Love this place! Imported Italian food items! Delicious bakery items! Yummy sandwiches! Fantastic customer service! The extra bonus is that they keep the store in tip-top shape! I always stop by here when I’m in town visiting my family!

This place is clean and awesome. Kind of pricey I think but a lot of selections for meat and seafood. I usually shop at Safeway or Raleys but when it comes to availability, this place has it. I have yet to try their sandwhiches and I can’t wait to go back! Oh and their bakery section too!

This store has some good quality products however it’s the highest priced grocery store in town with the very lowest level of customer service that can be achieved Employees give no consideration to customers at all Safeway is just across the street and a very good alternative

Decided to get a tri tip sandwich from the BBQ they have set up outside of the store. Never again. 3 small slices of meat and a French roll. Mayo and mustard provided in little packages. That is all… no lettuce, tomato, onion, nothing else. $ 7.00. They had the meat in foil and the guy got the roll with his bare hands put both in a bag and handed it to me. I could have gotten a delicious tri tip sandwich at Marina Market for less and not have to put it together myself.

Bad taste left in my mouth from the customer service here. I normally come here with my kids and enjoy the environment, but I can’t stand poor customer service striking yet again. Almost a month ago we were double charged for our grocery transaction and we called in to get reimbursed for the error. My wife spoke with a Podesto’s accountant named Terry. From there it’s been downhill. She keeps telling us to call back or wait 48 hours for the situation to be handled but it never gets handled.(Coming up on a month later) Today we finally gave up and are facing the fact that the rich stay rich from moves like this. Their mistake, but they can’t reimburse us. So thank you Terry for saving Podesto’s a drop in their bucket in cash to lose a family of customers.

Wish I could give a better review, but this place has gone down hill. Bought packaged sausage in August from one of there food demonstration tables-it had expired two months before. Called them up and they didn’t offer to fix it. Bought a tri tip san switch from the BBQ outside and the meat was completely grey like it was a week old. This place is really expensive and needs to provide high quality goods and services-both are lacking. Also, has anyone ever noticed the lack of dark skinned employees? This is even more noticeable when the new young men working in produce and as butchers are so bad at their job it’s obvious they were not hired due to their skill. Get with the times, it’s 2015.

Dutch crunch sandwich! any meat and WITHSPROUTS. Never disappoints. Sunday’s they have bbq tri-tip sandwiches, also good! Sandwiches are about 7.99 a little more for extras but delicious bought the way they are. Only downer is the customer service, the deli girls are always busy but when they don’t have gracious customer service you get a little worried.

This was our second time coming here for sandwiches. They are just OK, and NOT worth the $ 7.50. The bread is fresh and good but that’s about all I like. It’s a standard sandwich I would expect at any grocery store. Always busy but the wait isn’t bad. Maybe 5 minutes at most. Probably won’t be back.

I usually stop at Podesto’s every time I visit Stockton. They are an upscale grocery store that stocks a lot of specialty items, usually with an Italian focus. Their store is located in Lincoln Center right underneath the large sign and has extensive parking and a large outdoor dining area surrounding the market. What changed on my recent trip was sampling some of their goodies from the bakery. I bought some cannoli and focaccia and was very impressed. The cannoli were cream filled; I usually prefer the cheese filled, but their cream version had lots of flavor and held up well. The focaccia was amazing. The texture and flavor were spot on, and the simple dusting of sea salt was just enough to make it even more savory and delicious. If this is typical of their in-house deli and bakery, I will be back more often. Most of the grocery items are passable, but I expect their meats are as good quality as their other fresh prepared items. Another good option in Stockton!

I’ve been shopping at Podesto’s for years. Their food is quality. service is quality… I love their deli for cold cuts and cheese. The meat counter is super nice and their meat is excellent. Their bakery goods are excellent. with house made fresh muffins and such. I especially like the staff here. They never fail to be friendly, kind and helpful. I love their Dutch Crunch bread. It makes the best sandwiches. There are many gourmet and special brands here so this is a good place for hard to find imported items. A class act!

Grass-fed Rib Eye Steak is the real deal! Try it, you will not be sorry. I keep finding more and more awesome groceries here. I wish there was a store in the Bay Area.

Love the meat counter here. It reminds me of the meat counters my Dad and I would visit when he’d go get something special for grilling. The pork chops, rib roasts, salmon and tomahawk steaks I bought here were all great. It doesn’t lose track of its Italian roots. I know if I need to find specialty Italian ingredients this is the place to go. Certain types of pasta, seasonings, pickled peppers etc. They also have good prices on wines I need for cooking like marsala and different kinds of sherry. The deli counter is awesome. The sandwiches are made to your specs. When I’m at the counter I always get a frittata to take home for later.

