Cool local winery(minus an issue with service)! Pros: +$ 5 for five pours, plus you get to keep the glass(great deal) +They let you sample cheese /chocolate with each pour, which is really fun and unique at no charge to you Cons: +Small /can get crowded — we had a 20 ish minute wait on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm +Maybe we got unlucky(or maybe we looked too young /weren’t buying $ 150 worth of bottles like the other couple next to us), but the lady serving us our wine was pretty rude — didn’t give that much information(it seems from the reviews that people usually experience the opposite — a wealth of information about their wines) and overall was just not pleasant(no smiles, no small talk). Would not recommend this winery just bc of this experience… driving 25 minutes to that kind of service sucks so hopefully this is not the norm! Ambiance: Lots of cute coasters/room décor relating to wine that make great presents /keepsakes. Also surrounded by lots of beautiful trees /mountains so wander a bit outside and enjoy the beauty!

Great for the tasting! They were SUPER knowledgeable and the tastings all paired with cheese or chocolate or dip. Can’t wait to visit the new facility when it opens in the fall!

Great local winery. The wine tasting is affordable — $ 5 for five wines plus you keep the wine glass. I liked what I tasted, but I was especially drawn to the Black Magic as the blend is great for sipping. The Niagara White is sufficiently sweet and is also a good choice, as is the Mountain Red and others. The employees are very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about the products. My only reason for not giving five stars is that it can get crowded easily because it’s a small place, however, we were told that plans are underway to expand the business.

Wow! What a great place filled with awesome people and incredible wines and liquors! Will definitely be back next time we visit the Poconos!

Did a wine tasting, $ 5 for 5 tastings paired with food. Was there with someone else, so for $ 10 we shared tastings of 10 wines and foods. Also came with beautiful wine glasses with their logo. Each was paired with chocolate or a cracker with cheese or a spread. Tastings were truly 1 oz so very small, but the variety was great and we loved all of the wines. Staff was so sweet and just informative enough, and didn’t hover. We had a wonderful time, and even loved buying a glass of wine to have with snacks available and sat outside on the patio to drink and enjoy the foliage. Great place!

Ok but not really good wine. Service was horrible. The owner was somewhat rude about us not wanting her food pairings with our samples — but the crackers were so stale — they were horrible. Took 2 of us just over 45 minutes to sample 5 wines. We are in the wine industry and were very disappointed with this stop. Seems they have a very nice faculty just so unorganized and awful food pairings. we won’t ever go back.

My boyfriend and I stopped here and I loved our experience. We showed up a little after 3:30 and knowing they stop tastings at 3:30, I wasn’t expecting to try any wines, we just wanted to walk around. The staff was so sweet and let us do a tasting even though we walked in late(they even let another couple do the tasting that was even later than us!). I was surprised with how wonderful the wines were! They do a nice pairing with a nibble of cheese, spread or chocolate and the staff explained each wine.

Nice place but felt too commercial. The area where the jewelry was located was jammed in between the tasting area for the wines and the tasting area for the snacks. Narrow parking lot. Gravel with the steps made it difficult to walk up and down to the tasting area, not good for people who cannot walk on uneven ground. Liked the sample of Niagara and Blush wines.

We made a quick stop here while exploring the Poconos. I really wanted to like it, but it was way to crowded and understaffed. The worse moment was that after the wine tasting they let us know that we could not uncork a bottle and drink it outside. Apparently there is a law against that in PA. We had to buy wine by the class. This place has a lot of potential, but needs improvement in terms of the space available for people to enjoy the experience. If you are looking for an awesome winery try Hollow Brook Winery in NJ.

AWESOME! Absolutely loved it here. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They know their wines and know what to pair it with. Finding a winery where the staff is so informed with their product and know how and what to pair it with is hard to find these days. Usually their tastings are with food pairings, but we came on a day where they were just offering sliders with a purchase of a glass of wine. So because of this, I definitely want to come back and enjoy one of their regular tastings. The winery is super clean, and decorated nicely. They also sell local jams and crackers/cookies/pretzels which is nice. You can sample them as well. The wine is also very delicious and can please any palate. If your in the area, I definitely suggest you swing by here! You wont be let down!

I am writing this review in disappointment. While traveling to few wineries I stopped at mountain view for a wine tasting. The tasting started out ok but as my girlfriend and I sat down a group arrived for a tasting that was much younger than the two of us. Although the group was polite we grouped in with them and actually didn’t taste wines together because of the owners process describing wines which she seemed lost swerving this large group. The wines were ok but they did offer a paring of cheeses with those wines. It was a nice place but parking and access seemed disorganized at best.

