I went there during the slow season and the service was a little slow, but the sushi was on point. My friend and I each ended up with two rolls. The décor inside was unexpected. I don’t know why I was expecting cheesy but it certainly was not. I wish we had asked for one of the special side tables but perhaps this summer we will! For sushi in Stowe, I was pleasantly surprised. Will return.

Our second night in Stowe we decided to give this restaurant a try. Our Server was friendly and attentive the food was amazing. The Atmosphere was great. We watched patrons at the Hibachi having a great time. Prices were not bad at all. Next time we are in Stowe we are definitely going here again.

We were greeted promptly at the front desk. It was about 8:50PM. They close at 10pm this particular night. We both ordered the Maki Combination dinners.($ 18 ea) The décor was nicely appointed. Our waiter came right over to start us with something to drink. He came back over to take our food order. Everything came out with 5 – 10 mins of each other. Soup, salad first and then soon after the sushi plates. The food was good. The salad was rinsed but not drained of water before putting it in the serving bowls. So it left a puddle of water and dressing at the bottom of the bowls. The sushi rolls were a little smaller in circumference than back home in Connecticut; but it is what it is. The waiter was attentive. You might ask them to hold the sushi platter until you’re finished with your hot miso soup and your salad. A good meal.

This place has nice atmosphere and that’s about it. Our food was average and overpriced, our order was forgotten two times(then they told us that if we didn’t accept the wrong order, the bill would be taken out of our waiters paycheck what a way to treat your employees!), and overall it was not a good experience. The wait staff were friendly but all things said, this place wasn’t worth it.

We had an amazing hibachi experience here! My husband and i had a 930pm reservation. We arrived later than scheduled to Stowe so when i called to change our rezzy they were more than accommodating. When we arrived the place wasn’t busy, at all(Friday night) but we got there close to 10pm amd closing was at 11pm. Not something i like doing because i don’t like being rushed but we had no choice… T turned out in our favor, we had the entire table to ourselves! It was our anniversary and after a 5⁄6 hour drive from NYC we were in need of a hot meal! Well, we’re gald we made it here, thank you fellow Unilocalers for this find. So many mixed reviews but our dinner was great! The food was definitely fresh. I ordered the Filet Mignon and chicken, my husband ordered the Filet Mignon and shrimp. We were both very pleased with our meals. The portions were more than enough and the flavors were tasty! We’re very fond of Benihana’s and always compare hibachi places to them and we have to say, Sushi Yoshi was definitely on our«we’ll come back here» list. PS– our chef Chris was freaking awesome! Ask for him :-)

We came for lunch and I really enjoyed it. After eating American food and pasta for days, I needed some rice! I had a sushi roll lunch special, which consisted of two sushi rolls and a miso soup. My husband ordered a salmon tuna roll, which was served hot. It was really good. My daughter ordered an agedashi tofu and a Boston roll. We all left happy! I think we’ll be back for dinner. :-)

We did hibachi. Food had no flavor. Show was without ambiance or personality. Not worth the bill.

Our hibachi experience was far below average. We had a table of 10 for a birthday dinner. The hibachi chef was fine but didn’t have any real enthusiasm or interaction with us beside the cursory usual stuff. The food was really below average. Service was limited — not many drinks flowing. I didn’t think any one thing was awful, but it was just one big letdown.

This is a review for sushi only. The sushi we ordered was on par with something you could order at the grocery store. Quality is not great. It’s very overpriced and the rolls and pieces are really small. The music was extremely loud and most of the servers we walking around with a glazed look I their eyes. I guess you can get away with all of this when you’re the only sushi game in town.

AMAZING food, great décor. The wife & I drive up from New York City and dinner here is worth the drive. The Sea Bass was incredible. The sashimi fresh and delicious. The Hibachi chefs are skilled & clever. When in Stowe this place is a must!!!