My Other Half, a former professional Cook, feels Podesto’s Meat counter is one of the best in the entire county. Personable service-just like the old days, with a good selection of Choice quality meats. Organic, free-range chickens and turkeys. They run specials on the pricier cuts of beef, every so often-then we pounce! Produce section is also noteworthy, and their prices are competitive with local Farmers’ Markets. Nice bakery-plan to pick up a fresh loaf of sweet French Genova Bread in the morning before they sell out. Decent wine selection, with sales on White Zin and Moscatos at a budget-pleasing price point. Full service Deli. Great sandwiches, and the Dutch Crunch is on point. A few hit and miss hot items, baked chicken and ravioli didn’t rock our Foodie worlds but the cold cuts were top shelf. Service is good to very good, the store is compact but well laid out. Watch for sales, because like other local supermarkets, Podesto’s has some nice loss leaders. 4.5 stars, rounded down to 4 for several mediocre Deli items. Get your ravs up to DaVinci or Gian’s level and I will reconsider.

Mmm, this review is for the deli: Love the dutch crunch here, You just fill out a quick sandwich slip, and they’ll make it for you. I’m a big fan of choosing turkey, avocado, and cheese on dutch crunch. There’s some nice outdoor seating as well. They also have cactus cooler! Every time, they made my sandwich, they’ve been nothing but friendly even during the lunch rush, I guess the sandwiches do seem a little pricey, but every now and then I think it’s worth it

This review is strictly for the deli and let me say this is the best deli in Stockton — hands down. You’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t order a sandwich with the Dutch Crunch bread as it is the freshest and tastiest deli bread I have had anywhere. I usually make my own sandwich, which I think we can all admit is a risky move most places if they forget a key ingredient, but Podesto’s beyond having great food is also consistent! Great place if you’re in a hurry, unless you hit them in the dead of the lunch time rush I’ve never spent much more than 5 – 10 minutes waiting. I will admit that you’re probably better off getting drinks, chips, or any other groceries across the road at Safeway as Podesto’s is traditionally much more expensive than those places(great if you need a specialty cooking item though!). So take that $ 8 bucks you were going to spend at Subway and do yourself a favor and get over to Podesto’s.

It was my first time here and it was delicious! We went to order sandwiches and it was so creative how they had slips for us to personalize our fillings in our sandwich. They had a good amount of meat options, around 8, and cheese types too. They had really fast service and we got our food in less than 5 minutes. I got the Dutch crunch(a must!) with turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The total came out to be around $ 7.50 which isn’t too bad since they gave a generous portion of meat! They also have tables for you to sit inside as well as outside, which was nice. I would definitely come back again and try out different types of sandwiches they offer!

I love Podesto’s, not only do they have great sandwiches at their deli they also have some great deals in the grocery part as well. My best tip for you if you’re not picky is to go for the hodge podge option for your sandwich. They give you the pieces that were over the weight when someone ordered deli meat. You never know what combination you’re going to get and this way you get to try a different sandwich every time. I’ve always had the meat piled high and I get a lot of the veggie options on the little menu card. My sandwiches end up being enough for two lunches. Also, always go for the dutch crunch! The sandwiches go great with a bag of Cheddar Beer Kettle chips that I’ve only been able to find here and their Mediterranean pasta salad is my favorite! The pastries are really great too and it’s always a great treat when I let myself pick something out from their colorful bakery display! They have great cased hot dogs too back in the butcher area, the bacon is pretty good as well and all the meat looks fresh. To top everything off the staff is really nice and I’m usually asked two or three time if I’ve been helped which is pretty great service! Oh, and they grill out front on fridays! They have a ton of options and it tastes really good!

Great selection of everything you can possibly need. We stopped by here for a duck. They sell whole ducks but they are stocked in the back, you have to ask the butcher to get one for you. I picked up a pie on the way out. Love it!

Dutch crunch with turkey and sprouts. YUM. Nice, large sized sandwich for about $ 6. The bread is the star of the sandwich of course, but the sprouts definitely take the sandwich to a whole ‘nother level. I got them thanks to my friend’s recommendation. Who knew sprouts would be a deciding factor for a good sandwich?! But trust, get sprouts and dutch crunch. Note: I strongly dislike cold(cut) sandwiches. But I liked this one. I would even get it again! ANDOHYEAH. Eat the sandwich upside down. Your gums will thank me. That dutch crunch will rip your upper gums if you try to chomp down on that sammie on the crunch side! Seriously, it will, it happened to my dumbass cause I didn’t listen to my friend(the smart one who recommended the sprouts).

I heard that the Record reviewed Podesto’s today… gave ‘em 4 out of 4 stars for their sandwiches. That piqued my interest. So tonight I stopped by and ordered a roast beef sandwich with swiss cheese and mayo only… on a Genova roll. Here is what I received for $ 6! I’m thinking I won’t be returning to Podesto’s at least for their sandwiches. Maybe Big Fellows or even Togo’s next time! Yikes!
