taco thinking it would fill her up. Nope, she wanted some of my burrito. The food is so good, I’m going to make this my new go to while in Stockton.

I’m not quite sure why, but I prefer this location over the one off Hammer & West. Consistently better quality, even though the location may not be ideal. Haven’t had anything I didn’t like here; everything from the super veggie burrito(a staple), to rolled tacos, carné asada nachos, or the ‘mexibowl’ are tasty and spot-on. Gotta love the churros(4FLAVORS!) & aguas frescas too; horchata, pina, jamaica, tamarinda, limonada… This is as close to LEGIT fast Mexican food as it comes(besides taco trucks) in Stockton. And whenever you’re hungry, they’re open(24 hour drive-thru).

Finally decided to come try out El Forastero’s new location here because it was closer to our house than the one on Hammer Lane. Looks like they took over an old KFC, and the décor inside looks just like it too. We had a coupon for a free drink so me and my friends decided to pay this location a visit even though it’s located in a sketchier area of town. It was completely empty inside and as we walked in the cashier looked all too happy to see us. He was extremely courteous and nice and the food came fast! This El Forastero is exactly the same as the other one standard with your free salsa and chips except I’d say that the salsa bar here is terrible. The other one at Hammer isn’t amazing, but it’s better than this location’s. Out of all the salsas I tried(about 4), I only found one that was even remotely decent. But other than that, El Forastero never seems to disappoint with their fast and deliciously greasy Mexican food! And don’t worry drunkies, this place has 24 hr drive through just like the other one :)
