Mark does an amazing job doing technical stuff on guitar and basses. He put an active pick up in my Ibanez 7 string for a great price. Awesome work.

After talking to Tim on the phone, I drove down from Sacramento with some guitars and amps that I wanted to sell. After looking them over we could only agree on two of the amps, but two is better than none, right? I feel that Tim was being fair and wasn’t trying to jack me around like some other music stores. Even though we didn’t agree on everything, I am happy and will return. Highly recommended.

Went here to ask if they offered military discounts on any of their amps and the guy at the front replied, «No way you think your special?» A simple«no» would have sufficed. They had some pretty cool amps but they definitely need to brush up on their customer service.

By the way I’d like to add Mark is a bass guitar guru and Steve is always helpful and happy to let you test out equipment before you buy it. I really can’t emphasize how much of a good thing these guys have going.

I initially spoke to Tim on the phone and he was very nice and kind and patient as I asked questions and he gave me a lot of info on the price he’d pay me for the bass I would take in. He told me as much as he could with the bass being sight unseen. So I drove down from Sacramento and saw Tim and he was very nice and gave me a fair price for my bass. No complaints they’ve got a customer. Will be back to buy a bass from them also.

I have been dealing with Music Go Round for years. Tim is the Manager, and does the purchasing. He is very knowledgable in all areas and I would consider him to be extremely knowledgable in sound equipment and Keyboards. The prices he offers customers for their used gear is very fair. The difference in what you paid new and what your instrument is worth used may seem lopsided, but Tim will give you as good a deal as you can get. I’ve read the two previous reviews and found them very unfair. Because you are on the phone and cannot see what the person you are talking with is dealing with at the the store you could be totally misjudging the situation. Often they are swamped with customers in the store and answer the phone, not being rude but under pressure. With all of the insulting language I would say Me M didn’t see the rude, arrogant asshole in the mirror. Kenneth R. stated he would not. call the tech a Luthier, which would be correct. a tech sets up and repairs instruments, A luthier builds guitars, and makes major repairs a tech may not be qualified to make. I personally have found the techs there to be good at what they do. These are all musicians and test their work before calling the customer back in. And like I said a luthier is a builder and understands what can be done according to the skill level of the repairman. I personally watched these young men set up very valuable vintage guitars and make them play like butter. Kenneth also said«do not take your instruments there for work» If he is knowledgable enough to make that statement he should have been able to set it up himself, otherwise he is just ignorant and highly opinionated in a field he knows nothing about. The techs there do know what they are doing and are not willing to do a modification that could trash your instrument that you hold so dear. I would back up Bill Stevens at the Music Box or Ron(Mr. C) at Mr. C’s Music as much if not more. One of the techs at Music Go Round is a proud owner of a Gibson SG himself and a very good player. Mark and Dave are both very talented guitarists, and I have found most of the guitars set up really nice for the average player. I have done a lot of Business there. I go back often to see what has come in because they have a good reputation for quality.

Love this store. Positively the best music store around for gently used and new instruments. The gentleman are very friendly who work here, they are able to answer all your music questions etc. I bought my son his first used electric guitar from here for Christmas and its fabulous! They threw in a guitar bag and some picks :) This is the only store we will be shopping at for all our musical instrument needs! I highly recommend Music Go Round

Every instrument I own was bought from here so that tells you something, everything from my strat to my 96 jaguar. the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. unlike other music stores in the area where it feels like if you pick up a guitar there already staring at you like you stole it. the manager there is always helpful, and the guitar techs know there stuff, but there’s a couple guys there that treat you a bit rude… but like I said alot better than other places in the area. Thanks music go round for being my favorite music store around here.

A small friendly shop. It is the best I have come across in stockton with an actual ranged selection of instruments. In stockton you will be hard pressed to find a shop with«everything» as most of the shops are so guitar centric. if you play anything else you are out of luck. I have scored some deals and found some otherwise hard to come by items from music go round that the others just don’t provide. If you want to look at something more then just a guitar check this shop out. You might be able to find that old synth/keyboard you are always looking for and or a quality mixer, drum machine or sampler. Even if you just want a guitar you can find some quality vintage gear that the other shops don’t have. Keep your eyes open as items come and go frequently in various conditions. With some patients you are bound to find something for you. If you are ever in need for quick cash this is not a bad way to go about things too. The staff will take care of you and you will be walking out that door with a check before you know it. I have been a long time customer and have had many experiences in different instrument shops(seriously over 10 years now). Even though I have moved out of stockton I still find myself missing this place for the staff and careful selection of items carried. Any time i am in town I make a stop in to Music Go Round. I might not always walk out with something but I am always happy that checked in.

Had a positive experience helping someone buy a used guitar at this store. Prices are negotiable. They were helpful, friendly, and fast. The person who bought it is very happy with the purchase, items it came with, and price.

Walked in and noticed the atmosphere was very relaxed. They were playing Pink Floyd on their stereo and did not jump up to help me, but after a couple of minutes someone asked me how I was doing. I asked if I could check a couple of guitars to make sure they work. The guy went and got a cable, plugged in an amp for me and let me play whatever they had on their wall, then he gave me a great deal that I couldn’t refuse on a used guitar. Got the guitar home and it still works very good as expected from a used guitar. Their selection is the best I’ve seen in Stockton. There was a lot there I would have been very happy with and that means a lot considering the gear I’ve had in the past.

Came in today to get my guitar restrung, mind you I brought in my mothers guitar from the 70s and it looked like it. Trust me! Aaron was happy to assist. While working, some pegs broke and decided they didnt want to come out, which is understandable. He was very knowledgeable and knew what to do in order to remove the pegs, replace them, and restring my guitar in a matter of minutes. Even shined it up for me too! Although it was rather busy, he was very attentive to myself and other customers as they came, and remained positive throughout the visit. One thing I cant forget to mention is, CALLBEFORECOMING! Anyone who has ever been in this store will tell you, it is a rather small store. There may be ATMOST three people working on instruments and tending to customers. DONTRUSHIFYOURE A WALKIN! I have been in here plenty of times and have seen many a rude person come and go. These are hard working people who know a lot of tricks of the trade. Aside from that, much thanks to Aaron and the entire Music Go Round Team. I appreciate your great customer service and will return soon.

As you step through the door, you can usually hear several different local musicians showing off their latest riffs. This is by far the cooest place in town to check out gear and get the low down on the local music scene.

I went in to have the tech(would not call him a luthier) set up a Gibson SG standard. The action on it was high for my taste. The guy was clueless. He said«thats as good a it gets, you really don’t want it lower than that». I couldn’t believe it. I told him my cheap Ibanez SG copy has better action. I ended up taking it, as well as another guitar to sacramento, to a guy named Woody Boyd. Amazing to see a true pro like woody work, as well as explain the whole process while he works. End result, the Gibson setup met or exceeded my expectations. Don’t take your instruments there for work. They do not know what they are doing.
