We lucked upon this path when visiting Stowe, what a beautiful walking trail. In late August, there were wildflowers in full bloom and phenomenal views of the mountains and streams. This is a great stop if you are eating your way across the area(Ben and Jerry’s, Cabot, breweries, etc.) and feel like you need some exercise to counter it all. There are several parking areas and the one we were at behind the church also had a porta potty.

This is a very well-maintained greenway. It’s perfect for walking, running, rollerblading, or biking. It is a relatively flat path, so it shouldn’t be too challenging for any of those activities. The path is just over 5 miles long in each direction, with some bridges dotting the path along the way. On a recent trip, I rented bikes from the Skiershop, which is adjacent to the bike path. Included in the rental was the bike and a helmet. One thing worth noting on the path is that the bridges are a bit on the narrow side, particularly if you are riding a bike. Additionally, there may be a sharp corner or two as you approach/depart some of the bridges, so take it easy on those things! Along parts of the path, there were some outdoor art displays to stop, take a look at, and ponder. Additionally, all this activity builds up a thirst, so a stop at Shed Brewery is a definite must. There are bike racks located next to the path, and from there you wander into their outdoor seating area, complete with cornhole. A gem in Stowe!

Great path for biking, running or walking. In total back and forth it is about 10 miles. There are 10 bridges you cross during your trip down the path too. They are numbered. Along the way, I saw a Corn Maze but it was closed when I went. The times I’ve been on the path, it has been quite deserted, but probably because it was cold and raining. The thing I like about the path is that it is paved and clear of obstacles like branches and logs. A fun place to check out!

We biked the path yesterday, we parked in Stowe at the bottom of the white church and started there, I biked and she roller bladed. The path was absolutely fantastic, It was extremely scenic, had about 7 or 8 small bridge crossings, several wild life moments, on one bridge we stopped to watch a deer on one side and a beaver on the other. The path has tons of exits/entrances and even has a few on route restaurants that cater to the path users, including bike stands and outdoor seating. We biked briskly and took us one hour each way from end to end, not including our stop for sushi half way. A definite recommend and a definite repeat! This is a must do in Stowe!

This is a great paved path away from the road to ride a bike or walk. It is scenic and there is a creek near it and you can hear the rushing water. There are song birds in the berry bushes and chip monks. You can see horses too along the top Northern part.

After stops at Ben and Jerry, and cabot, this was necessary. A delightful path with outdoor art/sculptures along the way. We went on a weekday, less crowded, woohoo!

This is a well groomed and maintained very easy bike path. It’s very appropriate for families. A young child could easily bike the entire path, I think. There’s a few road crossings, but it seems that most motorists were well aware of these and slowed down/stopped. Some of the other bike path patrons are a little rude when they’re riding several abreast and not letting others pass… but you’ll get that anywhere I think

My husband and I walked a portion of the path on a recent Saturday morning. It was a little crowded and more narrow than we are used to, but every was very courteous and polite, which we are not used to. We crossed over three wooden bridges and had great views of the mountains and green fields. No complaints here. I walk on ride this again if I were in the area.

Lovely, scenic bike path in Stowe. It was a beautiful day and I was stoked to get to ride my bike in such an amazing area. The path was a bit crowded, but it was a great ride non-the-less. I noticed that Vermont bike paths tend to be a little narrow, which makes for some interesting attempts of getting around pedestrians. There are lots of things to see along the way, from gorgeous and colorful wildflowers to the cows and goats of the surrounding farmland. I was pretty happy riding along the river, enjoying the sights and taking in the spectacular views of the green mountains. Riding over the bridges was fun too, as long as there wasn’t any other people on the bridge at the same time. I will definitely return again to the path in my future adventures in the Green Mountain state.

The path is snow covered right now but you don’t happen to need snowshoes lately. It’s a little like walking on stiff sand when the temperature is near 40 degrees, which it has been. Very few people have been on the path lately but we’ve had some clear, sunny days and walking on the rec path is a simple pleasure you shouldn’t miss.

WARNING — Do not bike this path in the rain. The bridges become extremely slippery, even at slow speeds. I have the scars to prove it.
