Always love this place. The browned butter and mitzrah cheese pasta is my personal favorite. The Italian sodas are also super tasty and you get to keep the glass they come in

They literally had two dessert options(besides the milkshakes, and old fashioned sodas) which was kind of upsetting. But for my entrée, I got the Mizithra cheese and browned butter pasta. I was obsessed with how delicious it was. It was simple, the«less is more» kind of simple. Its been a while since I enjoyed a plate of pasta the way I did today. If you’re a vegetarian you’ll love this dish. If you aren’t you’ll still love it! My waiter told me that most people would order it with a meat sauce, but I wanted to taste the real dish, so I didn’t ask for meat sauce. This dish comes with a side salad or soup. I ended up getting the clam chowder which was delicious. The whole meal costed me 12⁄13 bucks, which was super ideal. The restaurant’s interior is brilliant. The old fashion train station theme reminded me of being a kid again, it’s quite magical. This restaurant seems to be overlooked by Stocktonian’s, and I’m not understanding why. Poor Unilocal reviews too? My first experience here was great. I would totally recommend this place to everyone.

The original Old Spaghetti Factory in Sacramento is amazing! This particular location is below Par to say the least. When walking in the door you are greated with a strange odor. It smells dirty and musty. I Went tonthe restroom and it smelled like RAW sewage! Not like someone had passed feces but RAW stench! My husband(a plumber) said that it is caused by no water in the P trap. They need a plumber! The smell ruins the whole dining experience and if I didn’t want Mizithera, I would’ve left!

Came here while driving through Stockton on the way to Tahoe. We had a 6pm reservation for 6, but the restaurant seemed less than busy when we arrived. Our server was pleasant, and the food was mostly good(salads were bland and not crisp). The service speed, though, was pitiful. What should have been a routine sit-down family dinner took 2 hours. Other tables around us were served first(which our server acknowledged and apologized for) and we sat, completely ignored, for over twenty minutes while waiting for our bill. I’m guessing the management under-staffed for Easter, but I didn’t see any managers pitching in, and service suffered. I’m not planning on coming back… two hours for OK food was too long.

If I could give it a zero I would. I Couldn’t not even get seated with a party of one and many open table. They told me to go to the bar and still nothing no service. Very rude bartender complaining about making a drink spent 20 mins in there and didn’t not even get to place a drink order.

The food tastes like if from a can. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. I would probably ask Robert Irving to give them a lift on their food. service was great. Did not pushing server for lack of flavor in the food.

Came in yesterday for a quick bite to eat with my kids on our way back to the Bay Area. Walked in at 4:00 and got seated pretty quickly… The host asked if we would be okay with a table, I said ‘Sure!‘ Sat down with my two little ones, got them situated, realized that it had been about 10 minutes and not one person has come up to me to take our drinks. I looked around and saw people who sat after us, had already gotten bread and drinks in those 10 minutes… 5 more minutes pass and a super sweet server comes up and says ‘I see you haven’t been helped yet, can I get anything started for you?’(I guess there’s a table card they put on the table to identify this) At this point, I was beyond annoyed, frustrated and wanted to leave, but she made sure that we were taken care of and offered us great service(even though we weren’t her table and her other tables were clear across the restaurant). Food — Got the spaghetti, great as usual, bread endless & salads are very filling! Kids meals pretty much get the same as adults, just a little smaller portions! Thank you Brooke for dealing with my fussiness and angry behavior at first! You deserve 10 stars!

The food is as good as any other Old Spaghetti Factory. The service leaves a great deal to be desired. Everyone finished their meal before mine came out and not once during the whole dinner was any of the 12 in my group offered a refill. We had to flag down the manager to get refills. Most disappointed in this restaurant of all of this chain I have been to.

I love the food here. The browned butter and mazithra cheese is delicious and the pesto ranch dressing is great. Even the spumoni ice cream is so good! However, the some of lettuce in the salad was frozen. They also never came to clear our plates until someone from our group complained and then the manager came and cleared it. They weren’t even busy. However, they were courteous and I would still come back again for the food.

Food was excellent, price was very reasonable, this is a place I will return when I come back to California. The server Sophany was excellent and was very observant, never had to ask for a drink, she would ask first, again, great experience. We celebrated our sister in laws birthday, a group of 12, very good treatment!

Today, I celebrated my grandson’s birthday at the Spaghetti Factory. We were the first group there at 12 right as they opened. Another group arrived shortly after us, as did other couples. That table, and the booths were served before us. They even got their salad and bread before anyone bothered to ask about our drinks. I had to go get someone to serve us. Even after that, our service was at a snails pace, literally. I swear a snail in the cold could have ran circles around them. Give me a apron, and I’d serve us! We finally had our orders taken, and the food came out, just a bit faster. Overall the food was standard. Okay, for an Italian restaurant. As a Italian, I could have done much better. What can you expect for a franchise? When the bill came it took forever for them to bring back my credit card. So long, I had to hunt down the waitress to give it to me. I mean by so long, like 15mins. Which with credit cards disappearing out of site for that amount of time, is a worry. I gave the restaurant 2 stars only because the manager seemed worried about our service and took care of us a couple of times, with drinks, extra bread and my coffee. She really needed to worry about it, because it was pretty bad. If it wasn’t for her, we would have walked out a looked for another place to eat. Other’s at our table had commented, that last time they were there, the service was also bad. It’s very simple, hire more servers. Makes sense to me. This is great spacious place for a large group, with a well rounded menu, but for the service, I’d recommend it. But I can’t.

