Gina’s Cafe

These women were so kind! They were helpful, enthusiastic and the food was delicious! Call ahead because cooking takes a minute (hard when heading to the mountains on an early morning). We will definitely be back.

Walked in on a Wednesday morning around 9am and sat in a booth. After ten minutes of waiting for anyone to acknowledge my presence I left. I wasn’t alone in this regard as I heard several customers complaining as I was walking out. There were two employees– one cook and a server/​cashier/​everything else. This place is clearly not equipped to handle more than a few customers at a time.

Hmm was not impressed with the food here is why:
Cons: 1. Is kind of on the expensive side for 2 turkey omelettes, a lemonade and a latte the total came out to $ 28.99 yikes :(
2. The omelette was not tasty at all it was burned and it was hard to tell what was in it, it was supposed to be turkey, but really I couldn’t tell what I was eating, also the hash browns that came with the meal where SUPER GREASY, AND RAW BLAH.
3. THE WAIT TIME IS RIDICULOUS :) we waited like almost 30min for our food, and the bad part was that it wasn’t even worth the wait blah.

Pros: The girl that took our order was kind of nice :) so the customer service get 4 out of 5, and that’s where it ends Unilocalers, this place is definitely not worth a try, WON’T BE COMING BACK AGAIN.

Gina’s is our favorite breakfast place in Stockton. We live less than two blocks from two decent/​good breakfast places but get in the car to go to Gina’s. We strongly prefer to walk whenever possible, but we are compelled by Gina’s because the food is excellent and consistent, the employees are very nice, they have a good selection of quality coffee, and we always come away satisfied.
Yeah, the location is isn’t a draw. Yeah, the décor is just okay. Yeah, the business is split between a café and a pizza place. BUT, there is plenty of parking, the décor has a lot of utility, they keep things clean, the tables and benches are very comfortable, and it seems pretty smart to have complimentary restaurants in the same space.
We come for the food, especially because Gina’s makes simple things much better than even an excellent cook can at home. The breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, french toast, hash brown, etc. are all outstanding.
Further, Gina’s employees do a number of little things that make us feel good about the experience like: remembering our ‘usual’ even though we only come in once every few weeks, enthusiastically customizing our order so we get exactly what we want, always being attentive to how we are doing, and being realistic about wait times when they get busy.
Portions are also normal and the prices are very good. So we have NEVER left and said: ‘I can’t believe I ate all that, I feel gross’ or ‘how much was your meal, that was pretty expensive’.

I can’t eat pastries BUT I’m always staring at theirs!!! I’ve commented before that their baker does AMAZING work… as a former pastry connoisseur I don’t need to taste them to know they’re amazing… lol. I’ve eaten their omelets though and those were great, coffee’s delicious too and they have completely reasonable prices! :)

I just moved into this neighborhood and stopped in one day to get something warm to drink, I walked inside & it was pretty dead about 3:30 in the afternoon. I looked around and was just shocked on how quiet it was, considering michaels pizza is in the same restaurant as the coffee shop. I wasn’t sure what to get so I hesitated at the counter, the nice lady that helped me greeted me and asked if I was ready, I told her no since I was struggling to find my favorite drink on their menu –I usually get from Starbucks, so I asked her if she can make something hot with caramel, without a pause said said they have caramel macchiato that’s pretty good and My eyes light up, I don’t even know why I got so excited. Lol I got a 20 oz hot caramel macchiato with xtra caramel sauce on Wednesday ¹¹⁄₂₆ and since then I have gotten 3 more caramel macchiato. The price is $ 5.28. A lil pricer than sbux by .33 cents but all my 4 drinks have been consistent in taste, I am proud to say that I have been cheating on Starbucks because Gina’s café coffee is amazing!

Support local business is my motto! Anyone that has worked in the service industry knows sometimes you just run out of product. The young lady who works in the café named Sarah is the ONLY reason my husband and I give this location our business. We enjoy the homemade goodies, sandwiches on croissants, and let’s not forget about the delicious Coffee! The staff on the Café side are always pleasant and attentive.

Our company buys breakfast for the employees every Friday. The person bringing it in cancelled last minute so I was in a bind. I called at 6 am and Gina’s was able to make breakfast pizza for 27 people by 7:30 that morning.
The food was great and the service was excellent. Unfortunately for stockton good service is an unusual occurrence.
I would recommend Gina’s any time.

This place totally just messed up my order. Took a half hour to get our food. They ran out of hash browns and didn’t put any veggies in my omelette. I will never come back.

