Only giving 3 because lack of food. Got there around 7:30, they close at 10. After we ordered they told us they only had enough jerk chicken for a small and not for both small and large. Okay was fine with that –but when the food comes out they say ‘oh yeah, no white rice’ I was little irritated because I only eat jerk and white rice. My friend ate and I packed mine to go, Ill make some rice when I get home. Cocoa bread was good though!

Oxtail rice & peas are the best I have had here in the Atlanta Metro area. This was my first time here and I am a new customer for life! ! Ginger Beer is the real deal… yes indeed. Will be back very soon.

Food is pretty good here. Made to order items will take some time like 20 + mins so keep that in mind. They have some big speakers in the corner but I’ve never heard them play any music in the restaurant. I’m talking oldschool huge 80′ style speakers mon

I was there years ago and the food was very good until I saw a bug while I was eating. …the next time I went years late(about 2 years ago) the rice was old and hard.

Banana Tree is a great Jamaican restaurant in terms of food. Needs to do a better job as far as customer service, but this is probably similar to most caribbean restaurants. I gave 3 stars because the food was the best when served fresh. I received old chicken two visits, but I really loved the grilled jerk chicken, jerk pork and curry chicken. Please note the jerk chicken and jerk pork is served only on friday and saturday. I’m sure they are missing big profits as a result.

Found myself in this area the other day and stopped in for lunch. The place is very in the cut and easy to pass… They have a great price on their lunch special(I think $ 5.25 or $ 5.95, between 11am and 2pm)– comes with cabbage, rice and peas, small soda, and one piece of plantain. My sister told me they have great oxtail and jerk, I’m not a big oxtail fan and I’m VERY particular about my jerk chicken, so I opted for brown stew chicken to play it safe… BADIDEA. Their brown stew sauce is NOT brown stew sauce, it’s some type bbq/hot sauce mix that you’d expect to get at a second rate buffet. So bad. And although the food was hot, the chicken was not fresh, it was clearly old chicken. The place is kind of like a hole in the wall, but the type of hole in the wall that could be your favorite place if the food was better. The cabbage was good though and rice and peas were too. But the cocoa bread wasn’t the sweetest. At some point I’m sure I’ll give them another chance, but for now it wasn’t good. The lady up front was nice though.