My dad and I decided to meet my grandparents for an early dinner at The Spaghetti Factory. I was pretty nervous since I have never had their gluten free menu before, but base on the conversation I had on the phone with the manager before coming I determined it was probably a safe bet. Our waitress Megan was great! She assured me, as well as the manager that they had informed the kitchen that I needed gluten free and dairy free, because of an actual allergy. I know that celiac disease isn’t an actual«allergy» but it is an easy way for them to get the point across to the kitchen that it is important to avoid cross contamination. I ended up getting the salad(no croutons) with a side of oil and vinegar just to be the safest. Then as my entrée I chose the meat sauce which is gluten free and dairy free with of course the gluten free pasta choice. Which you can tell from the pictures is spiral shaped. It was delicious and cooked perfectly! I hate when you get overcooked pasta, but they got it al dente which was perfect. Unfortunately they didn’t have a dessert option for me that was safe, but if you’re just gluten free you can get the ice cream. Our service was really incredible and not just for me, but my family as well. Drinks were kept filled up and they kept me safe which was the most important thing to me. Not only that she was super nice about it and did not give any attitude when I kept asked questions. I love that type of waitress. Thanks Megan and the rest of the wait staff for a great meal.

This place needs to get a standing ovation for the food, service, and overall quality. I’m not going to say this is the best Italian food I ever had but for the price and free sourdough bread with butter, salad/soup and spumoni ice cream you better bet your ass they are up there. I have eaten here twice and both experiences did not fail me. Huge portiions of pasta, specifically the Spicy Spaghetti and Chicken Alfredo Linguine, which were tasty. The dishes aren’t that expensive ranging from 11 – 15 bucks. The vibe is pretty much like eating at grandma’s house with an old feel to it. Hence the name The Old Spaghetti Factory. This is the spot to be in if you really want Italian food, specifically pasta. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

11 July 2015 A friend and I had come here around 5:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. The restaurant didn’t seem that busy. Our wait was about 5mins. We were sat down and was asked what drinks we would like. A few mins later we received our drinks and ordered our food at the same time. I got the Spinach and Raviolli and my friend got the Jumbo Crab Raviolli. Our dishes came with a soup or salad of our choice and a small loaf of sourdough bread. The bread was not that great for it being sourdough. The salad, according to my friend, tasted like«a day old open salad Costco bag». The soup on my end tasted too peppery as if they were trying to cover its extreme blandness. A few mins after our main dishes came out and it did not look appetizing. My Spinach and Cheese Raviolli came with Marinara sauce… which is not a normal sauce to serve(It should’ve been white and creamy like an Alfredo Sauce). Also, the Raviolli tasted old. I ended up not finishing my dish. This whole time my friend and I have not been checked on to see how our food was or if our drinks needed any refills. It took our waiter about 10minutes, after we finished our food, to acknowledge us. The dish apparently comes with complimentary ice cream, but we did not find out until hearing from another waitress talking to another customer. This was a pretty bad first time experience.

Passing through this part of town and made the mistake of coming here. Wow, not to good. First off, for lunch which was spaghetti, it was well over 30 dollars for 2. When the food is okay at best, it’s too much. Everything was slow and for a place that is not busy, that’s not good. Finally, the place actually smelled. I could not believe it, but it really smelled.

Waited the 15 minuets, not a problem, ordered my food and a drink. I got my salad and no drink. Five minuets later I get my food and was told the bartender would bring it out herself. ¾ into my food I catch the waitress avoiding me while attending other customers and asked her«where is my drink» and I was told«she said she was realy busy», so I told her to «forget the drink». I liked the meal even after choking sown the nasty tap water. FOOD– 4 stars SERVICE– 1 star(which gets no tip) Really?! It takes 30 minuets to make a drink? I don’t think so!

Time to update my 2-star review to a 4-star review! I saw the deal they had for their 45th anniversary… and just could not pass it up. $ 4 for a complete meal. Soup or salad, drink, loaf of fresh-baked sour dough french bread, entrée and ice cream! Deal or no deal? Deal! I feel the OSF has done a 180 turn-around in the last year, mostly due to Angel, the new GM! This place is on point now. I hope they continue the momentum that they had during the anniversary celebration. For dinner there was a 30 minute wait. I know I will be back. The food was good and the service was superb! I ate there three times during the promotion. Had both the soup and salad. Nothing really spectacular about them. Lettuce with dressing and minestrone soup. The soup was thin but had a good flavor. For entrée’s I tried both the spaghetti with clam sauce and the browned butter with grated cheese. I enjoyed both. The browned butter and cheese has a strong flavor so a little goes a long way on the pasta. My favorite was the creamy, mild clam sauce. No strong dominant flavor… just a mild cream sauce with clams in every bite. If you can’t choose between sauces, get the Manager’s Favorite and you can choose two. Two years ago i swore that I would never go back… but now OSF will be on my list of to go restaurants. Kudos to the GM Angel for getting this place in shape!
