Sonic Drive-In

I have eaten here before and had pretty quick service through the drive up window. I just went on a Saturday night at 6:30 pm. I ordered a double cheeseburger, tater tots and their boneless wings, They said the boneless wings would take 7 to 9 minutes There were only two car in front of me. It took about 15 minutes. They apologized for the long wait and gave me a coupon for a hot dog and a drink. The food was good.

Usually I go to Sonic and have a great experience, except recently I went in and had a tater tot experience from hell. I went through the drive through and ordered 2 orders of sweet potato tots, a milkshake, and some onion rings. The cashier asked me if I wanted ketchup and of course I said yes.
I get home, open my order, and to my surprise, only white tots!!! And no ketchup! ahhh!
I call them up, and they tell me they dont even have sweet potatoes anymore. Wow. Why did I not know about this sooner?

On Tuesdays they have 5 for $ 5 hamburgers and half price cheeseburgers. I ordered cheese burgers yesterday and they forgot the cheese on them. They got everything else right though! haha. Any how, I called back and got great service, instead of just reimbursing me for the cheese or just giving me a free burger in the future, they gave me 5 cheese burgers to replace the 5 I ordered that they forgot cheese on. Very happy about this great customer service!
I am also happy because I asked them to mark the burgers so I know what is what and they made sure I knew exactly which was which when I got my order. Very great customer service here!

First time there. son wanted ice cream so wife and i took kids there for ice cream. I have to say it was really good. Now they need to keep the outside cleaner. to sit there and eat to dirty and really with little work could make it must better and probably would take kids there to eat on nice days but just to dirty.

I really wanted to give this place at least 4 to 5 stars. But i wasn’t really satisfied with my meal I had the croissant dog which i was excited to have cause it looked good in the commercial. Once I got my croissant dog it wasn’t even in a croissant it was a wannabe croissant bread it didn’t even taste like one and they put way too much mustard on the croissant. My nephew had a hamburger and they put too much mustard which is ridiculous how much mustard they put on the burger.

First time here so many yummy options couldnt decide spent 15 dollers ordering all different sides so good the car hops where so friendly and nice and the food was great and tasty

Great shakes and icees. They have the half price happy hour when you can get cheap drinks. Tuesdays you can get 5 burgers for $ 5.95 and the burgers are decent size and they had no issues with me changing what was on each. Their jalapeño poppers are good.
We went on a Tuesday during happy hour so we got cheap drinks and cheap burgers!

the chocolate peanut butter shake from sonic is my favorite shake in the world!!!
i also love the footlong chilli dog but i only get it on rare occasions cuz it makes me sick and throw up everytime i eat it ;)

This review is only for the food. went there on the doller hotdog night. lgot the hotdog with everything no peppers. a ok bun no tomato little mustard onions and relish and a small average hot dog. not very good they did have good service. if I payed full price I would give 1 star. skip the the hotdogs get the drinks only.

I love sonics speed and costumer service. The food is always impressive! I love that you have an individual order placer. There’s rarely a line. It’s a great place to hang out with friends at any time of the day!

I love going to the Sonic Drive-​In for several reasons. First, this particular drive in appears to be well run. They are extremely efficient (we always go to the drive in stations), pleasant, and have always gotten our order right. We enjoy being able to listen to music or read out loud to one another while we eat– and a drive in offers a perfect opportunity for that as you are not going to disturb any other patrons. I also love the Sonic Drive-​In because they have more than one sugar free option for soda– I love their Diet Lime Limeade. The burgers are delicious, they have great fries and sweet potato tots– and my husband loves their Ice Cream/​icee dessert. We will continue to go to this restaurant when we are looking for a good burger and a quiet meal together alone :) However, it is a fast food joint so your healthy options are limited!

Basic functional fast food quality burgers will do in an emergency nothing special. Great Carmel chic malt though and we got our meal in about 2 minutes

Ok I usually don’t give reviews on true fast food places (I just don’t) well at least not knowingly. My friend and I just wanted a cool treat as a last hurrah to the summer… it was super late and Sonic was open…
I have never been to Sonic in my entire life and had no interest in ever going but they had ice cream! So on we went… our treats were so/​so…
But the 4 stars go to the really nice gentlemen who worked the drive thru! He was funny and awkwardly (when I say awkwardly polite he was like textbook polite but maybe a little socially awkward-​like his momma taught him right but he needs a little more time to make the manners his… made it more confusing? Well he was a very nice young gentleman)…he looked like he was fresh out of high school or in high school, he was even more polite when we changed our order when we got to the window to pay… he let us change our order with no issue, no attitude and no problem…
Would I go there all the time, no since I am not generally a fast food junkee… but in a pinch for a quick treat… YES…

