Gian’s deli is a throwback too the neighborhood delicatessens of yesteryear. The place where they not only knew your name and order but your family and friends as well. Gian’s for me fulfills that sense of community, quality, and pride of service. I would not hesitate too say stop in any day of the week and let them slice you up some fresh cold cuts and make you a sandwich that will transport you back too a different time. My hat goes off too the owners for ensuring the same quality that their father provided for years. Keep up the great work and I look forward to my next visit and many more to come.

Please please please wash your hands when making sandwiches! The fact that you handle the money and make my sandwich without hand washing is just plain gross and unsanitary! Gian may he rest his soul would be disappointed.

I read the most recent review and was surprised to see a comment about the cleanliness. Maybe the deli saw the review and is more conscious now IDK, but when I went there u didn’t pay till you order was ready. At no time did they touch money and the food at the same time. OK that being said, we need to discuss the elephant in the room, «what makes this better then subway?» Right??? I know a lot of people buy into the cheapness of subway, and I have too, but when u factor in this is only a buck more then what u would pay at subway, hands down this is better. Why better? The meat is not cut till you order it and the meat is made fresh there. I always order pastrami and at this place it is so soft and fresh I didn’t know what I was missing with the pre cut version you get at subway. The bread is also fresh baked there and delicious. Only downside to the place is they don’t take debit or credit, so come with money. I ordered a sandwich, chips, and a drink for $ 8, subway would be $ 7, but the freshness and quality far out rank the pre-made cuts at subway.

I just had lunch here. The food is fresh and great, the service great given that people were lined up. I wish I had known about this place earlier. Everything I need for an Italian meal is there. The macaroni salad was good. I’m only sad that they didn’t have any ravioli. It just means I have to go back.

I love their sandwiches and their Ravioli’s might be the best in town! Their customer service is always outstanding!

I’ve been coming here since elementary school. Best sandwich spot in Stockton! Go with the coppa or prosciutto sandwich on focaccia(if you can get it before they sell out.) Love this place.

Sandwich was soggy. I had the $ 4.25 peppered turkey with Havarti. I ordered extra meat for $ 1. Should have been $ 5.25, right? NO, it wasn’t. They charge $ 1 for every extra vegetable. My sandwich ended up costing $ 7.25 and it was soggy. I was very disappointed.

I got the honey ham on French roll. Bread was super stale(last week stale). Very little meat. And they don’t take credit or debit cards so I had to walk 2 blocks to an ATM, by the time I got back I had little time to eat it.

Let me say that first off it was a little too warm in here, not so much that I had to walk out but when temps get higher this will not be the coolest place to grab lunch. That said, the food because that’s what I’m coming for. Ordered 3 sandwiches one ham with cheddar, one peppered turkey with provolone and last was salami with cheddar) all in focaccia bread. All 3 of us said the sandwiches were great, on the greasy side we noted but still great. I didn’t taste the ham(as I don’t like ham) but was told 2 thumbs up. The salami I did taste and I was skeptical as I favor Molinari salami sliced paper thin. Well I’m not sure what brand salami this was but it past my taste test. My daughter said it was great! On my peppered turkey with provolone was great as well. This is my second time here and I will be back. I must add that to add peppers and pickled red peppers is extra but so worth it, make sure you let them know as they won’t ask(didn’t ask me) I guess you just have to know? But if you’ve read this now you know ask for both peppers(red and wax). They also didn’t post what as far as I can remember what is available on the sandwich. It’s lettuce, tomato, & peppers. I didn’t see any onions but you can ask maybe they did have it. They had cheddar, provolone, and a few other cheese choices. Ham, honey ham, salami, hot salami, turkey, pepper turkey and a few other meats, all sliced right as you order. Loved that. There is also pizza bread(made on focaccia bread), chips, at least 20 drink maybe more drink choices(bottles & cans). As well as many Italian deli items.

Food used to be a lot better when the father ran it. I think its over priced for what you get. The vegi sandwiches are way to much for what you get. Food is OK. I’m from Los Angeles so to me it could be way better if you want to pay over 6 dollars a sandwich. The service also is OK. The attitude wasn’t that great and the price is always different when I go in. They need to get it together more. I don’t think I will be back.

A great Mom & Pop place. You want a savior sandwich, Mac salad or homemade pizza this is the place. I come here for lunch on Saturday’s they always have people coming in and out but it’s a quite little shop and the price is right here. They are always friendly and helpful. I usually get a spicy salami with pepper jack, pastrami with pepper jack both on focaccia, Mac salad to share and my husband gets a slice of pizza for a appetizer lol :) I’ve had the roast beef it’s excellent too. Make sure to bring cash…

Great little lunch spot off the Miracle Mile — don’t blink, or you’ll miss it(right behind the Yoga Center across the street from La Palma). I pretty much always get the sandwiches on focaccia bread, although I’d like to get around to trying more. I always see other customers buying gnocchi & raviolis. Nice variety of cheeses & meats, plus they carry a good selection of cold beverages, chips, cookies, candies & more. The Italian groceries are a nice feature, & looks like they have seasonal items too. Just make sure you bring cash; if not, there’s a Wells Fargo ATM just down the street. Definitely try this spot; it reminds me of Butcher Shop in Lodi, but way more low-key in a good way. The staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful. Would recommend for a quick grab+go spot or eat-in.