Mountain View is worth a visit if you are looking for a fun afternoon in the Poconos! I visited with a few friends on a Saturday afternoon in January for the distillery tour and a spirit tasting. The distillery tour(which is actually more of a ‘talk in front of a distiller’ since it is stationary) was led by Randy, one of the couple of owners who first got interested in wine making as a hobby and have now turned it into a growing family business. His passion and knowledge about distilling were both very clear! After the tour, we were eager to try some of the spirits we learned about during the tour. We had to wait a little while because the tasting room was crowded and perhaps a bit understaffed, but there were pretzels to snack on and trinkets to look at while we waited. When we were called for the tasting, we each got to try 3 spirits(from a list of ~8). The $ 5 tasting fee also included a free shot glass with the Mountain View logo on it.

We absolutely LOVED Mountain View Vineyard! Each wine came paired with a small pairing individually selected to compliment the wine. The experience was unrushed and lovely. Take a moment to look around the shop, they have a lot to offer. I also picked up a jar of apple pie moonshine– what a KICK!

Pleasant atmosphere at a young vineyard and distillery. A friendly staff member paired wine with a sample of food to bring out individual flavors of each wine. $ 5 to sample 5 wines or 3 spirits. Their wines had a great range from dry to sweet, with interesting flavors. The tasting includes a souvenir glass to take home. $ 4 for glasses of wine afterwards. Happy hour included pretzels with a variety of tasty dips. Interesting wine related and gourmet food items for sale.

I absolutely loved this place!!! I live around the corner and I can’t believe I have not been sooner. I have been to wineries before but this one was amazing! The staff was very knowledgable when pairing the cheeses and explaining the wine to you. They have sangria sundays which is a great idea! Most of the wines I tried I really enjoyed … Noiret was my favorite! It’s $ 5 for a tasting and you get a free wine glass souvenir with that. The shop has a lot of cute little wine gadgets and a nice selection of cheeses! Try the smoked cheddar it was my favorite! LOVELOVELOVE … If you’re in the area it’s a must try!

There are some awesome people working the mountain view vineyard. They are relatively new to the wine scene and offer many non-traditional wines that I thought were great. They offer tastings for $ 5, but if you buy bottles they will waive the fee. Bottles go for $ 9 – 12 a pop. Naturally there are discounts for buying 6 or 12. They also have artisan cheeses and other foods which they feel pair well with their wine. The food is a little pricy, but it is good stuff. There are lots of wine related knick-knacks for sale as well. My only regret was missing the tour, but that was unavoidable due to crummy weather. Oh well.

I went here with my husband and our 4 friends, so there were 6 of us. We asked to do the wine tasting, but the small room was cramped and we waited off to the side for a bit until there was enough room. We finally got settled and enjoyed the wine tasting. Each wine is paired with a minuscule amount of cheese, chocolate, or cracker with spread. It’s a nice idea, but a slightly larger amount of food would have been better. Also, the tasting room is small and cramped and we began to feel uncomfortable and hot as another group of people hovered behind us, waiting to snatch up our seats after our tasting. We enjoyed a few of the wines and purchased 7 bottles total. We did not get credited back the $ 5 from the tasting, like one Unilocal reviewer stated. When we asked, the woman said they no longer do that. The wine store had cute, over priced wine chotchkes that were fun to browse. After we purchased the wine, we set outside to open a few bottles on their back patio. The Split Rail Red and Fruition were my favorites but my friends enjoyed the Noiret.

I had been anxiously waiting to visit a vineyard for some time now and was glad that Mountain View popped my cherry. My parents and I drove down a windy Pennsylvania road to this quaint vineyard & winery where we met the owner and his dog out front waiting to give the 3p.m. Sunday tour. He began by walking us up the inclined driveway to the rows & rows of grape vines and explaining how he and his wife began their business. The passion he had for what he did was evident and his pride was shining through the glass of blush he was holding. After 30 minutes of walking through the vineyard and seeing the fermentation room, we were ready for our tasting. For $ 5 per person, you got six choices of wines which were paired with a little nibble of a hummus, chocolate or cheese. If you decided to purchase a bottle of wine, the $ 5 would be applied to your purchase and with bottles starting at $ 9 that was a steal! The tasting was quite crowded and unorganized but it didn’t bother me since I was chatting with my parents. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area or wants to taste some delicious wine made by people who love and care for what they are doing!
