Do not confuse this with the Manny’s on Pacific Ave. It is in no way the same. The prices here are cheaper but the food was not very good. I went during lunchtime and I thought it was closed because no one was there and all of the lights were off. I was disappointed in the cheeseburger, it was so generic. I would never go back.

Family owned and the best damn broasted chicken I ever had!!! My co worker Pretty Ricky(Tecson) turned me on to this place years ago and now seeing it on Unilocal I felt compelled to give a review. ALLTHEFOODISGOOD !!! Just recently purchased the 30 pieces of broasted chicken for employee xmas party and everyone loved it!!! BAM!

The chicken was fantastic — really crispy. I stopped here because there was so much traffic on Highway 5, I took the eight street exit to El Dorado. And here was Manny’s Drive in. Excellent service, Kelly is very nice and friendly. Great personality. It gets 5 stars just because of her service. But the chicken is great and I had their special milkshake of the day, Cinnamon Crunch. Really awesome.

I’ve had the fried chicken combo and also the old timer and regular cheeseburger meal. All of it was pretty good. I prefer the regular burger because I’m not a fan of sourdough, but many like it. The fries are good and the sauce is good. I don’t think that anything was great but I will definitely continue going.

I’ve been here a couple of times and the food was okay, my only problem with this place is the guy taking the orders. He’s rude and constantly messes up my order and even if i try to tell him it’s wrong he says otherwise. I’ll be back though.

2 words Manny Burger… One of the best burgers I’ve had and very filling. It’s made fresh and put together well what more can you ask for. I usually go for the chicken but I wanted a burger and Manny’s does not disappoint.

Not much to review other than the food here sucks! The potatoes are bland and have no flavor. Raleys fried chicken is so much better. When we ordered from work, they fried someones sandwich after asking for grilled, and left a bone in the sandwich after she asked for no bones! lol… I don’t know why everyone in Stockton loves this place???

Back in the day this place was the best. It was down the street from my high school and close to home. I havent been there in a while but I love this place. You cant find too many old fashion burgers joints so Im glad its still around. This place is located in the more poor side of Stockton but dont let that intimidate you. The burgers are nice and juicy and the«manny sauce» sure does justice. The chicken nuggets are pretty good too. Theyre chicken is extra crsipy and not too greasy. My favorite item are the french fries. Theyre crinkle cut(which are rare nowadays) and lightly salted. I also love theyre ice cream cones and such. Prices are not the bad and for the most part its pretty clean. Definitly better then Mannys California Fresh. A must try in my book!

That guy who stands in the middle of the counter is the rudest dumb fucking person I ever met. I told him what my order is and he still fucked it up. Then when you call him on it he tries’s to argue. He ruins that dam place!!! I will not return till he is gone and I will pass this message on to all my friends.

*****Quick Review****** Solid 3 ½ star joint. A neighborhood burger stand with quality food, great prices, and great customer service. ************************** The OG Manny’s on southside has withstood the test of time. Quite an impressive feat when you realize it’s located in the furthest reaches of El Dorado St.(a few blocks past Edison high in ‘Mad Max’ territory). You can literally blink and miss this place, so just look for a weathered building on the corner(which actually looks like the Manny’s California Fresh building after an intensive chemotherapy treatment). First off, don’t come here expecting Manny’s California Fresh. While you will get a sense of déjà vu when looking at the menu, the food is a lot simpler than California Fresh, but still very tasty. They built a good menu and stuck with it, so you can’t fault them for that. What I did like is that they have«basket combos’. Burger, fries, and a drink for $ 5. A very good deal in times like this, especially for the quality you’re given. I’d take a Manny burger over a McGangbang any day of the week(although my arteries will hate me either way). Finally, the customer service is great. Unlike another southside establishment(cough – KOSMO’s — cough), you’re greeted with a warm smile and friendly attititude by the counter staff. They will engage in small talk and seem to be on a first name basis with all the locals and regulars that walked in the door. Overall, if you find yourself on Charter Way(or MLK for the politically correct) craving a good burger, Manny’s is worth the visit.

