Delicious food. Great place to go for lunch they get your food out fast. The staff is super friendly. The restaurant is clean. All of their food is pretty cheap and you get a lot for the price. The noodles are the best! They are ‘closed for the season’ but it does not have a return date as of 7−1−14

We just discovered and tried this restaurant recently and ever since we preferred to come here than any other Chinese restaurant. First of, when we came we were greeted with friendly people with their smile. It was not busy at that time and they would recommend entrees if that’s our first time. Then I noticed how clean their place is. Their high chair is not dirty compared to dynasty, Peking and any other rest. Their prices are not over price with good amount of servings. My son loves this place and me of course. The food was fast, the. Only thing is they don’t have that much options like the other restaurants offered. Their pork fried rice is the best in town. The fried wonton with cream cheese is solo good. Wor wonton is very good as well. So for those who gave them 1 – 2 stars I guess this is not the type of food that u normally eat. I agree that there are some of the food are not that great so maybe when they read ur comments they can change it. We went again n a Sunday and their pretty busy but they still managed to be fast and not rude. I would give them 10 stars for being nice even when their busy. Good luck and I hope that u change ur recipe of ur fried egg roll or vegetable roll bec it’s not really good.

First time here and it was absolutely disgusting! The guy behind was so rude after ringing up my takeout he automatically pointed at the tip section of my receipt, and demanded me to tip him. When I got home, the food was extremely soggy and tasted bland. Never will I order from them again.

We found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot. We were visiting from Hawaii and my inlaws from Manhattan… And we were all quite impressed. It is casual and clean!!! We had wonton soup, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, chicken broccoli, and chicken with mixed veggies. They give huge portions on their dinner plates. It came with fried rice and chow mein. We ordered 5 dishes and a bowl of soup to share and our tab was $ 41.00!!! I rate 5 stars because the price, portions and quality were great! Give them a try!!!

It’s cheap and good. Service was great when I came. Honestly, what else was there to ask for? No complaints here.

I’ve been there three times and service was fine every time. I liked everything I’ve ordered so far: egg flower soup, sweet and sour soup, mongolian beef, mongolian chicken, chicken dumplings, and vegetable dumplings. I wanted to try the place since they claim to make healthy Chinese food. It seems healthier than your typical Chinese food. It’s never been greasy. Would go back for sure.

WONTONSOUPISBOMB! Hopped up in my car(swag!) then I drop my roof. Wet like wonton soup. That’s just how I do(swag!). Then I park my car, then I please your stomach. Eat that wonton soup, wet like wonton soup.

Only positive thing was the super fast delivery. Other than that it was overpriced and the food was not good at all. We got the Fried Chicken Wings, Wor Wonton soup, egg rolls, pot stickers, chow mein, sweet and sour pork and the salt and pepper shrimp. The fried stuff tasted like it was cooked in old oil and the chicken wings had a weird sweet taste to them. Egg Rolls were mushy, pot stickers were hard and dry, and the shrimp tasted frozen. The price came to $ 70 and now we feel ripped off and we’re stuck with inedible food. I have not been at all impressed with the Chinese food in Stockton and will no longer waste money. It is sad when the best Chinese food is either Panda Express or Food 4 Less.

After months of talks of wanting to give this place a try, my bf and I finally did. I ordered the War Wonton Soup and my bf ordered the #1 combo plate which includes Chicken Chow Mein, Pork Fried Rice, and Fried Prawns. The War Wonton Soup was not bad at all… very light broth. My bf’s dinner, on the other hand, was definitely bland! Seriously, BLAND! All you taste in the chow mein and fried rice is the oil it was cooked in. It makes you question whether or not they use any spice or seasoning in their cooking. And the prawns were super greasy. Yuck. On a good note, the young man who took our order was very polite and even brought our order out to our car(we had our puppy waiting in the car so we went back to the car after placing our order). I think this place has potential; it was obviously there at one point based on past reviews(from grand opening). Bring it back Rice Bowl!