Ate here for dinner last night. It was very quiet for a Sunday night but we ended up going with the Hibachi. We were the only ones sat at the table so the experience truly wasn’t what it has been at other hibachi restaurants I have been to when it’s busy. That being said the food was great! Very fresh tasting, not loaded with salt and plenty to choose from. The sushi was fresh and tasted great as well! Next time we’re in the area I would try again on a Friday or Saturday night.

We are an Asian family looking for a restaurant around the Stowe area. We found this through Unilocal and checked out the menu and ordered as soon as it opened. The server was very nice, polite and accomodating! She was very prompt as well and also attended to our inquiries. The food are served in large portions(hence the price; I also think that it’s priced that way since the area is a tourist spot). The food is very tasty! I especially loved the Philadelphia Roll and the Pork Fried Rice. Yummy! I don’t understand why people say that the menu is different — the menu here is the same. They just had the Lunch Special and the Hibachi Meals on another menu sheet which they happily gave us upon inquiry. Overall it was a very nice experience! The view was great and the ambience was casual and relaxing.

Close to our resort in Vermont this place has something very different than any other Asian restaurant. Its called Hibachi, pardon me if I am mistaken in spelling, however the concept is that the chef will cook in from of you on a hot cooking plate. He will also display excellent skills of lighting up fire and juggling the cooking ware too. It was fun watching him cook and see the art of fire on food in front of us. The staff who served us was excellent and talked to us about her India visit. We had nice experience over all.

Lover man and I stopped on a weekday in April 2015 while visiting Stowe. I was disappointed in the sushi… overly expensive and no burst of flavor in my mouth. I had the OL roll and added cream cheese for $ 18.45… Ok whatever… It has to be a pretty thick roll right??? Um… Noooo. It was tinyyyyyy… This isn’t a gourmet restaurant where everything comes in tiny portions… Where is the rest of my sushi? It wasn’t all that great. The mango sauce needed something more to make it special. The roll itself lack much flavor. One order of the Japanese bagel roll for $ 7.25. Not bigger than the OL… Again no sushi party in my mouth… Very bland and disappointing. Lover got the chicken sesame which was really good! The sauce was close to perfect. We will be back to give this place another try but We won’t be back for the sushi for sure.

We had a group of friends in town for a ski trip and decided to come here for dinner since hibachi is a fun group dinner. We had a reservation made which was essential since the place was absolutely packed. There’s only 6 hibachi settings that are are all paired so 3 main hibachi areas. The rest of the restaurant is surrounded by tables and booths for normal dining. Once we got seated, we waited more than 5 minutes for our server to actually come ask us for drinks. One of the guys in our group had a question about the menu and the server pointed at the menu instead of answering his question of if sea urchin was available. On the menu, it said«when available» so my friend was asking if it was available or not. The server then proceeded to go check on the question raised and did not return for 10 minutes and never gave an answer. Finally, we all decided to order hibachi entrees which came with a choice of rice or noodles which was different than most places I have been to that usually just serve rice. It also came with soup and salad like usual. When our server brought out the salad first, he was one salad short which happened to be mine. It took over 15 minutes just for him to bring me an actual salad which was frustrating. Next, he brought out the soups and was one short on that as well but for someone else. At that point, we started redirecting our requests to another female server because our server was not attentive while being very rude towards us. Our hibachi chef finally came out and double checked to make sure he had the right orders for us. He performed a few tricks but did it only lasted in the beginning of the cooking and did not continue throughout the dining experience which was disappointing. The actual food portions that were cooked were very generous and the food tasted fine. I ordered the steak and scallops and the scallops tasted great and received a nice portion size. It also came with 2 pieces of large shrimp for an appetizer and mixed vegetables as well. The prices are $ 5-$ 10 more expensive than other hibachi places I have been at with most hibachi items here well over $ 20 if not close to $ 30. The food is pretty comparable to other hibachi places but the prices are well overpriced due to it being the only hibachi restaurant in the area. The service was pretty awful as well but it might have been just that server. I don’t plan on coming back again because throwing $ 40 down here was totally not worth it.
