Unbelievably bad customer service. I bought a $ 300 Garmin from a Roger Dunn store in Southern California on a recent trip. The device was defective so I called the closest Roger Dunn to my Sacramento home which was this Stockton store. I bought it on a Friday, called this store two days later on Sunday. Explained the problem and was told they could help me no problem but I would have to speak to the manager. He said it would be best if I came to the store. He took my name and number and I would get a call Monday. I did not. I drove 40 miles to this store on Tuesday. They told me they were sorry but even though I had a receipt that says«90 day return on ANYPURCHASE if I wasn’t 100% satisfied» I would get a store credit. Which was fine since I just wanted another GPS. But, nope. The«most they can do for me is to call Garmin» Really??? Yep. They would NOTHONOR A 4 day old receipt! Their reason? «We aren’t really a Roger Dunn. We are an affiliate and can’t really honor an electronic device» Even tho there is a huge Roger Dunn on the front of their building. Wow. Unbelievable. I’ll be talking to Roger Dunn Corporate tomorrow. My device? I called Garmin and they are going to replace it. Love Garmin right now. Stockton RD? Jerks. Avoid them like the plague.

Top Notch golf shop. Competitive pricing on equipment and gear. Went through a driver fitting with them, felt like I got an honest opinion not an upsell. Also, regripped my irons within 30 minutes of closing. Thanks much!

I bought a pair of Nike Lunar golf shoes and they were awesome about giving a price match from the Nike store online. when I bought the shoes the the representative asked if I would like to have it in a bag. I said no thanks and asked if I could leave it on the counter well I went to look at some of the other products in the store. when I went to leave I grabbed the box off the counter and on my way out,(another employee) some little punk kid with black spiky hair said in a very accusatory voice«did you pay for those shoes.» I was so upset I just said«nope, I’m just going to walk out with them. and that was it.

Some random Unilocaler felt the need to bash me in a private message and urged me to update my review. Here it is is about 100x better in price and convenience than Roger Dunn. Random Unilocaler… you’re welcome

I didn’t do any price comparisons except for fitting clubs and their prices are equal to Dicks Sportings goods. This is a store you can fondle clubs and caress the balls of your choice, plus whack off a few in the driving range simulator. If your talking anything golf in a brick and mortar expect to pay the big bucks. Of course I thought Hagin Oaks in Sacto had some reasonable pricing when I was shopping for golf goodies many years ago. The staff was very helpful and courteous today.

I was looking for a driver. Daniel the sales associate was extremely patient letting me hit at least 6 clubs tracking every shot. I had my 20 mo son with me. They were very accomodating. I explained my price limitations and Daniel understood completly. I walked out with a Driver and a 3 wood that I actually hit straight thanks to their monitoring equipment and Daniels patience and expertise. I highly recommend these guys.

This is definitely the best golf store in the area. Great product selection and the prices are the same as anywhere else. I know the other gentleman said they don’t budge on prices, but who the heck does? Dick’s, Sports Authority, Golf Galaxy?! No way! At least when I walk through the door here, a smaller local business, I always get a, «how are you today, sir. How can we help you today.» You pay that little extra for the customer service and help with any questions you may have. You won’t get that when buying online either. The new ownership has really started to turn the place around this past year or so. With just a little more work and possibly new managment/employees(only a couple of the employees seem to know their stuff) this store will be a solid 4 – 5 stars. For now, there is still room for improvment. I will continue to shop here and look forward to seeing what the future brings!

Roger Dunn is the only true golf store in Stockton. They have all the nice gear but knowing they are the only player in town they are unwilling to budge on prices. There so called sales are«no tax» which boils down to 8−9% off or 10% off. Like most of you, Im from the internet generation. I know internet prices so I know when I’m getting ripped off. Granted I am willing to support my local businesses and am willing to pay a premium to see and feel tangible goods before I buy, but there is a limit to the premium I’m willing to pay. When they are selling a set of irons«on sale» for $ 800+tax and I know I can buy from a legit internet vendor for $ 600 or ebay for $ 500… well I’m not willing to pay that much of a premium. I even thought ok well maybe its worth it to buy here since I can return it if something goes wrong. Well… I had a similar incident as the customer below when I too bought a golf bag and and leg stand mechanism broke after about 40 days, in actuality I don’t play very often so I had only taken the bag out about 4 times. I thought well good thing I bought this at the store and not from eBay i’m sure they’ll give me a new one. Not so fast… They had the same make and model bag in stock but wouldn’t swap me out, instead they said because it was outside of 30 days they have to go through the manufacture repair process. End result: I’m without a bag for about 4 weeks. I know they did this all by the letter of the law, but c’mon… They are supposed to be a community golf shop taking care of us and in return we support their business. I could’ve bought the same bag on ebay for 70% of the cost and if it broke sent it to the manufacturer and waited the 4 weeks myself. Although if you are willing to pay full price they can be very helpful and accommodating. Like when I was I purchasing a driver($ 300) they let me take three models out for the day, and I could bring back the 2 I didn’t like at the end of the day. That was pretty nice and definitely something you couldn’t do over internet. I don’t want to bash the place and say its all bad, the staff is knowledgeable and if you are serious about buying they let you try just about anything. Its just the strict MSRP prices and so so return policy that make this a 2.5STAR review. I’ll go there for balls, and hats, and gloves, maybe even a putter… but when it comes to big ticket items you can find better deals just about anywhere in cyberland.

I received a new golf bag for christmas from one of my friends. He told me that he had purchased it from Roger Dunn golf in Stockton. It was not the bag that I wanted so I called them to find out if I can exchange the bag for the one I wanted. I did not have the receipt because it was a gift and I was not about to ask my friend for the receipt. When I called them they said that its not a problem and to come on down and they would take care of me. I work in Sonora and live in Modesto. So its very out of the way to drive up to Stockton. Anyways, last night I got off work early and drove from Sonora to Stockton. When I got there, I was told that they would only give me 75 $ credit for the bag since I did not have the recipet. I told them that they said on the phone that I would be taken care of. The guy says, «Yeah thats what I meant.» He also said that the only reason he will give me the 75 bucks is because he sees me there all the time. Well, they wont be seeing me at all anymore. Your NOT #1 at roger dunn.