@ first when this place opened the food was fresh tasting and very yummy. Now lately it taste old and funky ? I usually order the salt and pepper shrimp and it’s usually light crispy with bits of jalapeño & cracked pepper+ a hint of salt — but now its soggy, greasy and bland The hand pulled noodles at first was very yummy had a perfect chewy texture and lightly stir fried. but now it taste super bland, super soggy, and not to mention very very greasy The house shrimp at first the special sounded good @ $ 11 for 40 pieces, but when you get it .its a major disappointment. Nothing that’s suppose to be fried should be cold and soggy? and the sauce was too sweet it tasted like it was smothered in condensed milk. Im going to save this place the embarrassment and not List all the other stuff we tried but I still give them props for their wonton soup(: its light clean and savory I dont know what happened to this place maybe that’s what happens to new restaurants in Stockton. in time they change and become boring like every other place here.

A few days ago, the name of this place popped up while I was on Unilocal.I happened to be at the Holiday Theater and noticed this place across the street. So, I went in, and I think I found a little gem thanks to Unilocal. When I hear Rice Bowl, I picture a teriyake chicken over white rice kind of place. At first, that is what I expected, but I figured this place must be more than that when I noticed that the sign also said«Chinese Food.» This place is, in fact, more than a «Rice Bowl.»(Not putting down chicken bowl places – I like them!) It is a full Chinese restaurant – although I think I saw teriyake chicken if you want that. The restaurant décor is pleasant and clean. Perhaps they could have hidden the soda fountain more, but I am being picky –and I probably only noticed as I sat at the table closest to it, facing it. I was greeted and seated quickly, my beverage served promptly, my order taken fast. Servers were friendly, too, and I witnessed them helping each other to actually get diners served fast. My food was served quickly, too. And, it was hot! That is huge to me; I cannot believe how many restaurants serve their food warm or even room temperature. I prefer dining with others in a Chinese restaurant as I like being able to order lots of different dishes among us to share and try. This time I was alone, so I ordered a lunch combo: Mongolian Beef, Pork Fried Rice, and Pork Chow Mein. My food was basic(well, look at what I ordered!) and was good. It tasted fresh, like something freshly made in my kitchen, rather than something made in bulk and/or sitting around too long. Another check. The portion was very large. A good deal for the price. Check, check, check. I look forward to going back and, now that I know it is good, being more adventurous with the menu.

I really wanted to like this place! I dragged my boyfriend here after reading all the reviews. It was nice and clean inside and the service was prompt but the food was a major let down. We tried ordering their pot stickers but they were out. so were opt for their dumplings instead. It looked like they just boiled them. The dough was undercooked and the meat was still pink which freaks me out. We also tried their spicy/saucy noodles or something like that and the server suggested their fresh noodles! we got excited but were very disappointed. we barely touched it and paid extra for fresh noodles. I also ordered their orange chicken and Mongolian beef, two dishes that are hard to mess up. They were both just okay. I don’t think we’ll be back. there are better places to eat at. I gave them an extra star for being clean!

Last night was our second trip th the Rice Bowl. We found it on a whim a few weeks ago. The food was very tasty and had a very appealing presentation. We went back last night and were just as happy with everything as the first time! The ingredients are very fresh. Everything is made to order and plenty hot. What I like about their food is that fact that they do not use msg and they do not over salt anything. Their style of cooking is geared more towards healthy than most other chinese restaurants. In talking to one of the owners we learned a lot about the history of the small chain and their philosophy on healthy chinese cooking. How some of their dishes were influenced from northern China and each restaurants adjusts its menu to the community it is in. Weve decided to keep going back and to try something new every day. The owner recommended the boiled fish so thats next for us!

