Just closed on a house june 30th. had Rich McNichol inspect the home. He found some small issues here and there, but missed some things which were very obvious to me on day one of being in the house, primarily a huge mold problem poorly covered up by the previous owner. Now I’m in the middle of dealing with a large mold issue I should have never had to deal with. This isn’t a situation where it would have been hard to catch either. There were telltale signs hiding all around, he just didn’t really look hard enough. Once we were in and I was able to really look around the place I saw them almost instantly. It stinks because as a first time home buyer you really want to trust your inspector to find things that are deal breakers. I would highly recommend finding another inspector who is more thorough and steering clear of this one.