We went to this café on Saturday at 10:00 am. It was not busy. We like to support local neighborhood business. We have supported Michaels Piizza for over 20 years.
We wil not be returning for their breakfast service. The waitress is lovely. The cook had sweat running off his head. Gross!
The girl did not bring our beverages until our food arrived. which was about 25 to 30 minutes.
My egg was totally running. the egg white was like snot. The biscuit & gravy. the gravy was cold. My husband’s hamburger pattie was completely blackened. The waitress finally returned with my biscuit & gravy probably another 10 to 15 minutes.
It appeared the owner blew in for a few minutes during this time and left. By this time there were several little league families now.
Poor service, poor management.
It appears this café does not have a clear direction of what the are trying to be… coffee, ice cream/​cookies, breakfast, sanwdwich sho, etc.

We just left this place and had a terrible experience. Our «waitress» takes us to the farthest table she could find, (in the connected pizza parlor to be exact. That was closed and empty) hands us 2 menus then tells us to order at the counter. First red flag. Why could she not come back to take our order? Once I place our order for breakfast with an orange juice and a water I go back to the table and the wait starts. We waited over 30 minutes and the «waitress» finally brings us our drinks. The orange juice was warm in the bottle, no glass no ice. I ask how much longer the food will be and she rudely says «it will be out soon. All of our food is cooked to order so it takes a minute». More like 30 mintes+. After hearing this and waiting a few more minutes I decide enough is enough, there was only 1 other table of patrons and taking way too long. I ask they make our food to go. Now it’s no big secret as to why we recieved such bad service. Get a look at the other people who gave high reviews. We are learning how to choose places to eat where we will have better experiences. And we will be spending our money elsewhere. Places where they appriciate the business and don’t judge or stereotype their customers. It’s really sad for all the ignorant people who still want to perpetuate a gone and dead belief.

Went in today for breakfast @ 11am. 5 of us. They were out of bisquits & gravy, really now. Out of country potatoes, wow. It took forever to get our order. It seems they employ a lot of inexperienced people who don’t know what they are doing or how to do it. We noticed other patrons wondefring what happened to their food as well.
Thsi place is connected to Michaels pizza, same dining area and all. Gins’a has its own grill while the pizza place has its own ovens etc.
The place needs a thourough cleaning inside and out. It is really pretty discusting.
Have eaten there several times, but I am sure to say will not be coming back.
Gina needs to get a handle on things and get them corrected.

This place is small and connected to a pizza joint but the food and coffee is great. Take a seat in a booth and grab a menu. I had the ham & cheese scramble with onions. It also came with hash brown potatoes. The portions were perfect and it was not too greasy! Yum! The coffee is «grab your own» at the counter and for refills. I had the Italian roast. It was strong, just the way I liked it. My server, Vanesza, was nice. She was serving and taking orders alone and keeping up. Pay at counter. Parking out front off the street. Not too bad of a neighborhood. I’ll be back! Prices are great too! Under $ 9 for mine!

Great breakfast. The full bacon and eggs breakfast is a treat! Bacon is thick and meaty. My son even said the is the best! Sienna is a one if the friendliest servers I have met recently. Nice and quiet atmosphere on a cold Sunday morning

We went back to Gina’s and ordered the same burger and french dips and they were definitely much better! They were flavorful and toasted this time and my son’s burger was made perfectly. I’m glad we went back and we will definitely continue to go back as long as we don’t have another experience like the last time.

OMG driving through Stockton wanted a good breakfast lunch for the family. This place is awesome! Scrambles were great! They’ll customize to whatever you want! Sianna was the best waitress I have had in years. She was very informative and passionate about her job. We will definitely visit again!

Yesterday, I went out lookin’ for Rugelach, a Jewish Breakfast item (What is it?
). Tried House of Shaw (
) first… but when I found out that they did not take ATM or Credit Cards… keep on lookin’.
Stopped here at Gina’s Café… they don’t carry Rugelach… But I did have…
Hot Tea (*** ½) Unlimited refills of Hot Water… so long as the Tea Bag lasts… tried Lemon Zest yesterday…

) A Very Good Cheeseburger! A 1/​3lb Hamburger with everything — minus the Pickles. Accompanied by four huge and thick slices of Bacon which was fried just short of crispy… which is the way I like it! Everything is: Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Mustard & Mayo.
Wedge Fries (**** ½) were also excellent…
On my next visit… how much to make it a 1 Pounder?

UPDATE: Gina’s stopped carrying lox on a regular basis :-(
I suppose if you went out to breakfast every day, you might be lucky to catch it as a special — but I’ve called on numerous AM’s only to be told: No Lox Today!

The weekend cooks have improved and are very good although still a notch below the weekday cooks.
There are breakfast regulars who order up things like the Volcano, a biscuit and gravy dish with eggs and meat and hash browns.
All in all a great place to have breakfast or lunch.

I am guessing this company is part of Michael“s New York style pizza although it has it’s own entrance.
Gina’s is definitely a wonderful place to grab breakfast or a cup of excellent coffee. There is a great selection of breakfast items and about 8 to 10 carafes of ready to drink coffee on hand.
I didn’t have time to eat breakfast today but I did see and was able to smell the wonderful aroma of one of their freshly prepared breakfast plates.
I know I will be back.
