Go to Jack Rabbit’s. Get the chili cheese burger. Live happily ever after. Didn’t even know I liked chili cheeseburgers before this place. Or chili honestly. If you want some variety, get the sliders and make sure to get the Pepé Le Pew burger with Caramelized apples, smoked bacon and Brie cheese. Sweet potato fries are good but not my favorite. Can’t go wrong with their normal fries. Cupcakes/shakes are a nice option but I never want these after a full full meal. JR has kind-of a super kitschy 50’s diner feel but man oh man oh man I love their burgers. If not my favorite then in my top three for sure. Apparently there’s a location in Storrs as well; if I had been a Husky you probably could have found me there several times a week. If you’re looking for atmosphere, go next door to their main restaurant/bar. I think they have some of the same menu options but it’s more of a typical sit –down restaurant feel. Enjoy!

«Bostonian ‘dog — grilled onions, bacon and mustard on a kosher dog. Sweet potato fries and onion rings — YUM!» I had stopped by to try their signature fries when I was visiting family. Excellent hot dogs! This will be a regular stop when I’m in town.

Great hotdogs, good location, and nice service – all at a great price. We’ll be back!

Bad quality beef claimed CAB coupled with a chef that wouldn’t last at mcdonalds leads to one of the biggest let downs on the Storrs campus…

Like others, I have mixed reviews of Jack Rabbit’s. What hasn’t changed since day one is the really long wait, but I have to say kudos to the waitress today. I was in at midday and she was serving the food, making drinks, taking food orders over the phone, bagging the takeout and working the cash register and all while the restaurant was full. Regarding the food. The menu is really good with lots of choices and the first couple of times I went I was happy. Today’s offering though was awful! I had an «Up» burger, consisting of bacon and a fried egg. The burger looked as though it was crushed and was greasy and bland, but the biggest disappointment had to be the onion rings, which to be frank were so overdone as to be inedible. All I can put it down to is the staff shortage. I would give only one star as this mess was truly bad, but I have to give one star back to the hard working staff.

FOOD: is solid overall. I like the sliders and fries, in particular. SERVICE: is very friendly, attentive, and fast. AMBIANCE: they are right across from the UConn campus, so students and faculty are often in and around. The place itself is clean, simple, and intimate. There are a few small booths and several tables. Parking is easy, as they have spaces in front and a decent lot in back. VALUE: is excellent. They are low cost and deliver decent portions.

I didn’t think Jack Rabbit’s was bad at all! I’ve ordered from here a few times and been in the store recently. I usually get the Up Burger(Apple smoked bacon, egg, and Angus beef). I find it quite delicious! Possibly because I’m such a fan of the egg thing: D The beef is of GREAT quality, grilled the way I wanted it. My girlfriend always gets a Kielbasa hot dog and she is quite pleased with it, too. Overall would recommend it!

I have been to Jack Rabbits three times now with mixed results all thee. The first time I got a burger that was almost tasteless with a complete lack of flavor. The avocado only added a unpleasant mush to the burger and nothing else. The french fries were covered — i mean covered with salt. My partner loves super salty fries so she loved them — i found myself like eating a salt lick. The second time I got a Boston Burger and found it quite delicious. The onions were a bit oily but had great flavor. The magic sauce is not so magical(French Dressing). I also got a chocolate milk shake and LOVED it. I am a sucker for milk shake goodness — highly recommend. The third time I got a Boston Burger again but with a turkey patty and to-go. Double mistake. The patty was completely — completely dry and flavorless as was as being a soggy, sloppy, fast food like mess. The sweet potato fries were covered with rocks of brown sugar — there were like little sugary bombs going off — not what I was looking for. If you are looking for a cheep eat — go and sit down — if you are looking for Fresh Fast Food — with a slight quality improvement — gab a order to go.

Living 10 minutes away I decided to try this place with my parents. I got the mushroom swiss burger. We all shared a side of reg. fries and onion rings. The fries tasted like they were from mcdonalds but saltier that i left the place with a salt sting on my tongue. at the same time i still enjoyed eating them. The onion rings where typical onion rings. nothing special. my mom definitely enjoyed her California burger with avocado and sprouts on it. my dad was def. down with his chili dog and slider(mini burger) he got. This is a cool place since there is nothing else really like this in the area. also the milkshakes look really good but i have yet to try them. From what I heard a liquor permit for this place is pending so im hoping it will go through. so three stars for jack rabbits.

Jumpin’ jack rabbits, this place was hoppin in Storrstown. Great food, loved the cheese fries. I had their«Red Robin» style burger with a fried egg and this was comparable, maybe better than RR. They really need more wait staff – I’m a little puzzled they wouldn’t be prepared for the rush of folks trying out the place(especially given the scarcity of good food options here). But for our very long wait we got two chocolate cupcakes on the house. Cheers, Jack Rabbits, you’re ok by me.

So I was contacted today by Justin of Jack Rabbit’s via Unilocal.Justin sincerely apologized for my experience and offered me the opportunity to try Jack Rabbits again on the house. I appreciate it and will likely take them up on that next time I’m in the area. I don’t want to start anything here, but I find the other reviews for Jack Rabbits thus far very suspicious. Perhaps they are for real, but a few of them seem to be written very, very similarly and I think its interesting the way so many more perfect reviews were posted immediately following mine. These other reviews have also all been written by users who have not posted any other reviews but this one. thats unusual. Anyway, I’m going to leave it at this, and wait to write another review after my next visit. Hopefully I will have had as great a visit as these other users. I want to give Jack Rabbits the benefit of the doubt, so stay tuned. Second update 3÷9÷10: The suspicious reviews have been removed! Yay!
