Pete’s Mainline Auto Wash

The most overpriced car wash on the Main Line. They do a decent job for a lot of money, but if you want a basic car wash, this is definitely NOT the place to go. Plus, the staff are rude. I was in a hurry and paid for a basic wash. I would not have done this if I had realized that this did not include drying the car. It is normal for drying to be included for even the most basic wash at other local car washes. When I realized that my car was not being dried, I questioned the attendants and was told drying was not included. I offered to pay more just to have them dry it, but was told by the attendants and then the manager that this was not possible. Really? Infuriating. I wound up with a car that was spotted and terrible looking. I could easily have driven a mile up the road and had a much better experience for ½ the price.

STAY AWAY! I have a brand new car (2015) that had no paint damage. I went through their car wash and upon exit inspection (wanted to make sure everything was clean/​dry), I noticed some scratches.
While there is a sign saying that they are responsible for scratches that occur, they denied all responsibility in my case. MY CAR IS BRAND NEW WITH NO DAMAGE! They stated that if it was from their brushes, it would be down the length of the car. I showed them that it was down the length of my car and they still said that it couldn’t be caused by their car wash and denied responsibility.
It took multiple phone calls to even get a manager on the phone and they would never return my call. I am very disappointed in the customer care I received.
I took it to a body shop that i trust and they informed me that it is about 250 – 300 worth of damage.

I got my car detailed here for $ 60. It was spotless and beautiful inside and out, It looked like I spent $ 150+ from the beautiful job they did. I love my car and I am very particular with who I trust it with. They not only made her beautiful they also parked her out of the way, so she wouldn’t get hit by the crazy Wayne drivers, and they called me to pick her up right when it was done.
I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs their car detailed. Top notch service, top notch detailing and a great price. Blown away!

Always a great experience! The lovely woman (Monique) at the check out desk is always enthusiastic, helpful and lovely. All of the employees are great! I have been going there for 20 years and have always been pleased by the amount of effort they put into washing my car and how perfect it looks when its done. Just a well run business! Thank you!

Every time I took my car to this car wash, their equipment would knock the mirror out of the shell on the side of the car. The last time this happened, it broke the mirror. They were nice enough to pay for the replacement of the mirror but still, it is the only carwash where this happens and it’s just not worth going there when stuff like that happens.

I wish I could give .5 stars. For the full exterior they refused to dry the car. I drove home and had to redo the whole car to remove the 6,000 water spots — even after arguing with the guy. Avoid like the plague! Poorly run business.

I wanted an interior wash, is 39 fine, but then he tells me if I want the exterior as well? what! this doesn’t include the exterior, how can u wash a car only inside? got the basic out side, ended up paying over $ 60 for a car wash! then it took for ever almost 2 hours for it to be done. won’t be back to this car wash, I like the one in Berwyn better.

Nothing about this place is good. The people are rude, the car wash was horrible. I don’t mind paying a premium price but back it up with a decent car wash at least. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place is awful! I paid $ 15 for the full exterior wash. My car doesn’t look like it was washed at all. The package supposedly included an undercarriage wash, but there is still dirt under my car. Also, they don’t dry your car afterwards. I was told by an unfriendly employee that they only dry the full detail cars. It would have been nice to know that they do the bare minimum before I paid. Not only is my car still dirty, it now has water spots all over it. I will not be returning.

Prices are too high for what you get. I spent $ 120 for a seat deep clean, carpet cleaning, and exterior wash. Totally not worth the price. The car actually has a pungent smell after a few days (kind of like that Seinfeld episode!) I feel the value of the service I got was closer to $ 60.

If I want just an exterior wash there are plenty of more convenient places for me to go. But, when I want the whole ball of wax, this is the place for me.
I’ve been coming here for many years and for me it’s several miles off of my normal travels. However, it’s worth it.
The price list starts with an exterior only wash for $ 10. I get the top of the list. The super duper top-​of-​the-​line wash with Rain-​X. It is both exterior and interior and It costs me $ 27.
When these folks are done my car is pristine inside and out. In addition to a clean car these folks have a very nice facility. It’s easy to watch your car as it moves through the process and the store is clean and well stocked.
You get what you pay for and for a little more the results and the experience here are top notch.

Maybe it is something about living on the Main Line. Paying a high price for a «premium» service that is in reality mediocre at best.
When I pay $ 25 – 40 to get my car washed I expect a great job; windows, carpets, dash, instrument panel and seats included. But when I go to Main Line Autowash I consistently leave wondering why I bothered to go. Sure it looks nice and the cars waiting to be washed are a mix of premium brands such as Rover, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Audi, and the more than occasional Ferrari, Bentley, Maserati. But in the end you end up with a fair to poor wash!
Of course it’s the Main Line so we happily pay that bit extra for a crap job!

It seems that good dedicated car wash and detail operations are becoming scarce; we live in a world of cheap gas-​station blasters and $ 100 high-​end «detailers». I realize there are environmental concerns, but for heavens sake, every now and then everyone needs to drive a shiny car without losing a shirt!
Main Line Autowash is the answer to the search for a mainstream quality car wash. You pull-​up and get out of the car, where a salesman coaches you through the options, and your carpets and interiors are quickly but thoroughly cleaned. You go inside where you can watch your car being cleaned while browsing the very well-​stocked automotive accessories store, along with plenty of cards (birthdays, holidays). By the time you pay and go outside, the car is being dried. Throughout the experience, the staff are friendly, well-​dressed, and efficent. I have been there 5 – 6 times and only once did I think the job was less than perfect (heavy dirt didn’t fully disappear from front bumper and side bottoms).
Prices are a little higher than the gas station operations (here packages run $ 15 – 30), but they all include interior cleaning (vacumn and windows). Exterior wash only is available for $ 10. Rain-​X is included in some packages, and I have witnessed it’s efficacy on our car.