Good customer service, friendly staff, and fairly quick, but there food quality has gone wayyyyy down! This used to be one of my favorite fast food restaurants. It always delivered on quality, but after having it this weekend, I think I’d rather go to McDonalds. Sonic, what happened? I’d advise against getting their new pretzel dog, it was dry with no flavor and the hot dog was rubbery. Their chili cheese fries that used to be oh so delicious were a soggy flavorless mess. =[ so disappointed!

Drive thru check! Personally I have had great experience at Sonic in the past especially with the groupon package deal. We ended up getting the bacon cheese burger which was significantly better than McD, tater tots, mozzarella sticks, drinks, and even a banana split. Service is quick and all you have to do is press the button to order more. One piece of advice would be come during the summer months, I can’t imagine eating here now that it is starting to get cold.

This Sonic has the joy of being less than a mile from my house. I have been here a few times, but they have yet to really WOW me.
Especially since they have a drive-​thru, yes. Which is nice. But they don’t ever have drive-​thru times. For example, I just stopped during their «happy hour» to get three milkshakes – one for me and two for the kids, and I was in the line for 15 minutes. What?! I would have just canceled my order and left if I hadn’t been stuck between the cars.
So the food is A-​OK, but the service time is dragging. It’s not actually «fast» food if it’s not «fast».

Its official, Sonic is not worth my money. Every time I have been here either part of my food order is cold, the wait is forever in the drive-​thru, and last night when I asked for nuts on my sundae, they acted like I was crazy. Plus, they were out of fudge so I had to settle for chocolate syrup and they barely gave me any.
I used to remember going to Sonic as a kid and loving every bite… either my palette has evolved or the chain is just not up to par anymore.
And people who give this place 5 stars for a slushy alone? That isn’t worthy… a good establishment should have good food all around.

just moved to the area, and when i found this place, my heart skipped a beat. Sonic is like the chupacabra of all fast food restaurants! I always saw commercials but never knew where I could find one (other than aurora, and I used to live NW chicago).
I’m a sucker for corndogs, which I always get. I can pair this with a jr. cheeseburger which lets me try a little bit of everything, since these items are on the cheaper side of the menu. While the food is okay (as is most fast food) the real stars are the drinks
Their drinks are just delish (I love the blue coconut cream slush). They have some really good milkshakes too! I opted for the banana shake with hot fudge mixed in. Love that they can flavor any soda– green apple sprite? yes please! This place is perfect for those hot summer days where u just need some refreshments to stay hydrated
Saving the best for last, they open at 6am but serve the full menu ALL DAY LONG! This is so great since I work night shift and sometimes want a hearty meal at 7 – 8 am.

So, I noticed that the new Sonic Drive-​In opened up in my town and I was like YAY a Sonic! I had tried the Sonic brand of food fare at the Sonic in Bartlett and was like «meh» could be better.
Tonight, I decided to try one of their foot long coneys… mostly for the novelty. :) Plus, I had tried one of their burgers and wasn’t impressed. I also tossed in a side of their famous cheese tots to see what all the hubbub was about. Complete my meal with one of their equally famous cherry limeades and that was my meal this cool Sunday night in Streamwood.
Well, the foot long, was… okay. A bit messy to eat, but thank God for the tray they put it in cause I’d have had it all over my lap if I tried to eat it without the tray! I’d rather go to Portillo’s down the street to get a «great hot dog». It may not be a FOOT LONG, but at least it will taste awesome! Sorry, Sonic.
The cheese tots tasted like your regular ol Ore Ida tater tots with a slice or two of Kraft American Cheese melted on them. I kid you not! Nothing special… with or without cheese… sorry the power of cheese did not save you little tots. :(Sorry again, Sonic.
When I was all let down I tasted the cherry limeade… maybe it would lift my already meh experience… YAY! It did! Cherry Limeade ROCKS! I’d totally get it again, though easy on the ice though, half of my cup was filled with their little pellety ice cubes… I was sad there was no more cherry limeade left. :(*sob*
Anyway, it seems like Sonic is «just another fast food restaurant» except their drinks are awesome and they have skating carhops! :) I will go back, but probably only for the drinks… maybe a malt or a slushie next time?
