Quick and tasty cafeteria food: Indian, Korean(bibimbap) and Chinese. Vegetarian options.

The jclub has gone down in quality over the years. I remember having a great deal of food choices and good quality. Today my experience was OK, but definitely not memorable in a positive way. The mango lassi I drank was very watered down — I was described by peers as «watered down activia yogurt».

Visited my daughter. What a lovely place the Wang Center is. Peaceful… very Zen with the fountains going. Bubble Tea was great! We will be back.

I did my undergrad at SUNY Albany so my expectations aren’t too high when it comes to food on campus. The building it is in is beautiful and it doesn’t even feel like your at a college dining area when you go here. They have a variety of different asian foods from korean, indian, chinese, sushi, and hibachi. Overpriced for what you get. For a college campus you can only expect so much which is why i gave it 3 stars.

Food is horrible. Sushi is never fresh, my stomach always hurts after a few bites. Curry kitchen the rice is always hard seems to be used for days.

Everything is full of MSG and I always get food poisoning and sore throat after eating there. Indian food is so watery and I always have diarrhea. Chinese food taste so cheap and I can literally taste MSG. Korean food is okay. Sushi is definitely overpriced and pretty low quality. The managers are obnoxious and rude.

Everything contains high amount of sodium and also the catering staff are students. The staff would give you attitude if you ask for a inquiry of what they are serving

The campus food here is one of the best for a college campus eat. However with the amount they change for a plate of sushi to the quality and freshness of the food the ratio between the price is terrible also the service is terrible from the staff here

jasmine’s food, although nasty, is the 2nd best on campus. that is only because the other places on campus suck. you can see how they’re making the teriyaki. nasty ain’t it. but on the normal day I suggest you get that since it’s cheap serving wise. Get the tilapia and you will be malnourished. Indian food is sometimes okay I guess. bubble tea is four dollars for baby sized and has rock hard tapioca so watch out for that. it’s usually $ 10+/10 flex to eat but most people spend more. lol, don’t spend all your flex at once. if you do, you should camp out at the HSC cafeteria for the remainder of the semester.

Overpriced. And the Indian food is garbage. Korean is alright but that’s about it. Would definitely not recommend.

Love the Korean bibimbap style food they offer, I have gone there several times and once with a friend, the prices are reasonable but not great. The staff is friendly but, I had trouble communicating with an employee because she couldn’t understand what I was saying when I asked for«bulgogi in the bibimbap and gochujang on the side» I don’t know what else to call them and I expected her to know what it was since they use the korean names on the menu.

Solid Chinese and Indian food. Cafeteria style, order your food, pick it up, and pay at the register. Chinese food is very Americanized, but pretty good and I would give it a passing grade, especially since its in a school. Indian food can be salty at times, but in terms of flavor it tastes very authentic. I wish the chicken vindaloo had more heat, but they probably toned it down a bit to cater to students tastes. Garlic naan is baked perfectly and it is toasty and warm when you first order it from their ovens. Space is very clean and probably one of the better food courts in Stony Brook University, although the trek can be far if you’re traveling from the other side of campus.

They have recently changed vendors in the past year. I think it maybe better than what it was when I was undergrad here(2 – 3 years ago) or at least more expensive. Food is still okay. Never bad, but never really good either. I wonder if they still claim to be the best Asian cruising on Long Island cause it was quite sad when they had that being advertised back then…

I don’t actually like it but giving 4 stars. It is because Jasmine is such a great place to eat. But they don’t change their menus. Everyday it offers the same dishes again and again.

This is mad solid for college food. From a kid who went to a minuscule liberal arts college, this is impressive. It may be because I am being spoiled and love Asian cuisine but I’m about it here. Even if this whole building is ghost town that would make a great Tony Hawk Pro Skater level on the weekends. Quality of the food was not top bar but it tasted good and the variety of options are respectful.

A lot has changed in one year. Portions are a lot smaller as the containers have changed to these rectangular plastic ones. It’s basically less and worse food, same overpriced cost. Many of my favorite choices from last year are now gone. Replaced now are new questionable choices considering I’m Asian. Sadly, Jasmine is still the best place on campus to get your fill of Asian food as the places in Roth and Union are downright terrible. My only favorite choices are the steamed Bok Choy with fried rice only available on the weekends. Koala Bear crackers and Shrimp crackers are also gone now. :(

Look, I’d give it 5 stars. If Stonybrook represented the entirety of the world, Jasmine would get 5 stars. Because at least it offers cultural diversity, sort-of good food and somewhat nutritionally varied dishes as opposed to cardboard burritos at the Union and American burger pizzas at the SAC. Roth is no better with Wendy’s inflating the student body and CPK closing down. Thank the Lord for Jasmine. Too bad compared to REAL food, food that dormers do not get to taste unless they happen to be off campus or back home, Jasmine food sucks. It is an oily mixture of culture and ambition. Which apparently, together make edible but sub-par Asian food. It tries to be good, so you can sigh and pat it on the back– but you know it’s not amazing. Like a disabled little girl auditioning for American Idol. You have to appreciate the ‘try’ there. Except the Chicken Teriyaki. That is good. Mmm. And the portions are large. Thanks for this gem, SBU.

If you have or still study at SBU you have probably figured out that Jasmine has terrible food at high prices. Students eat here because well, it’s much better than a sorry salad elsewhere. And if you have a meal plan– you have to spend it. At Jasmine the«sushi» is scary, the chicken is suspicious, the staff is upset this is the place they work at, and the music doesn’t compliment the ambiance they’re halfheartedly trying to create here. I only liked the potato samosas from the Indian section. 2 stars for the samosas.

Stony, Stony, Stony… The food here at Jasmine is the same year after year. The General Tso’s chicken is sometimes good and sometimes over cooked. Beef and broccoli is too saucy. The Fried rice is very bland and flavorless. The chow mein is okay. The entire Chinese section of Jasmine is simply terrible but still eatable in terms of school food. I ate a little bit more at the Indian section of Jasmine towards the end of my stay in Stony Brook. They made this chicken that is in this tray of curry sauce. It’s a hit or miss. That sauce went really well with white rice and a side order of naan bread. The sushi here at Jasmine is so-so. The prices have gone up and quality of sashimi has definitely gone down. I wouldn’t eat tuna here. The color of the tuna alone makes me wanna hurl. The Dragon roll here is fairly decent. The avocado looks fresh and it seems to be one of their top sellers. Jasmine also has a bubble tea parlor. Is it good? HELL F’N NO! For first timers, they must think it’s great because they haven’t tried the better stuff yet and the tapioca here is terrible! It’s overpriced and they put way too much ice! So what is it about Jasmine that I like? Well, since I was a art major here and I spent the majority of my time in the Staller Center For The Arts which is right next to the Wang Center(Where Jasmine is located), it was a good place to grab a quick bite during off peak hours. During lunch and dinner hours, the lines in Jasmine can be quite ridiculous! Freshman usually choose to eat at Jasmine. Good Asian cuisine simply doesn’t exist in Stony Brook. Maybe some Japanese restaurants outside of campus but other than that, I would stick with American food when coming to Stony.
