Mamas and the Tapas

Thanks a soooo much for catering my husbands surprise birthday party! Your Puerto Rican, Jamaican, Cuban food fusion is the best I’ve ever had!
I ordered…
Antipasto platter, which had assorted cheeses, black and green olives, mushrooms, grape tomatoes, asparagus and some assorted deli meats. Great variety on this platter.
Party platter, had 65 pieces. Half of the tray was beef empanadas and half chicken flautas. (You get your choice of beef or pork empanadas) (Empanadas are half the size of a full size empanada)
I ordered 15 full size beef empanadas and 15 chicken flautas.
I ordered ½ tray of Puerto Rican rice.
I had 20 people here for this party and there was more then enough food for everyone!
I will definitely be using their catering services again. I will also be supporting them when they are out on the road in their food truck!

We had Christine and her delicious food truck at our house last night for a private event. She showed up early and stayed late. Cooked great food with a smile the whole time. My 150+ guests had nothing but great things to say about the food and her customer service. I will hire her again!!!

Although Mamas and the Tapas is located out of Stockton they do make it into Mountain House and Tracy occasionally which makes a great change to the usual chain restaurants we have out here. I recently got to try some of the menu at our local Food Truck meet and already a fan.

) — $ 9. Came with 1 Cannon Ball, Jerk Chicken Taco, Rice & Breans and shredded Vegetables (dry Slaw?). I loved the Cannon Ball which is their version of a Yucca Ball filled with Beef and Chorizo. So good! The Taco was also packed with flavor and really enjoyed the Mango Salsa, Mango is always a winner with me. The Rice was ok, I had one lonely piece of sausage in so I’m not sure if it was intended to be or not? More is definitely needed if it was and I was a little upset that I didn’t get the sauce on my Cannon Ball as shown in the other Unilocal pictures but otherwise a great meal.
Looking forward to many more visits as not only is the food tasty but also prepared fresh to order and relatively healthy. Going to try the Pulled Pork Sliders and Empanadas next time!

I would love to know where we could again find this truck, website is not helpful and messages not returned. Food is great, but marketing is poor. :(

Loved it! Brandon got a pulled pork sandwich from this truck and it was awesome! Moist, flavorful and it came with plantain chips! Really good, I wish I had picked Mama and the Tapas instead of another food truck!
I will definitely be back to try some of their goodies! They were really friendly, had great food and a cool looking truck!

The empanadas were good. But one of the ones I got was cold. They also give out samples for people to try. I wish they had the jerk tacos on the menu but they didnt today. Overall, I would give them another try.

I was looking for something to eat while at Manteca Farmers Market and saw the Mamas and the Tapas food truck. I looked at the menu which wasn’t a lot so I opted for something familiar… with chicken! I ordered Flautas for $ 5 and it was delicious! I loved the tasty salad that came with the order which had a tangy flavor to it. I hope I run into their food truck again soon:) I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. lol

I am a huge foodie. The Mamas and the Tapas by far is one of my favorite food trucks, if not my favorite overall. The Mamas are very friendly and always serve with a smile. They are decently priced for the food they put out.
As far as the food goes, I have had the Porky, Empanadas, Flautas, and Jerk tacos. Everything has been delicious, and they have never let me down. Everything has great flavor and is well seasoned. They focus on great presentation as well. If you want a taste of what they serve, I suggest getting the combo platter.
Overall, I say this is a must go to food truck if they are in your area! Hurry before they run out for the day.

What can I say I’m a super fan of yet another fabulous food find here in the San Joaquin Valley. Seafood, fries, empanadas and the bread pudding (and I’m not a dessert fan) they are always coming up with new tasty dishes. Look for them locally and at street events

I was taking a lunch break walk along the Waterfront downtown, when I came upon this truck parked on Weber Avenue at the time. The truck looked especially clean with very nicely displayed chalkboard menus making the featured dishes sound especially good. I ordered the flautas and they were delicious. They were placed on a bed of lettuce with a delicious and somewhat tangy dressing. Overall, great food and very friendly proprietors, too.

The food is delicious and so flavorful! Ashley and Christine are very personable and cook excellent food! You really can’t go wrong with the combo plate… a little sample of most of the items on the menu. The rice and beans are the best! I’m pretty sure I’ve never had Carribean food before, but I’m definately in love with Mamas and the Tapas! Can’t wait to have some more!

After hearing about Mama and the Tapas, my Mom and I had to check i out. I had the jerkn salad it was fresh with a kick of spicy and the chicken was tender (my mouth is watering)! My Mom had the flautas and they were delicious! Can’t wait to try more things… YUMMY!

This food was soo yummy !! My boss had them come out to our office for lunch we had a variety of things and everything was great my favorite was the sample platter! Thanks Christine and Ashley:)

I love Mamas and the Tapas!!! Delicious food served with a friendly attitude. Christine and Ashley definitely know what they are doing! I couldn’t decide what to order, so I got the combo platter. Yum! It was the best decision. I can’t wait to stop by the food truck again and try some other delicious items :)

Think I’m in love! Honestly I don’t know if I’ve EVER eaten Caribbean food before, but this place is sure a good first impression. Everything on the menu sounded good, so I opted for the combo platter: flautas, empanada w/​delicious sauce, and rice & beans! Couldn’t even finish, got full before I wanted to stop eating. Portions seem generous, and you can tell lots of love goes into the food these ladies cook up. Thank you Christine & Ashley :) ill be back with my appetite!