Strolled into Gian’s today for lunch. I ordered the peppered turkey, honey ham & pepper jack cheese on french bread with the works. They didn’t have red onion, which I thought was weird for a sandwich shop, but they added Bruno wax peppers inside the sand that I kinda liked. They sliced the meat right in front of you and had a pretty tasty potato and macaroni salad for sides. Had the jalepeno kettle corn chips too for some crunch! I heard their ravioli was good but unfortunately it wasn’t available until Wed. It’s tucked away behind the old See’s Candy on the Miracle Mile and had excellent customer service. The décor includes local sport team jerseys, like three or four square tables, and shelves of Italian pastas, condiments, and olive oils for sale. Definitely better than Subway across the street. I think I’ll go back to try the ravs since I’m quite the ravioli fiend!

Stopped by around 2:30 on a Thursday, the place was empty and we got greeted right away. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and we talked about the LOTR series as I was about to go see the latest hobbit movie. I always get the same sandwich every time I come salami and teleme cheese smothered in mayo and mustard mmm mmm The best bread to have it on is focaccia but if you want focaccia you have to beat the lunch rush, today I had it on a ciabatta roll from Genovas a local bakery in Stockton. It tasted amazing, try the potato and macaroni salad I’m a fan of both. And don’t be afraid to try an Italian soda I like kiwi ^_^ please remember that this place is *CASHONLY*

This place is amazing. The sandwich meat is so delicious. I get the peppered turkey with provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, and peppers and it’s amazing. The focaccia bread is fresh and delicious. The meat is sliced perfectly in front of you. The quality of the meats and cheeses are great. I recently had the pasta salad. It was so good. Perfect pasta salad!!! Sandwiches are wonderful and reasonably priced. It definitely is busy during lunch time. They also only take cash. This deli also has several Italian grocery items and you can get frozen raviolis, pasta, and sauces. This is a great family owned local business. If you find yourself on the miracle mile, it’s a must go to place

Walking into the deli I was instantly impressed just by the smell. It was amazing. I had some of the hand made ravioli and a pastrami with peppers on a roll. The ravioli was perfect. It is bite size and just melts in your mouth. The sandwich was just the right size and had the wonderful crunch on the outside. I would recommend this place to any one looking for some good Italian deli food. Next time I’m in stockton I will most definitely return.

Gian’s Delicatessen on Pacific Ave in Stockton, California. My little brother told me about this place awhile back. He told me «The sandwiches are Hella good and I should Unilocal it». So after a day of running errands it was time for me to have a sandwich. So I chose to come here and see what’s what. I was looking at the menu and asking one of the helpers behind the deli for assistance. Because I didn’t know the menu that well and a few of the meats I never heard of before. So I ended up ordering a peppered turkey sandwich on focaccia bread with mayonnaise, mustard, pepper jack cheese. Man oh man the Focaccia bread is 5 stars by itself. It was warm and so freaking good. I was savoring each bite as I was sitting outside. My inner PHATBOI was telling me to order one more to go. But I walked away, using sure willpower. I need to comeback and check out their other stuff they sell. I saw some macaroni salad that I’ll be getting next. Lil bro wasn’t lying to kick it. The sandwiches here are on hit. So yeah I’ll be back to explore and eat outside. Vincent D *VD* Enjoying the simple things in life.

This place was okay. The potato salad was pretty good, I would choose that over the sandwich I had. I ordered the prosciutto on focaccia bread. Overall, the sandwich was pretty salty(I know prosciutto already has a salty flavor, but it seemed even more salty than usual). The focaccia seemed a bit more oily than the usual focaccia bread. I had lettuce and mustard in the sandwich as well. The potato salad had good flavor and tasted better than the typical potato salad in the grocery store. I was a bit turned off also, because the person that made my sandwich also handled the cash and coins I gave them. They didn’t wash their hands after the money and immediately made my sandwich. It was a bit gross to me, but maybe it’s normal for them. Overall, just okay.

Gian’s never disappoints and is one of the few places I go to pay for a sandwich. Pepper turkey and provolone on focaccia with the fiiiixins is my go-to sandwich. The next time you’re on the miracle mile thinking of getting Subway, do yourself a favor and just go up one block for a sandwich worth your money!
