The service was nice and quick. I got a combo plate. It was decent food. The rice was good, teriyaki a bit thin on the meat but still good. I felt the fried shrimp was a bit mushy tho.

Hing Loon has been our go-to Chinese place for several years. We have always found the food to be fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The place appears to be under new ownership and things have gone down hill… fast. Ordered a simple take-out order on New Years Eve. I understand that NYE is probably their busiest night of the year, but the disorganization, poor communication, and decrease in quality of food leads me to believe that this issue is not isolated to NYE. Ordered an order for pick-up around 4:30pm, and was told it would be ready at 5pm, and then after consulting with other staff, the girl on the phone said to come at 5:30 just to be sure. Arrived shortly before 5:30 and found a large group of disgruntled customers waiting for orders. After giving my phone number(which is apparently how they keep track of orders), the girl behind the counter looked around for several minutes before informing me that she had«found my order» & that it would be about 20 more minutes(they hadn’t even started my order). 45 minutes go by and still not ready. Others around me had been waiting for far longer as well, and the line at the counter is continually growing making it difficult to check on the status of the order. My mother at home calls Hing Loon to check on the status, and is told about 15 more minutes(this is over an hour after the order was supposed to be ready.) Finally at 6:45 pm, an hour and fifteen minutes after I arrived, I pay for my food and leave with my order. A man who arrived before me and was supposed to pick up his order at 5pm was still waiting, empty handed when I left, as we’re several others. Arriving home, we realized that they left out a large order of pork fried rice, giving us two boiled rice instead, but charging us for the large. We also weren’t given any soy sauce. Food appears to have changed as well, decreasing in quality, flavor, and portion size. I understand that getting Chinese on NYE can be very chaotic and busy, but here they appeared to have no sense of time, barely apologized for the significant delay, and couldn’t even get the simple order correct. I think I’ll go back to our old Chinese food place even though it’s a longer ride, or seek a new place.

I was here only a few weeks ago and everything was great. Then I stopped in on Sunday 12⁄27 and the place has gone through dramatic changed. They upgraded from an old cash register to a POS system(they have since added a second one). There are now two women behind the counter running the place(into the ground). One of them told me people have commented that the food was different and I told her I would come back with my review. The food is VERYDIFFERENT, basically because before it was good, now it is below average. In addition the portion size has been cut in almost half. I got boneless spareribs; before the box would be over flowing with them so much it couldn’t be closed. Now they are stuffed into a smaller size box which is closed with room to spare. I also got both chicken and beef teriyaki which, both of which were physically smaller than before. I had a stick from my last order a couple weeks ago still in my car as I would snack on my way home. The meat take up less of the stick(which is smaller). It is also much narrower and thinner. The new stick is about two inches shorter, and also noticeably thinner. The ironic thing about all of this is it took almost twice as long to cook. You would normally expect smaller portions of the same food would take less time. All of the food is drier and has a much more chemical/processed taste as if they are buying sauces and meat that has been filled with preservatives and other chemicals. Normally I eat almost half of it during my 30 – 50 minutes drive home from here(I used to go out of my way to pick up food from here but now I wont be going back). Often the rest wouldn’t last the night or I might have very few leftovers. I put this in my fridge with more than 2/3rds of it still in the bag. I heated some up tonight to give it a second try and it tastes pretty much the same as it did on Sunday. Normally food takes worse when reheated but only if it was fresh in the first place. I will be throwing out the rest of the food and going out to get food somewhere else tonight. I actually stopped in tonight to tell them my feed back and she was surprised that food was physically smaller but not surprised that it tasted very different. Only time will tell but there are so many Chinese restaurants in the area. Bad ones don’t last long.

Everyone deserves a second chance plus my stomach got the best of me. Redemption song. Lunch takeout was cooked to order right in front of me. Plump little battered chicken morsels in the General Tso’s, fresh cooked fried rice and a cooked to order hot and sour soup that rivals anything I have had in this area. The kitchen and dining room with about 6 booths are spotless