It was quite an adventure to come and find this place. This is my first time going so far south in Stockton. A little scary but at least it was day time and at least I had company to(hopefully) protect me if anything were to go wrong. Anyways, I’ve had the Manny’s California Fresh chicken sandwich and loved it so I knew I had to come here and try the original. I have to say, I had really high expectations for this sandwich. Though it was delicious, I definitely enjoy California fresh better. The bread was yummy. It was buttered down and toasted and added nicely to the sandwich. The chicken was a little dry and there was not enough mayo to offset the dryness. The chicken also wasn’t as crispy as I would have liked. While the workers were super friendly and the restaurant was cleaner than California Fresh, I probably would not return when the yummier breast of chicken sandwich is just 5 minutes away from me and in a more pleasant location. I actually ate the whole sandwich from Manny’s Drive In and then proceeded to California Fresh to order another chicken sandwich for comparison. Sorry, but California Fresh wins.

This place has the BEST chicken in Stockton. Period! It’s broasted… the ORIGINAL Manny’s recipe.
Better than Manny’s California Fresh. Better than Country Boy’s. Better than KFC. Better than Popeye’s. Better than Church’s. And the yummy broasted potato wedges… Portuguese beans, the buttery garlic bread! Just the BEST! Try it! P/S. Say ‘hi’ to Kelly, the very friendly manager.

The burger to try here is THEORIGINALMANNYBURGER! This is the one with 2 burger patties on a regular hamburger bun. Their Special Sauce, however is not Thousand Island(which has pickle relish in it) but a basic Mayo/Catsup Mixture that was common for the old local drive ins of the past. This is the only drive in in the South Stockton area worth eating at!

I grew up next to this spot. In addition to the dope ass burgers, sandwiches, and fried chicken you could cop here, you gotta make sure you try the shakes. After School while attending Edison High, I would hit up this spot with my boy Poncho and get a pineapple shake. The other fruit shakes are bomb as well

I was with my buddy and his brother-in-law and they were tasked with feeding my ungodly appetite. Manny’s is the place for hard-core, greasy, all-american styled eating and prices like we were back in 19… okay, well 1990s! Fat fucks that we are, we downed some serious shit. After fighting for the bill, we decided to let the brother-in-law pay. Great choice! Loved the grub. Your toilet may not have ever forgiven me, but I thank you repeatedly!

Let’s turn the clock back a few years or so… maybe quite a few years… My first house was on Pershing Avenue between Thornton Road and Hammer Lane. There was a Manny’s(before they went fresh) on the intersection of Hammer Lane and Thornton Road… now a Da Vinci’s Deli. My family and I used to frequent that place quite a bit. I ALWAYS ordered their Old Timer — a rectangular slab of Ground Beef inside a grilled and buttered French Roll with a lot of Onions — Ohhh! Was that good! On my bike ride today, I decided to stop at, what looked like, Manny’s original location… due to it’s decrepit and unkempt condition. It’s clean… but it just needs a coat of paint on the outside surfaces and a few nails here and there wouldn’t hurt either. On the menu today… Old Timer(*** $ 3.99) — ¼ lb(circular) Meat Patty on a San Francisco Sour Dough Roll with Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickle, and Special Sauce(which looked suspiciously like Thousand Island Salad Dressing). I can understand using the Sour Dough roll… but the roll was HARDAS A ROCK! And the Thousand Island Dressing just ruined it! Now, there might be some people that likes this«Special Sauce». I guess the Old Timer, in it’s present state, could stand on it’s own merits… but not if you knew the«old» Manny’s Old Timer, though. Manny Dog(**** $ 3.89) A six-inch long Dog sliced length-wise inserted in an oversized Hot Dog Bun with Diced Red Onions, Diced Tomatoes, Sliced whole Dill Pickles, with a lot of Mustard and the«Special Sauce» mentioned above. Now… I didn’t mind the Special Sauce on the Manny Dog because of all the strong flavors already in the Hot Dog. This Hot Dog conglomeration is one messy experience… stuff flying out of the Hot Dog, dropping on myself, the floor, the Special Sauce oozing out of the Hot Dog on my hands, my slacks, the table, the chair. Pretty Good! Remember Dok Shoon’s on Pacific Avenue near UOP… the Manny Dog reminded me of that Hot Dog place way back when… Strawberry MilkShake(** ½ $ 3.19) Too, too sweet! Sweet, tasted like Manny’s used imitation this and that in this concoction. French Fries(**** $ 1.69) Around twenty Steak-Cut sized Fries. The counter-person was friendly, and very accommodating when I asked for cups of Ice Water. I’m not going to totally throw Manny’s under the bus… but I expected a little bit more… I guess you really can’t turn back father time. The menu might be the same with Broasted Chicken, the Old Timer, etc… But, I guess that saying is correct… You really can’t go back home again!