My wife and I tried it once, liked it, and went back for more. I grade Chinese restaurants by how good the soup is, this place has great wonton and hot and sour soup. Wonton noodles are fresh with shrimp inside and the soup is almost a meal in itself. KungPao Chicken was perfectly cooked with a nice hint of heat, I added more chili paste because I like hot food. We went back later and tried clay pot and a couple chow mein dishes. The noodles tasted great, the food takes a bit longer to cook so be patient, if in doubt grab a menu and order ahead so it is ready when you get there. If you lean towards no MSG, low sodium, and fresh then this is a great new spot to check out. We will be back…

3 ½ Stars… in the building where Golden Corral used to be on the corner of Swain and West Lane. A-OK…after a rough start. Ordered a side of the BBQ pork while waiting for friends to arrive. Looked and tasted more like a pork roast made in the oven. Not much flavor and certainly not bbq’ed! Friends arrived and tried it and said it reminded them of ham. Where was the red glazing that usually encrusts the outside? Dinner was better… actually pretty tasty considering they do not use MSG. We ordered the $ 11.25/per person family style Express Dinner. We were satisfied with all of the dishes starting with the wonton soup. Several large tasty wontons per person and a delectable broth. We also had fried prawns, one per person… Egg rolls, two per person… very hot, fresh and tasty! I am definitly not a chow mein lover but this chow mein was tasty! I finished off what was left in the plate. They make their own noodles and you can ask for them… they are $ 1.50 extra. Note to manager: Make your mark in the Chinese restaurant business locally by serving all of your dishes with the home made noodles at no extra charge… do something different than the other restaurants. The other three dishes that came with the dinner were pork fried rice… it was ok. nothing special, Almond shrimp… very good and loaded with shrimp… and mongolian beef… hot and spicy and good but I am not a fan of it. Wait staff was attentive and friendly without hovering… The restaurant is new so everthing is fresh and clean. The ice tea is brewed. Prices are in line with other Chinese restaurants. We would return. I would suggest that you give them a try… just do not order the bbq pork… until they learn how to make it! :)

First off, this place is great! And deserves more attention. Don’t be too soon to judge this restaurant due to the location of previous restaurants. From what I’ve seen the potstickers and dim sums are made fresh daily. The place is clean and the noise isn’t as bad as most restaurants. I ate the lemon chicken, it was amazing, so amazing… That i took some home for family to eat also. The price for the meal was amazingly fair, for something that was delicious is an amazing deal. This restaurant deserves more attention to be honest, prices are fair, food is amazing and the restaurant is in great condition. I would recommend anybody who is willing to step out of the buffet zone in their appetite, to come too try this amazing new delicious restaurant. Until next time, I’ll be looking forward to my next meal at rice bowl.

We tried this the first week they opened and it was very good. We went back a week later at night and the food was horrible and we got food poisoning. Thinking it was a fluke, we tried one last time for an early dinner. The fried rice was OK, but my egg foo young was horrible(which I had previously tried). The whole meal was a let down to say the least.

I have been enjoying great delicious fresh cooked meals at rice bowl(ESCALON) since 2004. When I was told by the owner that they were opening a second location with a slightly different menu in Stockton I couldn’t wait to try it. The new location is big, and very clean. The walls were decorated with hand stitched art as well as each table, which i found very neat to look at. The food was delicious as always. I tried there freshly made noodles with shrimp as well as pork dumplings and WOW… So good. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for a great meal for a great price. I have attached some pictures as well.

Drove by today to see a grand opening sign so I decided to check it out. Very clean and new inside. There was only one other customer ordering at the tables when I got there. They don’t use MSG. I ordered a #1 combination to-go which was $ 5.55. It had fried prawns, pork chow mein and pork fried rice. It came in a big styrofoam square container. Majority of the food was the chow mein, which was a bit bland and soggy. The fried shrimp I got was ok; it was tempura-style rather than just fried whole, which made me sad. I liked the fried rice the best. Nice and fluffy! Probably will come here again to try the other menu items: D
